Mets Minors Recap: Alonso Clubs Three Doubles in St. Lucie Win

Las Vegas 51s (42-69) 4, Oklahoma City Dodgers (58-51) 0 Box Score

Dominic Smith went 0 for 3, but did walk for the fifth straight game. Phillip Evans had two hits and knocked in two.

RHP Logan Taylor was activated off the disabled list as he returns from being attacked. Recently acquired RHP Jamie Callahan joined the team.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (61-45) 2, Trenton Thunder (72-36) 0  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies only had four hits in this game, but were able to push across two runs. Lagares played his fifth rehab game after having thumb surgery and went 0 for 3.

Oswalt was outstanding in this game, throwing a complete game shutout while allowing just two hits. He allowed hits to the first two batters of the game, but proceeded to retire the next 20 batters in a row. Oswalt has allowed two earned runs or less in his last five starts.

Trenton Thunder (73-36) 4, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (61-46) 1  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies were held to just one run and four hits in this game. Their lone run came on a Tyler Moore sacrifice fly in the second inning.

After having three straight dominant outings, Conlon struggled in this game. He gave up four runs and needed 84 pitches to get through four innings. Bashlor continues to rack up the strikeouts, striking out 68 batters in just 39.1 innings between St. Lucie and Binghamton.

St. Lucie Mets (49-59) 6, Tampa Yankees (64-45) 2  Box Score

St. Lucie scored six runs on eleven hits in this game. Alonso now has a 10-game hitting streak and is hitting .450 over that span. J.C. Rodriguez hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Dunn pitched well in this game, but continues to struggle with his control. He walked five batters for the second start in a row and now has 48 walks in 95.1 innings this season. Stephen Nogosek made his first appearance with St. Lucie and pitched a scoreless inning while hitting 93/94 MPH with his fastball. Uceta hasn’t allowed an earned run in last 32 innings and hit 99 MPH on the radar gun.

Augusta GreenJackets (39-66) 7, Columbia Fireflies (56-51) 2  Box Score

Columbia’s offense struggled to get anything going in this game, as they had just five hits. Gimenez is hitting .361 over his last ten games.

Gonzalez wasn’t as dominant in this game as he had been in his previous few starts, but still managed to pitch six innings while only allowing three earned runs. Gonzalez has not pitched less than six innings in a start since May 21.

Tri-City ValleyCats (20-22) 3, Brooklyn Cyclones (14-29) 1  Box Score

The Cyclones were held without a hit for the first eight innings of this game. Rasquin led off the ninth with a triple and Brodey would later single him home. Jose Miguel Medina left the game after being hit by a pitch in the seventh inning.

Debora got the start for the Cyclones and pitched well. He gave up just one unearned run before leaving the game with two outs in the fourth inning. Torres made his first appearance with Brooklyn.

Kingsport Mets (16-24) 9, Bristol Pirates (9-32) 6  Box Score

Dirocie continues to show impressive power as he hit his ninth home run of the season, a grand slam which gave the Mets the lead in the seventh inning. Moreno and Juan Uriarte both left the game due to injury.

Cavallaro has only given up one earned run in his last 8.2 innings pitched.
