According to Jayson Stark from ESPN.com, free agent pitcher Chien-Ming Wang is reconsidering his plan not to return from shoulder surgery until a couple of months into the season. Wang’s agent Alan Nero is now saying that four or five teams are currently pursuing Wang more aggressively than they both expected. This now means that the 29-year-old right hander could sign before spring training if a team steps in and makes an offer that Wang can’t say no to. […]
Former Mets reliever J.J. Putz has just stoked the flames of controversy once again in how the Mets and their medical staff handled injuries last season. A medical staff, I might add, that still remains in place unchanged. Speaking out for the first time since being traded to the Mets over a year ago, Putz said, “It was a mess from the beginning”. He was referring to the fact that something was wrong with his […]
Former Mets minor league pitcher, Lance Broadway, has got himself into a heap of trouble after allegedly initiating a brawl at a bar that left the victim with a broken orbital socket, broken cheekbone, shattered nose and a detached retina. According to Houston Press, where you can see gruesome images of the victim , Randy Sorrels, the attorney for 25-year-old Ivan Pinney, said his client’s left eye was severely damaged when he was punched and kicked by Lance Broadway, currently a minor-league […]
The Mets have signed veteran utilityman Frank Catalanotto to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. The 35-year-old Catalanotto hit .278 with a homer and nine RBIs in 77 games last season for the Milwaukee Brewers. He’s a career .292 hitter over 13 big league seasons that included stops in Detroit, Texas and Toronto. Catalanotto has played first, second and third base, as well as both corner outfield spots during his career. That versatility […]
The Mets have signed 33 year old relief pitcher Josh Fogg to a minor league deal, according to Troy Renck of Denver Post. Fogg had a 3.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 45.6 relief innings for the Rockies last season. He also spent some time as a starter in the minors where he had a 5.80 ERA and 16/17 K/BB ratio in eight starts for AAA-Colorado Springs. He’ll most likely compete for the fifth starters spot or bullpen job in the […]
Update 4:55 PM – According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Fernando Tatis is in fact re-signing with the Mets. “Fernando Tatis will be rejoining the Mets, so Carlos Delgado will have to sign elsewhere. Scouts see him only as a DH.” This isn’t as bad as some may think. Tatis hit .282 in 340 at bats for the Mets last season, with eight HR and 21 doubles. The 13 double plays was a fluke. Tatis could be a good compliment to […]

The New York Mets continue to scour the pitching market and have recently been in touch with Ben Sheets ever since his throwing session last week in Louisiana. Another possible starting option for the Mets could be ex-Yankee pitcher Chien-Ming Wang who could be pitching in the majors by May 1. The Mets are among 15 teams that are expressing great interest in Wang, according to Alan Nero, who represents the former Yankee. Wang, who won 19 […]

According to Rubin, Perez, who underwent Sept. 1 surgery to remove scar tissue from his right knee, pronounced himself fit and ready to go during today’s workouts. As for Perez’s knee, he said: “Right now I don’t feel anything. I think that’s why […]
