Carlos Beltran Is Mets Merized's Player of the Week! PLUS Todays Mets Trivia Question!
Wow, what a week for our Mets! Everyone is hitting the ball so well! My Mets Merized Player of The Week has to go to CARLOS BELTRAN!
Carlos had a huge week with 13 hits, 2 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs. Carlos also added 9 RBI's and 2 stolen bases. He had two 4 hit games this week, one against the Marlins Thursday night and one yesterday at Shea against the Braves. He currently leads the National League with a .385 Batting Average and in RBI's with 19.
My runner up goes to Shawn Green. He is also hitting the ball well with 7 hits, 3 doubles and 1 home run. Incidentally, that home run, which he hit on Friday April 20th, was the first one to be hit at Shea Stadium this season. Everyone is hitting the ball on the Mets, but I feel the first guy to hit the ball out of Shea in 2007 should get some recognition.
I also would like to say it was amazin' to see David Wright hit in 26 consecutive games. It's pretty crazy though, as he really is not hitting the ball all that well this season!

Oh yeah! Beltran has been amazing this week! I'm positively sure its just the beginning too. He was so close to the cycle twice this week, its only a matter of time.
The other thing is, how this team pulls together and plays as a team. Everyday, a different Mets hero. Baseball has never been so exciting!
