The Mets and Braves will play game two of their four-game series at Citi Field with the Mets Jacob deGrom (1-5, 3.77) opposing right-hander Julio Teheran (8-5, 2.29) on Tuesday starting at 7:10 PM.

Jacob deGrom has allowed five earned runs in his last 18.2 innings (2.41 ERA) and is 0-3 with a 2.49 ERA (seven earned runs/25.1 innings) in four home starts. The righthander has also allowed three earned runs or less in eight of his first 10 major league starts. Only four pitchers in Mets history have allowed three runs or less in nine of their first 10 major league starts: Matt Harvey, Masato Yoshii, Tom Seaver and Jim McAndrew.

Curtis Granderson hit a game-tying home run in the eighth inning of last night’s 4-3 victory over the Braves. Eight of Granderson’s team high-tying 13 home runs have either tied the score or given the Mets a lead. Granderson has three home runs and six RBI over his last six games and is hitting .308 (8-26) during this span.

David Wright is hitting .327 (17-52) over his last 13 games and has nine RBI in his last 12 games, including three home runs.

Travis d’Arnaud has a hit in 10 of his last 11 games since returning from Las Vegas and has also reached base safely in all 11 games. He is batting .286 (12-42) with two home runs and eight RBI and a .333 on-base percentage during that span.

Eric Campbell has a career-best eight-game hitting streak and is hitting .438 (14-32) during that span. He has hit safely in 17 of his 19 starts, going 27-75 (.360).

Kevin Plawecki and Noah Syndergaard have been selected to represent Team USA in the Futures Game on Sunday, July 13, It is Plawecki’s first selection and Syndergaard’s second; first being last year’s Future’s Game start at Citi Field.

The Braves and Mets play game two of four tonight. Yesterday the Mets took an early 2 run lead and Daisuke was able to ride that four 7 scoreless innings. The bullpen came in and promptly gave the lead back back and it became 3-2 Braves. Grandeson then tied in the 8th and then Tejada won it in the 11th and just like that the Mets have won 3 of their last 4 games. Jacob deGrom gets the start for the Mets tonight. On the season he is 1-5 on the season over 10 games and 59.2 innings with a 3.77 ERA. In his last two starts he has pitched 11.2 innings allowing 5 ER with 5 BB’s and 12 K’s. His last start was against the Braves where he allowed 3 ER over 5.0 innings. The Braves have the following numbers against deGrom:

  • Freeman 0-2
  • Heyward 1-3
  • Simmons 1-2
  • BJ Upton 1-2
  • Johnson 2-2, 2B

Julio Teheran gets the nod for the Braves today, he is 8-5 over 18 starts and 126.0 innings with a 2.29 ERA over the season. In his last two starts he has allowed 14.0 innings and 2 ER, and in his last start was against the Mets where he allowed 4 hits and one earned run over 7.0 innings with 3 BB’s and 5 K’s. The Mets have the following numbers against Teheran:
