Willie Randolph's Approval Rating Plummets Amid Omar's Vote Of Confidence
Before todays rained out contest, Omar Minaya reiterated his support for Willie Randolph during SNY's pre game coverage. When asked if Randolph's job was on the line he replied, “Absolutely not, I am very supportive and will continue to support Willie Randolph.”
Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
Today we ran a poll to record our readers feelings on the matter of Willie Randolph. The results were shocking to say the least. I expected Willie's approval rating to be lower, but not as low as 18%.

Over 80% of our readers wanted Willie fired now or to give him until the All Star Break. Now that's what I call a five alarm fire.
I want to add one additional point... I purposely put this poll up today because I wanted to see if other Mets fans were as angry and upset as I was. Of course these numbers may be dramatically different after a cooling off period, but they are still very telling indeed. It clearly shows the combination of fear, passion and disappointment in the direction of the team. Sometimes fans need someone to lash out at when things aren't going so well. Willie Randolph is the poster boy for all of our pent up frustration.
The poll is still active on our site if you haven't voted yet feel free.
Have you read the over 50 blogs about the game being rained out... lol... as if any Mets fan wasn't already tuned into cable, satelite, radio or web service coverage of the game...

I'm off the Willie bandwagon. I thought he learned from last season. He's still the same manager. He sucks.

Remember the 1990 Mets! If there was a wild card back then, the Mets would have won the pennant! Darryl Strawberry, Daryl Boston, Tom O'Malley and Dave Magadan would have led them to the pennant!!!!!

I understand the frustration. I'm right there with you guys. But let's NOT become Giants fans, or worse yet YANKEE fans with our behavior. Giants fans spent all winter crucifying their quarterback and their jerk of a coach, and now they're all trying to pretend that they were with him all along.

im also with the majority. im not calling for his head right now- although i do think he's had plenty of time to prove himself and hasn't. but give the team a little more time to bring all the pieces together, and if they dont then fire him! maybe another month or so. He's just not right for this team, his approval rating is definitely heading in the same direction as our presidents LOL
