Adam Rubin of the Daily News is reporting that Carlos Delgado suffered a strained right oblique muscle while rehabbing from hip surgery in Port St. Lucie, assistant GM John Ricco said. Delgado was examined in New York by doctor Struan Coleman on Wednesday. Ricco indicated that the strain was not believed to be overly severe. “The thought is possibly in a couple of weeks he could be back swinging,” Ricco said. Of course, that means Delgado […]

Who’d have thought they’d lead ya (Who’d have thought they’d lead ya) Back here where we need ya (Back here where we need ya) Yeah we tease him a lot cause we’ve got him on the […]

Jack Curry of the NY Times reports the following: Jose Reyes, who was rehabilitating his injured right calf in Port St. Lucie, Florida, experienced some discomfort and returned to New York on Monday night. Reyes was examined by the Mets’ physicians on Tuesday, but the team has not offered any further details. This is a discouraging sign for the shortstop, who has been on the disabled list since May 26. The Mets have been reticent […]

We’re less than two hours aways from the end of the trade deadline and not a peep from Omar and the Mets, worse yet not even a tweet. Bob Nightengale of USA Today has tweeted: The Red Sox are about to acquire Victor Martinez from Indians This has been confirmed by MLB Network. I’m surprised that Victor Martinez isn’t a Met. He seems to fit the mold of everything the Mets could use right now. […]
The Phillies have reached agreement on a trade that would bring them left-hander Cliff Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco from the Indians for Class A right-hander Jason Knapp, Class AAA right-hander Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. The deal, which does not include any cash, is pending a review of medical records. If completed, it will be a coup for both the Phillies and Indians. […]
Here is a quick update of some of the trades and rumors of the last few days. Done Deals Phillies get starting pitcher Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco from the Indians for Jason Knapp, Carlos Carrasco, Jason Donald and Lou Marson This is a steal for the Phillies. Not only does Lee help them now, but he is signed for 2010 for a mere $8 million bucks. Not a bad price for a reigning Cy Young winner whose […]
