RHP Rafael Montero is expected to get the start on Tuesday when the New York Mets take on the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Montero will be pitching in place of the injured Jacob deGrom, who was diagnosed with right forearm inflammation and prescribed more rest.

Terry Collins explained that Montero will be making an abbreviated start on Saturday for Double-A Binghamton, so that he can get some work in before his assignment on Tuesday.

While filling in for deGrom last week, Montero lasted five innings against the Miami Marlins, and despite walking six batters, he allowed just two hits and finished with a scoreless 100-pitch outing.
