The New York Mets took on the Washington Nationals tonight at CitI Field, with Bartolo Colon pitching for the Mets, and Jordan Zimmermann taking the hill for Washington.

What You Should Know:

The Mets got on the scoreboard first tonight, as Lucas Duda scored on a fielding error, making it 1-0 Mets.

The score would remain 1-0 Mets until the 7th inning, when the Nationals would add two runs on a pair of sacrifice flies from Bryce Harper and Kevin Frandsen.

Jordan Zimmermann would pitch 6.1 innings for Washington, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out four.

Bartolo Colon would pitching 7 innings for the Mets, allowing two runs (one unearned) on six hits, while walking one and striking out eight.

Travis d’Arnaud hit a solo home run, his tenth of the season, in the bottom of the ninth inning to make it 3-2 Nationals. Wilmer Flores lined a clutch hit to move the tying run, Matt den Dekker to third. However MDD would be thrown out on a play to the plate one batter later and the Nationals hung on to win.

The Nats have now beaten the Mets at home for ten straight games. No team has a longer Citi Field winning streak than the Nationals.

On deck: The Mets look to salvage the final game of the series tomorrow night at Citi Field, with Dillon Gee (4-4, 3.54) taking on Stephen Strasburg (8-10, 3.68).
