Feeling Down? Go To The Cyclones!

Here’s an understatement: It has been a rough season for Mets fans. We all need some activities to boost optimism in a time like this and one of the best solutions is minor league baseball. On one side, its great because you are down about the economy, its a lot cheaper than major league baseball. On the other side, if you are depressed about the New York Mets its great because you get to see [...]

MetsWrighter’s Week In Review

I may be a few days late and many dollars short, but I’d finally like to weigh in on all that has transpired with our Mets this past week, on and mostly off the field. First of all, going back to the Halladay deal. Whether it was or wasn’t true, I am glad the Mets did not make the trade. Now before you all start screaming at me, hear me out. I am not saying I wouldn’t [...]

Brad Holt Too Valuable To Be Traded

Starting pitcher, Brad Holt continues to shoot up the top prospects lists. The 2008 supplemental first round draft pick, has impressed scouts with his plus fastball and his other pitches continue to improve. I asked Adam Rubin of the Daily News about him on Tuesday, and he now has him ranked among the top three prospects in the Mets organization. Last week, Baseball America released their mid season prospect rankings and Brad Holt was the [...]

This Is Your Brain On Mets Baseball

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry about the latest Mets follies, but maybe these will make you laugh. They say it’s the best medicine you know. This first image was taken out of yesterday’s paper and proves that if nothing else, God still loves the Mets. Maybe if we pray hard enough, he’ll send us four starting pitchers, three power hitters, two gold gloves, and VP of Player Development in a pear tree. (Hat [...]

Was The Bernazard Story Overblown?

Brian Moritz of Press-Connects wrote a new article that sheds some more light on the alleged incident involving Tony Bernazard and what transpired in the clubhouse of the B-Mets. The Double-A squad spent the day trying to downplay a story in the New York Daily News that said Tony Bernazard, the Mets’ vice president for player development, ripped his shirt off and challenged the players to a fight during a post-game tirade in the team’s NYSEG [...]

I Don’t Trust Omar Minaya Anymore

I’ve supported Omar Minaya ever since he first took the reins of the New York Mets after the 2004 season. He took an organization that was in complete disarray and put the Mets back on the map. He said that the Mets would be rebuilt and taken seriously, and he gave us his five year plan that would make the Mets significant again, competitive, a contender and so much more. Wow, what a vision… I [...]

Mets Go Down Again, Nats Win 3-1

Yet again, the Mets lose to the Nationals sinking even further with no help in site. Winning their second game in a row against the Mets, Washington held New York to one run and 4 hits. Obviously it doesn’t matter who we play because our team is so bruised and battered that even the healthy guys have lost hope. The lonely core player on the team had this to say… “We’re not going to be [...]
