Mets Still Need A Lefty Reliever

In an article posted by Jon Heyman on FanRagSports.com, the journalist documents the winners and losers of the winter meetings.

As many of us are already aware, the Mets made a big splash by resigning Yoenis Cespedes, but still haven’t signed a lefty reliever and need to trade one of their corner outfielders.

While they could eventually score a lefty in exchange for someone like Jay Bruce, there are still several quality lefties available on the open market, including Jerry Blevins, who has spent the last two seasons with the Amazin’s.

Apart from Blevins, who is surprisingly still available, other names that could be appealing to the Mets are Travis Wood, J.P. Howell, Javier Lopez and Boone Logan.

Sandy Alderson likely hasn’t signed a lefty due to the fact that he doesn’t want to get locked into a long-term pact, but with it getting further and further into the offseason, a reliever could settle for a one-year deal.
