The Mets Won't Find Any Significant Help On September 1st
Too much is being made out of the upcoming roster expansion on September 1st.
If the Mets thought they had any real help for the major league roster, that player would have already been called up weeks ago,
I think that the only real help the Mets will get out of this roster expansion, are the two guys Adam Rubin mentioned in his blog this morning. (Joe Smith and David Newhan).
The one thing we can all hang our hats on is the return of Pedro in about a week to ten days.
Even if he is nowhere near the pitcher he once was, he will still be an upgrade over many of the pitchers in our rotation.
The one guy that I thought would have been a big help in the bullpen aside from Joe Smith, was Burgos. But now he may be out for the season.
The Mets already have everything they need to win a World Series this year. They have all of the Wright stuff.
Despite all of our worries, the Phillies and Braves have a lot more worries than we do. ;-)

LOL won't get anything significant? Joe Smith is what this bullpen needs, they need some one to come in and get the big righty out and that is SUPER JOE SMITH...
He better be on the post season roster

I think that Anderson Hernandez will be able to help the team during September by pinch running late in the game and being able to give Reyes a game or two off before the playoffs.

Right now I still consider Burgoes a bust trade as Bannister goes for his 11th win tonight
