Ottavino Signs Three-Year Deal With Yankees

The New York Yankees have signed right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino to a three-year deal according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal is worth $27 million over the three years, per Jon Heyman of FanCred

Ottavino, 33, is coming off a career-year in 2018 when he had a 2.43 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 2.74 FIP, and 2.6 bWAR for the Colorado Rockies. He allowed just 41 hits in 77.2 innings and struck out 112, though he did walk 36. He was a much different pitcher in 2017, when he had a 5.06 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 53.1 innings.

The New York native joins a Yankees bullpen that already includes Dellin Betances, Zach Britton, Aroldis Chapman, and Chad Green.

Before the Mets brought back Jeurys Familia to be the setup man, they showed interest in signing Ottavino.
