Angels Acquire Justin Upton, Lose Cameron Maybin on Waivers

Long, 23, was a third round pick of the Angels in 2015 and was ranked as their No. 9 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 8-8 with a 2.69 ERA and 1.17 WHIP between two levels this season.

The Angels also lost veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin to the Houston Astros. Maybin, 30, is slashing .235/.333/.351 with 29 stolen bases this season and is a pending free agent.

Angels begin the day only one game back from a Wild Card spot in the American League.
