The Mets will look to avoid being swept by the St. Louis Cardinals, in a Wednesday afternoon tilt at Busch Stadium.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:45 PM.

Bartolo Colon (6-5, 4.15) will look for his fifth win in his last six starts, and build on his solid 7.1 inning outing last time out.  He is up against the Cardinals Lance Lynn (7-4, 3.16).

Things haven’t looked so good for the Mets on the road recently.  They have lost their last eight road games which is their longest losing streak on the road since 1995.  The confusing part has to be that the Mets score the second most runs on the road in the National League behind the Milwaukee Brewers.

New York will be thrilled to see the series shift out of St. Louis.  With Tuesday night’s loss, the Mets have now lost their last six series in St. Louis, and 12 of their last 14 against the Red Birds at their home.  The Mets have been swept by the Cardinals in St. Louis happening last in 2009.

With his 0-for-4 night on Tuesday, Daniel Murphy slipped to third in the National League in hits.  He is sitting on 85, while Jonathan Lucroy and Paul Goldschmidt have 88.  Murph is hitting .307 on the road this season which is good for eighth in the National League.

Curtis Granderson has reached base safely in his last 26 games.  He is hitting .292 in that span hitting four home runs with 13 RBI.  He is starting to catch fire this month hitting .348.  That average is good for seventh best in the NL.  Since the beginning of May, Granderson is 41-for-145 which is .283.

Lucas Duda has now hit six doubles in his last five games, and now has nine for the month of June.  He still trails the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Andrew McCutchen for the NL lead by one.  Duda hit his team-tying ninth home run Tuesday.  He now has an extra-base hit in three straight games, and seven in his last five games.
