This feature is supposed to be just a single player, but I decided to have two players this week since they have been performing extremely well: Wilmer Flores of Kingsport and Bradley Holt of Brooklyn. I don’t know how much this will continue, but man Wilmer Flores has been extremely consistent offensively for the Kingsport Mets. If you haven’t heard about this kid already, you should. I say kid, well, because he just turned 17 […]
We just learned that Chris “Mad Dog” Russo has left WFAN once and for all. He leaves his signature program after 18 years of work with Mike Francesa. This is coming after the relationship of the hosts had became a problem over the past few months. Francesa will do the show solo for now. I’ll let you know if anything comes up. Added to by Joe D. – Love them or hate them, they were […]
Just about a half hour ago, Clint Hurdle made the announcement saying that David Wright is in fact an All-Star. With Alfonso Soriano out with a broken bone in his left hand, David Wright will be replacing his final spot on the roster. Wright came second in the MLB Final Vote contest behind Corey Hart. David becomes the second Met on this year’s NL roster, joining Billy Wagner. Thanks to all who voted and supported […]
I know, I probably featured him once already (I don’t recall), but I just can’t help myself as this man’s bat is absolutely on fire. Here’s a short history of this man. Mike Carp was drafted by the Mets in the ninth round (254th overall) in 2004, out of high school in Lakewood, California, drafted for his left-handed power. He hit .267/.358/.393 in rookie ball and wasn’t really regarded as a highly touted prospect. In […]
He was selected in the third round of the 1997 First-Year Player Draft. Christopher Louis Aguila graduated from McQueen High School (NV) in 1997. While in McQueen, he set the single-season home run record. Although. Aguila may not be a prospect, he is showing signs he belongs with the big club. The 29-year-old outfielder played for the Marlins from 2004-2006 and the Pirates minor leagues in 2007. The Mets signed him in March has been […]
It’s no surprise that everyone is looking at the Mets future center fielder. Martinez was signed in 2005 as a non-drafted free agent. Native of the Dominican Republic, Martinez has shown signs of a five-tool player last year as he hit some home runs along with speed and a great arm. He was slowed down, much like Carp, last year because of an injury to his finger in which he missed four games. After the […]
You’re probably thinking, why legend? Let’s face it, Keith Hernandez is the king of comedy with it comes to color commentary. There’s something about his informations or antics that make the game even better. No offense to Ron Darling, but every pre-game show I just can’t wait to see who’s sitting next to Gary. Just to display how great this man is, I prepared a short list on what he says in the booth that […]
Pun aside, David Wright has shown to be the leader everyone has expected him to be. Ever since his first at-bat in 2004 for the Mets, Met fans know that this guy has what it takes to be the leader for this team. The 25-year old All-Star will most likely be named Captain of the Mets, but the question is, "When?" There is no doubt in my mind that Wright will be named Captain. If […]
I sit here thinking I felt this way last September and, for some reason, I can’t do anything but watch in disgust. Am I worried? No. Absolutely not. Are there people who are about to be suicidal? Absolutely. I don’t blame them either. My mother and father said something that’ll stick with me for the whole season. It may not mean a whole lot to you guys, but it means something to me. They told me that […]
