Mets About To Gift Wrap NL East For Phils
Like I said, are we going to get swept by the Washington Nationals, or will the Mets do something about it?
And the answer is: WHEN YOU PUT JUNK INTO THE SYSTEM, THAT'S WHAT COMES OUT!
The saddest part is, the Mets absolutely have no answers to their September swoon. In four days, they may very well have the next 4.5 months to figure it out.
Do you know there is not one Nationals hitter in Wednesday's starting lineup at or above .300. Not one. Yet, they belittled, swallowed and spit out Mets pitching to the tune oF 57 runs over six games.
Firstly, what the hell is Phillip Humber doing starting when he's never pitched more than three innings in any minor league start? Did the Mets' brass think he could give us five or six quality innings?
Secondly, is there any Mets reliever who can pitch to save their soul? Tonight, Mets fans saw why the team is about to throw away their playoff hopes.

I don't want to sound like I'm giving up but damn!!!! Why can't we end this slide. Monumental collapse, how am I gonna face the Yankee & Boston fans in my neighborhood. We Met fans have suffered enough!!! Now the possibility of not making the playoffs after leading the east all year. Omar has to take the blame for not boistering the staff. I don't blame Willie but I know many will want his head. Last year it was Bradford, Sanchez, Heilman, Feliciano, Wagner lights out. This year yeech!!! I love these guys & they are on the verge of embarassing every member of Mets Nation. I gonna take my Rolaids now. I can't even comprehend the Mets not making the playoffs. By the way the Yankees are drinking champagne

Great blog post. The Mets performance has been a complete disaster. I almost dont want them in the playoffs because the world doesnt need to see this team. The Mets define gutless.

Here we go again! Another 5-10 years until we show improvement after this collapse is complete. Another 5-10 years of hearing "The kids are alright" by "The Who" every September until this team will ever contend again. I'm tired of this shit! Go Diamondbacks and I may move to Arizona once this season ends. I don't care what all of Met fans you say! The Mets are pathetic, that's not only a fact, that is priviledged information!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I really can't believe what I have been reading. Nothing but a bunch of hate mail. People talking about how bad the Mets suck and how they're gonna jump on the bandwagon and be a Phillies fan or friggin' Diamondbacks fan!! I've been a Mets fan my whole life. Through the good and bad times. Does anyone out there know what it means to be a fan? You support your team no matter what. Sitting here saying how bad the team sucks and all that other shit is not supporting your team. This site is devoted to die hard Mets fans and as soon as they start losing, people just want to start hating. Going off about the whole front office down to the damn bench players. I think it's funny that people praise David Wright when he's hitting. Talking about MVP and all that junk. Next thing you know he's not doing much and he's the worst player in the league. How about some loyalty. It's no secret that this year's team has had some serious issues and there is a chance that they might not make it to the post season, but DAMN....support your team or go to the Bronx. Or move your ass to Arizona or Philly or DC for that matter. Of course anybody is going to be frustrated when their team is losing and might blow a playoff berth, but this isn't ihatethemets.com. This is metsmerizedonline.com and it's a FAN site. Support your team or don the pinstripes of those overpaid pretty boys on the other side of town.

The Mets have been absolutely pathetic lately and they probably don't deserve a post season berth. But let's remember one thing: Who played in the world series last year??? That's right, The Cardinals and The Tigers, both teams that played MISERABLY last September down the stretch. Everyone expected The Mets to make minced meat out of St. Louis in the NLCS and look what how that turned out. So stanger things have happened than a team that plays awfully down the stretch and barely makes it into the playoffs coming back to win the whole damn thing! So all we need to do is hang on these last few days, get into the post season, and anything can happen!
