There has been a lot of talk about heroes around here lately… and I think it is time I told a story about a hero of my own. Ever come across somebody in your life that you just knew was impossible to dislike? Their inner core, nay, their soul was glowing with such warmth that you knew they could put a smile on your face no matter how bad your day was? Yeah…that was Adam. […]
I enjoy researching starting pitching for any reason whatsoever, so looking into them for fantasy purposes was more fun than anything else. Today brings about a top ten list for the starting pitchers out there – and unfortunately, will not feature many surprises. The best starting pitchers out there are fairly well defined at this point, but I still dove into ESPN and Yahoo! rankings just to make sure I was not off base here. […]
I heard through the grapevine that the lot of you are looking to Xtreem and I for fantasy advice. Yes, like thirsty wanderers in the desert of fantasy baseball who have found the well of knowledge, rest assured that the knowledge water… yeah, this analogy is not going anywhere. So I was tasked with putting together the top 15 outfielders for the 2013 Fantasy Season to continue with our series – after Xtreem threw out […]
UPDATED 3:00 PM Good news for the Mets… Center fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left knee and avoided any ligament damage. Adam Rubin reported the news after Nieuwenhuis returned from his MRI. Mets will treat him with anti-inflammatory medication and he’ll miss a couple of days. Looks like the team dodged a bullet…. JD * * * * * * * * Yesterday brought some tough news for those concerned with the […]
You have to give Terry Collins some credit for being a good soldier throughout this whole process – he has always said the right things and tried to keep a positive outlook about his team. One of the more recent comments Collins has been credited with was a quote about seldom discussed prospect for the Mets, Zach Lutz. Lutz was a fifth round pick in ’07 and has impressed with his power potential for years. […]
To supplement the series of MMO’s Top 25 Prospects, I compiled a list of five names that I think really have the potential to break out or put together a strong season in 2013, and perhaps jump onto some prospect lists. They all showcase something that caught my eye, so I hope you enjoy them. At the bottom, you will see links to some honorable mentions who also displayed some promise. Gilbert Gomez, OF Height: […]
“There are bad ways to win– and good ways to lose. What’s interesting and troubling is that it’s not always clear which is which. A flipped coin doesn’t always land heads or tails. Sometimes it may never land at all…” Is it not quite interesting that humans love to classify everything into black and white categories? It makes it all easier by watering everything down. When it comes down to it, the vast majority of […]
Last week, you saw the MMO Top 25 prospects come to an end on Friday. I know that there was some debate over placement and player names that were not included, so this post goes out to give credit to some players that just missed the cut. So without further a do, here we go… Gabriel Ynoa, RHP Height: 6’2 Weight: 158 LBS Age: 19 Bats/Throws: Right/Right Gabriel Ynoa is a young righthander with a […]
And here we are… I never realized how difficult this whole process was. Hope you all have enjoyed this series, and if you still haven’t had your MiLB fix, you can look forward to honorable mentions and sleeper picks next week. 5. Michael Fulmer, RHP Height: 6’3” Weight: 200 LBS Age: 19 (20 in March) Bats/Throws: Right/Right If there is one glaringly strong pick from the Sandy Alderson era so far, it has to be […]
