Mets Exhibition Game Ends in Tie

The Mets walked away from an exhibition game against the University of Michigan today with a 4-4 tie. A homerun by Michel Abreu, that was initially ruled a double, saved the Mets from an embarassing loss, to say the least.

You can read an interesting article with quick hits from the game here:

its an EXHIBITION. a loss is not only not embarassing- it means nothing. Please don't look into spring training/exhibition games as win and lose. anytime michael abrue is playing for the Mets its not that big of a deal.

You know, I'm really starting to get annoyed at Billy Wagner and his big mouth. I just read about the game on the link. He has to realize that Michigan is going to give the Mets all they got, to the Mets its a pre season game, but to Michagan, I'm pretty sure they wanted to give them all they got. Wagner wanting to drill the next batter cause the one before him bunted, it shows how much of a jerk he really is.

totally agree Jay.

Todd Shanley:

You have no idea who Michel Abreu is. Please, do some homework. Ask the Orioles when they faces Cuba in Baltimore.

he's a AA outfielder who hit a homerun to tie the first exhibition game of spring training. whatever he did with cuba vs. the orioles is as meaningless as this game and the idea that the loss would have been embarassing.

what would have been embarrassing is if Wagner really did beam the next batter on purpose.

Why does it say here that it was a tie but on mets.com that it was a loss?

Guys: gets what? The Mets are going to lose a whole bunch of games, not only in Spring training but during the regular season...the point is that the other teams are going to lose more games and eventually we will end up in first place and in with all probabilities in our favor...World Series Champions...so lets get positive...
