The New York Mets today announced multi-platinum rock band Daughtry will headline the Mets Concert Series presented by Duane Reade Friday, July 20 at Citi Field.  Tickets for the Mets-Dodgers game and post-game concert are available at Mets.com or by phone at (718) 507-TIXX.

Daughtry’s Citi Field show will follow their May 1 concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.  Singer Chris Daughtry will talk about the band’s upcoming July 20 performance at Citi Field during their appearance tonight at the MLB Fan Cave (MLBFanCave.com).

The band – Daughtry, guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock, bassist Josh Paul and drummer Robin Diaz – is currently touring in support of their fourth album Break The Spell (19 Recordings/RCA Records).  The album, which was certified gold in four weeks, builds on the band’s reputation for melodic hooks and anthemic choruses while providing a powerful showcase for Chris Daughtry’s emotionally resonant voice.

Daughtry has scored four No. 1 hits, garnered four Grammy nominations, sold over seven million albums and played sold out concerts around the world in less than four years. Daughtry’s self-titled debut was the fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history and its follow up Leave This Town marked the quintet’s second consecutive No. 1 album.

The Mets Concert Series presented by Duane Reade also features REO Speedwagon on Friday, June 15 and MercyMe on Friday, August 10.  Cheap Trick, previously scheduled to perform at Citi Field July 20, will instead play another New York venue in July.

As you may or may not have noticed we are missing our leader. Due to unforeseen, and untimely, circumstances Joe D had to undergo surgery. I won’t go into details because he’s going to kill me for posting this as it is, but he will be there for a while. As second in command I wanted to ask everyone to keep Joe in your prayers and if you would like please wish him well in the comments. We can make this his virtual Get Well card, if you will.

Now I’m not one of the great writers or bloggers of this site but I am the graphic artist so I think this simple but appropriate graphic says it all. Hopefully he will get a chance to see this soon and know everyone was thinking about him. While we may not all agree on baseball all of the time, we are still one big family of Met fans. I guarantee he’s more pissed off about missing the opening of baseball season than anything else. That’s our Joe D!

God Bless and Lets Go Mets,

Kelly H

I’m at a loss for words. Made this today for you, Gary. Rest in peace Kid.

This is one of the first graphics I ever made for MMO. I’ll miss you, kid.

In 2010, I designed this for our MMO T-shirt Shop. I made Retire 8 Buttons too. I hope this happens.

We are going to donate $2.00 from every Retire 8 T-shirt we sell to the Gary Carter Foundation.

Ike Davis is Pure CHAOS! http://metsmerizedonline.com/2012/02/ike-davis-is-pure-chaos.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2012/02/ike-davis-is-pure-chaos.html/#comments Tue, 14 Feb 2012 17:25:50 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=72116

“Me, I’m like pure chaos and I swing as hard as I can.”

“I don’t think I’ve seen a guy, pound for pound, with more pop than he’s got.  If he connects, the ball will hit the Grand Canyon.”  ~  Chipper Jones

Davis has quickly become one of my favorite Mets. He has an intensity and drive you don’t see in some of the other players and he absolutely hates to lose. I see him quickly becoming the leader of this team in the mold of Keith Hernandez. His quick bat and the power he generates from his lower body tells me we could see many 30+ home run seasons in his future. His defense is close to elite and it won’t be long until he starts racking up a few Gold Gloves. Get back on the diamond Ike, it’s what you were born to do.  ~  Joe D.

He Did It! We had done it! We gave hugs and high-fives all around above the clouds at the highest point in Africa.

The view was unforgettably magnificent, as incredible as anything I have ever seen. But as I took time to contemplate, I realized that the reason the view was so rich was the overall experience of the trek. We had walked approximately 40 miles and climbed 13,000 feet since the beginning of the journey, overcoming all kinds of adversities. All the while, we were building relationships with everyone from the porters to one another, sharing in our triumphs and helping one another in times of need.

Courtesy of the NY Times.

Great job by R.A. Dickey for an amazing accomplishment and fantastic achievement. Dickey set out to do this to raise awareness for the Bombay Teen Challenge, an organization that rescues and cares for women and girls in Mumbai who are at risk of being abused and exploited. It’s an honor and a privilege to have him as a part of this Mets team. He’s a very special player, person, family man and humanitarian. Truly a rare breed among baseball players.

My Best Mets Moments Of 2011 http://metsmerizedonline.com/2012/01/my-best-mets-moments-of-2011.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2012/01/my-best-mets-moments-of-2011.html/#comments Sun, 01 Jan 2012 14:59:36 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=68623

Yes, there were some forgettable moments in 2011, but they weren’t all bad. These were five of my favorite moments last season.

Best Moment #5

The Mets beat the Phillies 2-1 in a 14 inning nail-biter at Citizens Bank Park. But the best moment of the night came in the middle of the game when the crowd began to chant ‘USA – USA” as news broke that President Obama announced that terrorist Osama Bin Laden had been killed by Navy Seals.

Best Moment #4

Jason Isringhausen pitches a scoreless tenth inning to preserve a Mets 5-4 win over the Padres. In doing so, Izzy becomes the 23rd closer in baseball history to record 300 saves, joining John Franco and Billy Wagner as the only men to do it in a Mets uniform. Wrestling with the decision to retire rather than return after missing two seasons, Izzy came to Mets spring training camp for an audition and was signed the next day. After the Mets traded K-Rod in July, Isringhausen became the team’s closer and the most reliable arm in the bullpen.

Best Moment #3

Carlos Beltran hit a career-high three home runs – all two-run shots – in a 9-5 win over the Rockies. The six RBIs matched a career high for the Mets rightfielder who was finally healthy and having a great season. Beltran became the eighth Mets player to hit three home runs in one game – the last player to do it was Jose Reyes who hit three homers against the Philadelphia Phillies on Aug. 15, 2006. ”I have never seen a day like that before,” Mets manager Terry Collins said.

Best Moment #2

After bunting for a single in his final at-bat of an amazing 2011 season, Jose Reyes becomes the first Batting Champion in Mets franchise history. The hit lifted Reyes’ average to .337 which was too much to overcome for Ryan Braun who finished five percentage points behind with a .332 average. It was a remarkable season for Reyes who also led the National League in most at-bats per strikeout (13.1) as well as multi-hit games and sharing the league lead in triples.

Best Moment #1

Chris Capuano pitched the game of his life – a complete game, two hit shutout, striking out 13 and facing only one over the minimum as the Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 6-0. Cappy had a perfect game until a broken bat single by Dan Uggla in the fifth inning. It was considered by most as the best pitched game in the major leagues in 2011. For Capuano it was his first complete game since 2006.

* * * * *

Honorable Mentions

Justin Turner, who was a nice surprise this season, became the first Met to win the NL Rookie of the Month award.

How about that four-game span during interleague play in late June.. The Mets exploded for 52 runs by beating the Rangers 14-5 and 8-5,and then the Detroit Tigers 14-3 and 16-9. The 52 runs were the most the Mets have ever scored in a four game stretch.

During that Tigers series in Detroit on June 28, Jason Bay and Carlos Beltran both hit grand slams in a 14-3 rout of the Detroit Tigers. It was only the second time in Mets history that they slugged two grand slams in the same game.

The 9/11 Ceremony at Citi Field was very emotional for all of us, but what a beautiful job the Mets did in putting it all together. It was certainly one of the more memorable moments of the season.

There were a couple of brilliant starts by R.A. Dickey and even Ronny Paulino ignited a sweet comeback against the Yankees during the Subway Series.

These are some of the best moments I will take away from the 2011 season.

I hope you enjoyed all of my Mets art and graphics in 2011, and I look forward to creating more Mets graphics in 2012. Happy New Year, everybody!

Monday, December 12 at 9:00 PM ET

Seaver comments on being part of the 1969 World Champion New York Mets and his contract dispute with former Mets’ owner M. Donald Grant prior to being traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1977. Here are a few highlights…

On Being Traded to the Reds in 1977

The ownership, Grant, after Gil Hodges died, it changed tremendously. Gil would not let that stuff happen. I was my player rep. I represented my team in the labor negotiations. M. Donald Grant came to me during this period of time, right before I got traded, and looked at me and said, “What are you, some kind of communist?” So, the love affair was a one-way street. As soon as he said that, and there were things before that, he said, “Who do you think you are joining the Greenwich Country Club?” I said, “Oh, that’s interesting, that’s pretty interesting.” So, it began to die. … It was time for me to go. It was time for me to go. … It was not pretty. When you give your heart to somebody and then they rip it back out of you. … It was a lie, it was false. It was a false love affair. Not with the fans, not with the teammates, not [with] the game. Three out of four is pretty good. It never affected me with my teammates and what I did for a living.

On Winning the 1969 World Series

We were in [the clubhouse] at the celebration. It was one of the best realizations of my life. We were in there [with] the champagne. This has got to be the ultimate and you know what? It wasn’t the ultimate. It’s the field that is the ultimate. We went back on the field. …. It isn’t the celebration. … It’s what’s on the field. That’s where the art form is. That’s where the competition is. That’s where the intellectual input as a team makes this happen: on the field. I went back to the mound. … I just went back and looked. … You want that to be your last image. … There was nobody in the stands and it was disheveled and grass was torn up and taken away. But it’s on the field. … It is the journey, not the destination.

On Today’s Pitchers Coming Out of Games Early

It is the economics running the game or somebody’s theory or system that now they look for reasons to take a pitcher out. … What are you doing to this pitcher? Why don’t you go to the mound and say, “You are throwing great. Put this to bed. Put it in the casket.” You’re trying to build these individuals mentally. … Leave them in there. Let them be stud muffins.

“Let them be stud muffins”. Terrific, Tom, Terrific.  :-)

A Fond Farewell To No. 7 http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/12/a-fond-farewell-to-no-7.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/12/a-fond-farewell-to-no-7.html/#comments Wed, 07 Dec 2011 21:07:48 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=66947

No matter what you thought of the loss of Jose Reyes to the Miami Marlins, I think we can all agree on one thing: that Reyes was the best shortstop, infielder, and position player the Mets have ever developed.

No Met ever swiped more bases or had more triples. His enthusiasm, passion and love for the game was infectious and Mets fans loved him from the word go.

Reyes was electric on the basepaths and was a catalyst in the lineup no matter who was hitting behind him.

Watching him leg out a triple had become one of the things I always looked for and loved to see during a Mets game. Nobody did it better than him.

I’m gonna miss his big smile, his dancing after a big play, those wild and crazy high fives he did with each player, but most of all I’ll miss the energy he brought to each game. There may never be another one like him.

Good luck in Miami, Jose, and thanks for all the memories.

Pedro Martinez To Retire http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/12/66708.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/12/66708.html/#comments Sun, 04 Dec 2011 04:59:50 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=66708

Pedro Martinez will soon announce his official retirement, according to MLB.com.

Pedro Martinez, who put together one of the best four-year stretches as a starter in Major League history, told MLB.com’s Evan Drellich that he’s planning to officially announce his retirement soon.

Martinez, 40, last pitched in the Majors in 2009 with the Phillies, making nine starts.

“I’m going to [officially announce it], I’m going to do it, but I want to throw a party too,” Martinez said. “I want to make it part of every place that I’m going to be remembered and loved by the fans.”

Martinez told MLB.com the itch is still there to play, but he’s enjoying his home life too much.

“I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t [play again] in any situation, but I find it very difficult for me to come back,” Martinez said. “Now I have tasted the normal life, life as a family member, being a family man, being a father. You know what? I like it, honestly. I do miss some of the things in baseball, but not all of it. I think right now my family’s my priority.”

Martinez pitched 18 seasons in the Majors for the Dodgers, Expos, Red Sox, Mets and Phillies, posting a career record of 219-100 with a 2.93 ERA. Martinez was an eight-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young Award winner, winning the National League honor in 1997 with the Expos and taking home the American League hardware in 1999 and 2000 with the Red Sox.

Martinez was the game’s most dominant hurlers around the turn of the century, winning those three Cy Young Awards and also finishing second in 1998. He averaged a 19-6 record and 2.16 ERA per season from 1997-2000.

Pedro went 32-23 with a 3.88 ERA in 79 career starts with the Mets from 2005-2008.

We’ll see you in the Hall of Fame, Pedro.

I made this one this season. I hope it wasn’t the last Reyes & Wright Graphic I designed.

These two were a pair I made during the 2009 season. The “Got Reyes” one spooks me now.

In 2008 I couldn’t have imagined these two not being Mets forever.

Aww man, I’m gonna miss not doing these two in pairs…

Wow, 2006 seems like it was yesterday.

Oh my, this was from 2005. Remember Metsmerized on Myspace?

These are just a few. I’ve made over 50 such graphics featuring these two Mets favorites over the years. It will be a sad day when they become opposing teammates.

By the way, in a few days, MMO will debut their new Mets Art Gallery. As soon as I finish putting my finishing touches on it I’l post a link to it..

We’re not done yet as we continue to work on a few things. Plus we need to get the appearance up to Metsmerized standards. ;-)

Adam Rubin of ESPN said in his chat today, that the Mets are planing some tweaks to the uniforms again, and one such change will be removing the black drop shadow.

He says the Mets are looking to reach back and “borrow significantly” from their 1960′s uniforms.

Can I get a Hellz-Yeah!

Maybe that’s the first step to eliminating the black unis altogether especially during home games which is what I have the biggest problem with.

He also reports that the Mets maybe showing off a new patch on their uniforms to celebrate 50 Years of Amazin Baseball!

By the way, that’s a mock 2013 Mets All Star Patch I designed about a year ago and you can see more of them here.

Finally, how many of you are ready for a return of Banner Day?

Guess what, our buddy Adam says that might happen in 2012 too.

This is all good stuff!

I’m looking forward to all of it next season and no matter which 25 players take the field every season, I’ll be rooting hard for all of them like I do every year…

Lets Go Mets!

A Tale Of Two Seasons: Mets Best and Worst Moments Of 2011 http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/10/a-tale-of-two-seasons-mets-best-and-worst-moments-of-2011.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/10/a-tale-of-two-seasons-mets-best-and-worst-moments-of-2011.html/#comments Wed, 12 Oct 2011 18:11:03 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=62786

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us.  ~  Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Ah, what a season 2011 was… The moments played out just as that Charles Dickens play in it’s duality. Let me take you on a journey that will count down the Top 5 Best and Worst Moments of the 2011 season. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case it’s more like ten-thousand. Enjoy our review of the 2011 season, Metsmerized Style!

 Worst Moment # 5

Mets players wanted to wear the hats of first responders when they played the Cubs on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks during a nationally televised game on ESPN. But Major League Baseball said “no way” much to the shock and dismay of New Yorkers and Americans everywhere.

Worst Moment #4

Originally slated to re-join the rotation in late June or early July, Johan Santana’s return kept being pushed back until there was no more season left for the Mets. Santana never threw one pitch for the Mets in 2011 and now the team heads into this offseason with the same exact question as the last offseason – can the Mets count on a healthy return from Johan Santana?

Best Moment #3

Carlos Beltran hit a career-high three home runs – all two-run shots – in a 9-5 win over the Rockies. The six RBIs matched a career high for the Mets rightfielder who was finally healthy and having a great season. Beltran became the eighth Mets player to hit three home runs in one game – the last player to do it was Jose Reyes who hit three homers against the Philadelphia Phillies on Aug. 15, 2006. ”I have never seen a day like that before,” Mets manager Terry Collins said.

Worst Moment #3

With the Mets in the thick of the Wild Card race and at the high water mark of their season, Carlos Beltran was traded to the San Francisco Giants for pitching prospect Zack Wheeler. After a 5-12 start, Beltran led the team to a 50-39 run that saw the team vault from 13 games back in the Wild Card to leap past seven teams and pull within six games back with two months to go. The Beltran-less Mets would go 22-32 the rest of the way and finish in fourth place, 25 games behind the Phillies.

Best Moment #2

Chris Capuano pitched the game of his life – a complete game, two hit shutout, striking out 13 and facing only one over the minimum as the Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 6-0. Cappy had a perfect game until a broken bat single by Dan Uggla in the fifth inning. It was considered by most as the best pitched game in the major leagues in 2011. For Capuano it was his first complete game since 2006.

Worst Moment #2

Ike Davis collides with David Wright while trying to catch an infield popup in front of the pitching mound at Citi Field. What was initially thought to be a mild calf sprain turned into an ankle bruise that would wipe out the rest of the season for the Mets first baseman. Davis was on the verge of tremendous sophomore campaign batting.302 with seven home runs and 25 RBIs in 36 games at the time of his injury.

Best Moment #1

After bunting for a single in his final at-bat of an amazing 2011 season, Jose Reyes becomes the first Batting Champion in Mets franchise history. The hit lifted Reyes’ average to .337 which was too much to overcome for Ryan Braun who finished five percentage points behind with a .332 average. It was a remarkable season for Reyes who also led the National League in most at-bats per strikeout (13.1) as well as multi-hit games and sharing the league lead in triples.

Worst Moment #1

The Mets’ financial uncertainty hovered over this season like a black cloud. Any potential move that might have helped the team gain more wins in the standings, was shelved for less costlier moves for reclamation projects and players returning from injuries. The only significant trades that the team made were not done with winning in mind, but only to dump salary and lower payroll. Unfortunately, the skies are still overcast as the team heads into the offseason. GM Sandy Alderson has already confirmed that payroll will be cut 25% and be around $100-110 million dollars in 2012. Some sources say it may not even top $100 million.

* * * * *

In compiling this list there were some obvious moments that didn’t make the cut but were worthy of Honorable Mentions.

– Justin Turner, who was a nice surprise this season, became the first Met to win the NL Rookie of the Month award.

– On June 28, Jason Bay and Carlos Beltran both hit grand slams in a 14-3 rout of the Detroit Tigers. It was only the second time in Mets history that they slugged two grand slams in the same game.

– There were a couple of brilliant starts by R.A. Dickey and even Ronny Paulino ignited a sweet comeback against the Yankees during the Subway Series.

– Of course another memorable moment came very early in the campaign when the Mets finally cut bait with Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo.

So these are the moments I will take away from the 2011 season, what are some of yours?

Star Wars Night – Mets Pics http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/09/star-wars-night-mets-pics.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/09/star-wars-night-mets-pics.html/#comments Tue, 13 Sep 2011 10:29:55 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=60443 pride

Last night, the Mets teamed up with Lucasfilm Ltd. to host the first Star Wars Night at Citi Field. A portion of every ticket sold was donated to “Stand Up To Cancer”.

I find your lack of clutch hits disturbing.

Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey hangs out with his buddy Chewbacca before the Mets 3-2 loss to the Nationals on 'Star Wars' theme night at Citi Field Tuesday night.

Laugh it up, fuzz-ball!

Guards, take him away and delete his Twitter account.

Don’t forget Star Wars on Blu-Ray goes on sale Friday!  :-)

Vote for Gary Cohen and Ralph Kiner for Frick Award http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/09/vote-for-gary-cohen-and-ralph-kiner-for-frick-award.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/09/vote-for-gary-cohen-and-ralph-kiner-for-frick-award.html/#comments Thu, 01 Sep 2011 19:21:08 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=59405

Mets broadcasters Gary Cohen and Ralph Kiner each have an opportunity to be immortalized in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and it’s up to the fans to make this a reality.

According to Mets.com, balloting is now open for fans to nominate Cohen and Kiner for the Hall of Fame’s Ford C. Frick Award, an annual honor for baseball broadcasters.

Voting runs from now through Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. Each Major League club has two nominees to go along with 15 at-large candidates, with the top three vote-getters appearing as finalists on the Frick Award’s 10-name ballot.

You can vote ONCE A DAY on the Hall of Fame’s Facebook page through September starting Thursday. And you can only vote for one person. So you can’t vote for both Cohen and Kiner, just one of them.

A 20-member electorate will then select one winner for an award that, in the past, has gone to industry legends such as Mel Allen, Vin Scully and Harry Caray.

The last Mets broadcaster to win the award was the late Bob Murphy in 1994.

Cohen, 53, has been broadcasting Mets games on the radio and television since 1989, joining SNY for its inaugural season in 2006. Kiner, 88, has worked as a Mets broadcaster since the team’s inception in 1962. Perhaps best-known for his Kiner’s Korner postgame show throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s, Kiner is already in the Hall of Fame for his playing career with the Pirates and still appears regularly in the SNY broadcast booth.

Lets make this happen! :-)

Rocking It On Baseball Tonight http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/rocking-baseball-tonight.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/rocking-baseball-tonight.html/#comments Mon, 22 Aug 2011 14:52:09 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=58180

Obviously I wasn’t in the loop about this contest, but here’s my favorite band Seether, rocking out to the ESPN Baseball Tonight theme song.

According to ESPN, the shows producers have enlisted the help of notable musicians to provide their distinctive interpretations of the “Baseball Tonight” theme song during the 2011 season.

They have already featured these versions of the song on air and in the ESPN Music section, but now it’s time to vote for the best rendition. Here are the details:

For 11 weeks, we’ll have two artists square off in a poll for you to vote on. The winner will then face the next artist on the schedule and so on until the final week, when we’ll see who is the last one standing (full schedule at the bottom). Travis Barker ended Staind’s two-week winning streak in Week 3 to earn the right to take on Seether this week. So vote in the poll at the right of this page now through Aug. 25.

Here are the current results and upcoming match-ups:

Week 1 (July 29-Aug. 4): Staind vs. Good Charlotte
Week 2 (Aug. 5-11): Staind vs. Da’ Zoo
Week 3 (Aug. 12-18): Staind vs. Travis Barker
Week 4 (Aug. 19-25): Travis Barker vs. Seether
Week 5 (Aug. 26-Sept. 1): Week 4 winner vs. J. Cole
Week 6 (Sept. 2-8): Week 5 winner vs. Tom Morello
Week 7 (Sept. 9-15): Week 6 winner vs. Grupo Fantasma
Week 8 (Sept. 16-22): Week 7 winner vs. Steve Earle
Week 9 (Sept. 23-29): Week 8 winner vs. Zakk Wylde
Week 10 (Sept. 30-Oct. 6): Week 9 winner vs. John Pizzarelli
Week 11 (Oct. 7-13): Championship between Week 10 winner and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals

Seether now goes up against Travis Barker this week and all I have to say about that is… VOTE SEETHER!

Photo: I Have Seen The Future, And It Looks Metsmerized! http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/photo-i-have-seen-the-future-and-it-looks-metsmerized.html/ http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/photo-i-have-seen-the-future-and-it-looks-metsmerized.html/#comments Tue, 16 Aug 2011 23:15:48 +0000 http://metsmerizedonline.com/?p=57610 Here is a great shot of newly signed outfielder Brandon Nimmo and newly acquired starting pitcher Zack Wheeler, together at Port St. Lucie today.

Now there’s a Kodak moment for ya…

“Whether that’s a shift in emphasis, I can’t really say, because I wasn’t here previously. But we’re absolutely determined to build the foundation of this organization and create a player-development system that’s a true feeder for our major league team — and not just for role players, but also with potential impact players. That’s going to take a little time for us to do. It always takes some years to build. But I think I speak for our entire scouting staff when I say we think this year was a good first step.” – Paul DePodesta

We got a lot riding on thse two kids, and they both have very high ceilings, so I must admit that the future looks very bright right now. Yes, I know they’ve acomplished nothing thus far, but it’s great to have this kind of potential in our farm system.

Thanks to the NY Mets for the cool pic!
