The Mets Have A Bad Case of B.O. (Bullpen Overload)
The Mets gave up a couple of touchdowns to the Toronto Blue Jays in their 14-5 loss on Friday. But I’m not going to talk about that. I’m also not going to talk about the whiplash Jonathon Niese must have suffered from turning his neck so quickly to watch all the home runs leaving the yard. Here, let me just show you what I’m going to talk about. R.A. Dickey: 8 starts, 50⅓ innings pitched, [...]

Mets News: Valdespin, Not Acosta, Sent Down
Update 5/19 @ 11:03am: The Mets have optioned 2B/SS Jordany Valdespin to make room for Jeremy Hefner. Since the Mets will probably find the idea of a four-man bench not all that favorable, another move will likely be made in the coming days, probably Acosta will go down. Hefner will wear #53 and Valdespin will primarily play second base in Buffalo. Original Post 5/19 @ 8:26am: The Mets organization plans to call up RHP Jeremy [...]

Mets RHP Bret Mitchell Has Hip Surgery – Likely Out For Year
I have been keeping in touch with a lot of the Mets minor leaguers this spring who are still working out down in extended spring training. They are competing for a spot on either Brooklyn, or Kingsport and the competition is absolutely fierce. For example, there are between 50 and 60 pitchers vying for what will boil down to 34 spots on the two pitching staffs. One of those pitchers is a friend of mine, [...]

Mets Take A Beating In Canada With 14-5 Loss
Recap: The ink on his contract has dried, his Rangers jersey is packed away, but Jon Niese was not smiling tonight. He had a few good pitches, but the Blue Jays were just absolutely dominant tonight. Niese’s Achilles heel has always been the long ball, and the Jays had that going for them. Niese allowed a career high four homeruns in the first three innings and two came from the same guy. Three innings, eight [...]

Mets Minor Leaguer Danny Muno Suspended: PED’s
This press release was just issued by Major League Baseball: New York Mets Minor League second baseman Daniel Muno has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a metabolite of Drostanolone. The suspension of Muno, who is currently on the roster of Single-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League, will be effective immediately. Well how’s that for a sucker punch? Never saw it coming. The 23-year old Muno was hitting .283/.339/.461 with [...]

Prospect Pulse: Who’s Hot Who’s Hotter – The Hitters
Well it’s been a little while so I thought it was time to take a look at who is really hot right now with the bat in the Mets minor league system. And you know what? A lot of the guys you had come to expect to see here, are no longer on this list. Guys like Travis Taijeron, and Bobby Scales, Zach Lutz and T.J. Rivera have all been bumped off the list and [...]

Game Preview: Mets @ Blue Jays
The Mets make the journey up north to America’s Hat to open up an interleague series against the Toronto Blue Jays tonight. The Mets split each of their last two series and finally got firing on all cylinders yesterday as they rolled past the Reds by a score 9-4. The Mets made a comeback bid, went for the kill in the bottom of the eighth and then held it for the ninth. In tonight’s game, Niese will [...]
