Signings Are A Start for Sandy Alderson
Sandy Alderson came into the Winter Meetings having said that he will come out of the Winer Meetings with players. Not big-splash, franchise players but just players to help fill the Mets roster. He did just that today. As my colleagues Hojo’s Mojo, and Craig Lerner reported earlier, The Mets signed catcher Ronny Paulino to a 1-year, $1.3 million contract, and reliever D.J Carrasco to a 2-year, $2.5 million deal. The Mets have said they need a [...]

Update 12/8/10: According to Adam Rubin, despite what Kevin Burkhardt said, a team source told him that the Mets are not considering Moises Alou for the 1B coaching position. Should the Mets Be Worried About The Bullpen?

This definitely concerns me because we have very little experience in the bullpen now that these guys are no longer on the team. With the current [...]

Bob Ojeda Getting New Deal from SNY

According to Andrew Fegyveresi, VP of Communications for SNY, Bob Ojeda is getting a new deal from SNY to stay on as an analyst. Thats not all that surprising to me. I’ve watched alot of him during the season and loved to hear him talk about all the [...]

Former Met Kaz Matsui Joins Rakuten Eagles of Japan
I thought this was interesting to share. Most of you still remember Kaz Matsui. Since leaving Japan, he’s already moved three times, first to the Mets, then to the Rockies, and finally to the Astros. He finished the 2010 season in the Astros’ minor league system after being waived by them in May, and is now a free agent. If reports are correct, it appears that Matsui will leave MLB and return back to his home country of Japan to play [...]
