metsjpg-0729334736181f93

According to the New York Daily News, the Wilpons were quite busy this evening. They finished deals to sell 12 minority shares  - a $240 million cash infusion – and they have taken care of a few debts as well. One debt that the Wilpons paid back was their debt to the MLB. That full debt was a total of $25 million. Another debt they took care of was their debt to Bank of America. [...]

David Wright Has Rib Tear

David Wright has told reporters that he has a small tear in his “rectus abdominis” which is also known as the “six pack”. He stated that he thought it was a rib cage injury until he had an MRI done, and says that he expects the cortisone shot he had on Monday to take 48 hours to work, which means the injury should improve sometime today. It Is Time To Do Something About Mike Pelfrey

mike-pelfrey-mets-tight-file-29e613e8891108a4_large

I mentioned in my introduction post that the Mets might want to consider moving Mike Pelfrey to the bullpen. Now I am saying that it is time that they do something. It’s become increasingly difficult to rely on him in the starting rotation. One thing the Mets may want to try is to move him to the bullpen. Give him the long-relief role, that way he can still eat innings for the Mets. In most long relief [...]

Now Is Not The Time For Mets Fans To Overreact

spring training fans

Remember, it is only Spring Training. It is only March. It isn’t August or September. Now, what do I mean by that? It was reported this morning that David Wright had an ultrasound-guided injection of a cortisone shot. It was also reported that Tim Byrdak will have surgery done on his meniscus. Byrdak should only be out up to six weeks from what reports are saying, and yet Mets fans are acting like he is out for [...]

What Should We Take From Santana’s Starts?

johan santana spring

Johan Santana has started two games this spring, Sunday against Miami and Tuesday against St. Louis. During these starts he has pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing 3 hits, walking 2, striking out 2, and allowing 1 unearned run. So what do we take from this? These were his first two starts since the 2010 season, and to me Johan looks like he’s already getting settled in and well on his way to returning to his regular [...]

Introduction And Random Thoughts

piazza

I am a new writer here, so I thought to start off, before talking Mets, I would introduce myself. I am a 19-year old college student. I have been a fan of the Mets my entire life, but sadly I have not been able to see them win it all. I have had the privilege to go to quite a few games, although I have only been able to go to one game at CitiField. [...]
