New York Met third baseman David Wright is currently hitting, running and fielding according to Matt Ehalt from The Record.

However, Wright is still not throwing yet as he still needs to build up the strength in his right shoulder before doing so.

The Mets want Wright to be comfortable with his shoulder program before they have him be the designated hitter again in Grapefruit League games.

Wright was told he couldn’t throw indefinitely after being diagnosed with a shoulder impingement on March 2 and has not thrown since.

The veteran infielder has said he will still fight to get back on the field despite the various injuries he’s had to deal with over the past two seasons. He also voiced a willingness to take some grounders at first base if necessary.

Wright has gone 1 for 4 in two games thus far this spring.
