jon nieseThe Mets open up a wrap around series against the San Francisco Giants tonight at Citi Field. Jonathon Niese (5-6, 3.23) opposes Ryan Vogelsong (5-8, 3.94) in the 7:10 PM matchup.

Niese lost his second straight start, 5-2 on July 26th against the Brewers at Miller Park. He allowed three earned runs on five hits in 5.0 innings pitched, fanning four with two walks along the way.

The Mets have won five of their last six at Citi Field. They are 5-0-1 in their last six home series (beating the Phillies, Marlins, Braves, Rangers and Padres and splitting with the A’s). Overall the Mets are 27-24 at home this year and will play 30 of their final 54 games at home.
