MMO Game Thread: Dodgers vs Mets, 7:10 PM

jon-niese

The Mets will try and avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at 7:10 PM at Citi Field. Jon Niese (2-3, 2.54) will take the mound for the Mets and will be opposed by Zack Greinke (7-1, 2.03) for the Dodgers.

Niese has gone 1-2 despite a 2.59 ERA in four home starts while receiving a combined five runs of support. He is 1-0 with a 4.09 ERA in four outings versus Los Angeles.

Greinke leads the NL in wins and has yielded two runs or fewer in 21 consecutive starts dating to last year, the longest such streak in the majors since 1914. He is 11-1 with a 1.86 ERA in his last 15 starts on the road.

Eric Campbell hit his first major league home run last night off Hyun-Jin Ryu and is batting .438 (7-16) with five RBI through his first seven major league games. Campbell’s five RBI through his first seven career games are tied for the fourth-most in team history. He is in left field tonight.

Starting Lineup

  1. Juan Lagares – CF
  2. Daniel Murphy – 2B
  3. David Wright – 3B
  4. Curtis Granderson – RF
  5. Eric Campbell – LF
  6. Lucas Duda – 1B
  7. Wilmer Flores – SS
  8. Anthony Recker – C
  9. Jon Niese – LHP

The Mets look to avoid the sweep today after another day of being so close to victory. Last night the Mets lost 4-3. There are a couple of ways to look at this. Turning a double play correctly in the game would have put the Mets in a much better position, but ultimately, like the day before, it was hitting with the bases loaded. The Mets are now 6-41 when the bases are loaded which is the type of stat that bolsters pessimistic Mets fans and boo birds. Today Jon Niese looks to get the Mets on winning path while he faces Greinke.

Niese is 2-3 on the season over 8 starts and 49.2 innings of work with a 2.54 ERA. He was off slightly in his last start at Washington allowing  3 earned runs, 5 overall, over 4.0 innings. It was the second straight start he allowed three earned runs, the first time this season. He only pitched 2.1 innings against the Dodgers last year allowing 1 earned run over 2.1 innings. The Dodgers have the following numbers against Niese:

  • Ramirez 4-17, 2B, HR
  • Uribe 0-11
  • Kemp 4-10
  • Ethier 4-10
  • Ellis 1-6
  • Gonzalez 0-3
  • Crawford 0-2

Greinke is 7-1 this season over 9 starts and 53.1 innings with a 2.03 ERA, the seven wins being a league leader. In three starts in May he has pitched 18.0 innings with a 2.00 ERA. He has faced the Mets twice in his career allowing 5 ER over 14.0 innings. The Mets have the following numbers against Greinke:

  • Granderson 7-39, 2B, 2 3B, HR
  • Abreu 7-31, HR
  • C Young 1-10, HR
  • Duda 1-3
  • Murphy 1-2
  • Wright 2-2, 2B

Lets Go Mets!

    5th isn´t cleanup

  • mattbalasis

Cleanup? Against Grienke? OMG, I give up #fireterrycollins

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

This will be the start of Mets fans slowly turning on Campbell when pitchers get a scouting report on him and he regresses to AAAA player.

    Good luck Soup
Mets fans are fair weather when it comes to loving and hating players[NOT name Wright]

  • Is that all you could say? LOL

    Here’s what I will say….

    Told you so.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

    Cannot complain about this lineup

  • metsaholic

Now, this looks like the best line-up all year. Let’s keep this one until the ASB, then reevaluate!

  • It is the best lineup all year, no doubt about that. Having the Youngs on the bench may prove fruitful tonight.

  • mets2014

    any news on d’arnaud?

  • The most athletic weatherman

Would kind of like to see Centeno in there instead of Recker. He’s looked pretty good at the plate. Recker seems like an all or nothing hitter and comes up nothing most of the time.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

    cleared of baseball activities.

  • Jeff

Glad to see Soup getting the start. I have been touting him for a while and think he has what it takes to succeed at the MLB level. CY has gotten his chance and other than Spring Training and some flashes of 2010 he hasn’t done much, and worst of all he is no longer able to impress consistently with his defense. Lagares continues to hit. I think Soup is going to take his chance and run with it. CY is here on a 1 yr deal and isn’t part of the future here. He hasn’t played well enough to get anything back in trade. Play Lagares, Campbell, and Flores everyday!

  • mets2014

    thanks

  • metsaholic

Centeno didn’t look good defensively that last couple of times I saw him. Recker is due for the long ball.

  • Stupidseasonticketholder

Lets see this line up for the rest of the home stand and evaluate. It’s almost an MLB line up. Lets go Mets…Lets go Rangers

  • konyc

Only the Mets could “resolve” a season-long controversy over OF playing time by dropping one more guy into the mix.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

    Anytime

  • TheMets philosophy

I happen to love this lineup i think its the best lineup the mets with there current roster can put out except for the catcher i’d rather d’arnoud…soup hits the ball really hard look for a big game from him

  • The most athletic weatherman

Can’t argue with you on both fronts. I thought Recker was going to hit one last night when Gary kept mentioning how he hits them in big spots. Right now he’s the most experienced (albeit limited time as well) catcher so I can’t really disagree having him in there.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

Am I the only one that thinks Soup would be a good number 2 hitter-not saying that Murphy is not and not saying that it should be now. But, if Soup can be successful and follow a similar path to his minors numbers- he doesn’t strike out at all and he has a good approach and high OBP- and is not that slow. That to me sounds like a good number 2 hitter.

  • Derpy

This is the first time I can remember that Terry Collins has played his most talented lineup.

  • konyc

The way he’s performed this year, a lot of Mets fans think he’s been “cleared of baseball activities” since Opening Day.

  • Derpy

Somebody on the team has to bat in base runners down in the lineup. You have to remember 2/3s of this team are strike out machines.

  • SouthlandMetsFan

    Good looking lineup!

Let’s hope these guys put up some runs tonight otherwise it’s back to Tejada, Abreu and one of the Youngs tomorrow!

  • metsfan79

If they stink it up the rest of the way id be fine with lineups like this. Keep tje kids pitching play yje kids everyday ill be content

  • CJM

So is Flores getting his opportunity to win the shortstop job outright?

  • MAS0031

It only took you 2 months, but good lineup tonight TC!

  • metsaholic

Look, I’d like to see d’TDA come back, but for the most part this season, he has not been very impressive. He has given no, none, zero signs that he is the good hitting catcher we were sold he would be. In any case, I feel his up side is as a number two hitter, but he’s just not showing it.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

LOL for*- Good one though @konyc:disqus

  • EzRider

I wonder if with the rash of bad luck the Rangers have had they would be willing trade partners. They may be losing Prince for the year and have a tone of pitching woes.

Could we ship Colon and Cash along with Duda for something. Maybe Sardinas and Feliz. We could sweeten the deal with something in the low minors like Fulmer.

Then we could call up M. Clark or Dykstra to play 1B, maybe see if they can contribute something for the rest of the year.

  • jaygreen55

Would you rather see EY or CY instead? For once Terry is going with the hot hand. He should keep going with him until the scouts and pitchers find out what he can’t hit and he comes back down to earth

  • SouthlandMetsFan

Chris Young is garbage and needs to be released.

EY is not an every day player.

Might as well see what Soup can do.

  • metsfan79

Better then the AAAA youngs. At least he swings and makes contact.

  • The most athletic weatherman

Flores looked great last night! He handles all the routine plays which is all you can ask of him. I think the extra base hits will come once he feels more comfortable and is worried about playing.

Maybe right now he’s worried about not striking out and just putting the ball in play…I expect more power once he settles in nicely as the everyday shortstop!!

  • Jeff

EY is solid to have on the bench. Can play corner outfield and 2B if needed although struggles defensively in limited sample size, but he has speed and is a switch hitter. Soup has never gotten his chance in MLB, let him get a bunch of starts in a row to show what he can do. denDekker is starting to get it together in Vegas now after a slow start.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

Again not complaining since I like this lineup- but I would like to see, especially if Soup starts seeing more playing time, Lagares Soup Murph in a row- They can get on base and keep rallies going bc they do not strike out every AB- Wilmer should be fine driving in runs at the bottom since he makes contact. Fair to say, with Flores and Soup in there, we should see less k’s.

  • BCleveland3381

It looks like after being called up after Ruben lost his job, then benched after Ruben was given the opportunity to win his job back, Flores has been given the chance to win the job…..or something like that.

  • konyc

Didn’t say I wanted to see either Young, but do we really think it’s Campbell/Lagares/Grandy the rest of the way? All this does is squeeze everyone’s playing time and keep the controversy burning.

  • metsaholic

He should be the starting SS for every game until the ASB or frankly, the rest the season. No doubt he will produce offensively better than Tejada. And I expect he will improve at SS.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

EY could seriously win a team 3-4 games off the bench. Think about it- if the Mets are down by one run and ANYONE gets on from 7inn on, TC should pinch run EY and we know what happens when EY is on base

  • jaygreen55

Assuming he continues to hit once the league starts to figure him out I would try batting him 2nd and slide everyone else down 1 slot. Murphy is a god #3 and Wright could hit cleanup

  • BCleveland3381

I would love to see us get ourselves a real leadoff hitter. Love Lagares, but I would love to see him hitting 2nd, 6th, or even 5th over leadoff. But with the lack of options leading off, TC is right for hitting him there.

  • mattbalasis

wait soup is 5th … actually i kind of like this lineup … never mind !!
    LGM!

  • Jeff

So far Flores has done nothing to show that he can’t play SS! He has also flashed his range on a few balls this year which it has been said he doesn’t have any. There haven’t been many difficult plays to make and the fact that he is making the routine ones is important. Flores just needs to put the ball in play and worry about nothing else. He needs to follow Murphy’s lead, base hits, slapping doubles, putting the ball in play to all fields, occasional power, but solid hitter!

  • Jeff

Agreed. We know what we have with Tejada already.

  • BCleveland3381

I agree with both, but especially the second paragraph. I really want to see Flores start driving the ball. He definitely looks like he’s just trying to make contact. I would think that with some every day ABs, he’ll get more comfortable and start looking to take some bigger cuts.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

Exactly. If he and Flores play well I would go with this- Lagares Soup Murph Wright Grandy Flores Duda TDA. Other than first two thats lefty righty splits all managers love. Flores before duda means more RBI chances to drive in runs bc he does not strike out- and I can live with Duda batting seventh.

  • Jeff

Agreed EY is a very nice utility player/spot starter.

  • metsaholic

It’s nice, but I don’t think it’s a must have. Lagares can well develop into a extra base hitter leading off. He has better than average speed. And if you’re getting production from the 7 and 8 hitter, Lagares could prove to be a high RBI man from the leadoff spot as well.

  • SouthlandMetsFan

What about Soup leading off? He reminds me of Matt Carpenter a bit, and the Cards have started him at the top.

I realize it’s a very small sample of the guy, but I like what I see. He doesn’t strike out, makes contact. I really hope the Mets find spots for him from now on.

  • Jeff

Glad to see Matt Reynolds hitting at AA. .344 .420 BA/OBP.

  • SouthlandMetsFan

You’re trying to figure out Terry’s line of thought? I would advise against that. You’ll drive yourself bonkers.

  • The most athletic weatherman

He had 5 homeruns in AAA in just 29 games before being called up and that was with him playing everyday not worrying about whether his job was jeopardy…Even singles though are more production than Tejada.

  • keith

Mixing and matching, all around the Captain. Wright, show these kids what you’re capable of. This team desperately needs a leader. P.s. hit the freakin weight room. 31 is not 21.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

    PROFAR!

  • metsaholic

Let me tell you all what’s wrong with this line up tonight…

    Hold on, I’m thinking…

    There must be something wrong…

    Anybody?

    Bueller?

  • WilponsNeed2Go

Two good lineups in a row! Wow, TC must be finally listening to Mets Twitter.

  • jaygreen55

CY has had 1/4 of a season to show he could rejuvenate his career and has only confirmed his mediocrity and while EY has been incredibly efficient at scoring runs when he does get on base he doesn’t do it enough to justify starting.

Considering that Campbell is making the minimum it makes more sense to pay 7.7 M on left field and have a productive hitter than to continue to play CY just because you gave him the contract. He and EY can be 4th/5th outfielders and hitters off the bench

  • BCleveland3381

The Mets could give Soup about a week’s worth of starts without really challenging anyone’s job. DW and Murphy could both use a day off. Any lefty and he should already be starting over Duda until the league catches up with him. No reason he shouldn’t be put in there for now.

  • willywater88

Naaaa. This is a joke. Lagares, Flores AND Campbell are in the lineup? Does that mean I have to like Terry for one day?

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

    *Reconfigures lineup*

    1. Lagares CF
    2. Flores SS
    3. Murphy 2B
    4. Duda 1B
    5. Wright 3B
    6. Granderson RF
    7. Campbell LF
    8. Recker C

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

I’m shocked in general Flores has started this entire series.

  • metsaholic

    Why?

  • BCleveland3381

But he’s a good hitter on a team with only a couple of good hitters. TDA still isn’t hitting at all. Flores might be some help at short. Basically, it’s Murphy, Wright(banking on him returning to form) and Lagares. After those 3, it’s a ton of low AVG, high K guys in the lineup. If we had a guy that could get on base in front of Murphy, Wright, and Lagares and we had those 3 ready to drive them in, we’d be better off. It’s cheaper(important for this franchise) to find a leadoff hitter than it is a cleanup hitter.

  • dave27a

Why? Right before it started, Collins declared Tejada was his guy. Nothing could be a better indication that he was headed to the bench.

  • derek murphy

Reynolds n tovar r both playing fantastic. Neither getting called up to aaa tells you they wanted to send Flores back down. Reynolds is going to be awesome and he can play multiple positions. The mets are very deep at SS contrary to what people think. They should ditch Tejada n call up tovar he can back up Flores n be a defensive replacement he’s sick with the glove. Reynolds has a good frame and is still developing his power but has an advanced bat. That made his struggles last year puzzling.

  • konyc

Again, didn’t say I wanted to see either Young, but the first time one of them is in the lineup instead of tonight’s starters, the bitchfest will continue. The Mets need to be authoritative and decisive with these issues, not needlessly create fresh headaches.

  • Nmartz

    I’d go with this.

    1. Lagares
    2. Murphy
    3. Granderson
    4. Duda
    5. Wright
    6. Flores
    7. Campbell
    8. Recker

  • MetsfanInParadise

Praise the Lord, Terry has seen the light!

  • Nmartz

Hhahahah sad but true my friend, if we dont win today that means we are cursed!. 😛 #TerryCollinsCurse

  • WillisReid

I approve. Campbell needs to be playing while he’s hot.

  • mr1313

Duda has no business being in the cleanup spot unfortunately for most he only looks attractive there because we are so anemic on offense and especially power. Grandy has shown overall from the past to have the most power potential so i don’t mind it I also like Campbell there to see how he handles the pressure.

  • sperry

Greinke may be the biggest punk in baseball. LGM

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

    Why what?

  • CJM

Their 3 hitter has an OPS of .717 and their 4 hitter has an OPS of .661.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

Duda would be fine at cleanup if he actually was there consistently.

  • Derpy

I can tell you what happened. Sandy was away for a week dealing with more important issues. He came back for a few days, figured out how much of a mess everything was, and gave that press conference about how young players are going to play more often. Terry got the message, and now the young players are going to play more often.

  • Nmartz

I belive in the Duda project. Call me stupid, but I belive in Duda.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

I want the two power guys (Duda, Grandy) around Wright while he’s batting 5th. That formula worked for him before in the past, and they should revisit it now. Murphy should be our #3 hitter right now without question and Flores should be higher.

  • Charley’s Twin

Try not to embarrass yourselves tonight. LGM.

  • BigAl831

Why on earth would you want Wright getting less AB’s than Duda and Flores? Makes no sense. Switch Wright and Flores and I’d be interested.

  • metsaholic

    I asked you first.

  • mr1313

I don’t know he’s a mental midget he doesn’t seem to handle the pressure well plus he rather walk and take pitches than drive the ball to score runs you have to have that killer mentality to hit in the 4 hole. I like him 6.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

Even though Collins always goes back on the stuff he says, he LOVES Tejada. Why else would someone would defend him as much & openly state that “Tejada is a can’t miss player”?

  • Anthony

Nice line up ive seen too much of cy.

  • Nmartz

Yes, but we need to seize grandy while he’s hot. He’s hitting well these days and honestly Wright sucks nowadays.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

I’ve already explained it below. Scroll down.

  • Nmartz

    Why ? 😛

  • Frank Francisco

Really hoping Campbell is defensively talented enough to pass in LF. Offensively Campbell > EYJ > CY

  • Andrew Herbst

Nice lineup. I needed a day off for CY.

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

How about 7th lol. Lagares Soup Murph Wright Grandy Wilmer Duda and TDA is my preference. But who am I.

  • Wolfmicky21

    He still can’t hit

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

For the same reason, I would do this lineup- Lagares Soup Murph Wright Grandy Wilmer Duda TDA

  • TAPE_LGM_JETS

I check his numbers everyday. Seems like he’s coming around- nice to see especially since he was a 3rd rounder I believe.

As has been stated many times here, Mets fans actively rooting against the team.

It’s a relatively new phenomenon that occurred here in 2011 and continues to this day, thereby reinforcing the old adage about “not being able to rebuild in NY.”

Guess making the playoffs 3 times in a quarter of a century is so much more preferable to building a real baseball team.

  • Chris H

It may not fix anything but it’s a start to try to infuse new life into this team. Collins is not and never will be an answer. Even if it doesn’t fix anything I seen enough and heard enough from this man that I want him gone yesterday.

  • TPT

    hahaha

  • WillisReid

It won’t. This team still won’t be overly talented, but a better tactician will be able to squeeze more out of what they have. Coupled with a willingness to play the higher ceiling kids, and this team will go back to being mediocre instead of crap.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

If the coaching staff (particularly Hudgens & Warthen) goes with him, then it’s a start.

  • TPT

no it wont…it will just be the start of the wait till 2015 Campaign or maybe wait till 2019 when Grandys contract is off the books

  • IndianaMet

Great lineup but TC is missing a chance to rest Wright against a tough opponent.

  • MetsFanSantaMonica

well, we can bash TC all we want (and I say, why not), but he has given us the lineup we’ve been asking for now. Time for the players to start producing.

  • WillisReid

Trades would require interest by other teams in our veteran players. The only player like that on the Mets is Murphy, and I’m not watching 4 months of this team without his bat in the line up.

  • Chris H

No they will without a doubt do something. They will not sit again like last year. They can’t and they know it now. They make not make the right moves but you can count on it moves will happen

  • TPT

thats just great then they name Hudgens manager knowing this pathetic organization

  • Chris H

Ok the Syndagaard, Murphy , and Montero and another low prospect for Stanton. I would do it in a second

  • Chuck

What grapevine? I really would like to have that hope! Bring on Wally!

  • TPT

id like to believe you but nahhhh it was just last week that SA said TCs doing a excellent job and SA is a do nothting GM i doubt he make a change at least not during the year

  • TPT

DID HE BORROW SAs ROLEX??? he better give back then

  • WillisReid

Of course you would, which is why the Marlins probably wouldn’t.

    I wouldn’t either.

  • TPT

    i agree Willis

  • cjr45

You would do the trade The Marlins however say no

  • Chris H

When a GM on an underperforming team tells the media that his manager is doing a great job that is usually the kiss of death c’mon. You don’t really believe him

  • Charley’s Twin

To be sure, Terry has done nothing to deserve to keep his job, and isn’t worth defending. I just can’t imagine that whoever is his (hypothetical) replacement would be any different–the new guy will be a tool of the Wilpons.

  • Charley’s Twin

god, no murphy in this lineup and things will get ugly out there.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Hudgens is a much bigger villain in this piece than Warthen, who apparently can number Dick-K among his modest successes

  • Chris H

You don’t know that. They are gonna have to move Stanton and why not sell high with him.

  • TPT

THE MARLINS WOULD LAUGH IN SAs FACE and the Wilpons would be sweating bullets trying to figure out how to come up with 200 million that it will cost to sign him after next year

  • Chris H

You get Stanton in this lineup you will forget who Murphy was lol

  • MetsfanInParadise

As I’ve been insisting most conspicuously for the last couple of months-the first part, anyway. I still think they have enough talent to be an above average team with the right leadership

  • TPT

    one problem….TC is SAs man

  • Charley’s Twin

well, we won’t get Stanton, and Murphy is a likely candidate for a Wilponzi salary dump

  • MetsfanInParadise

And just how reliable are your connections? I tend to take such commenter pronouncements with a large grain of salt

  • Chris H

Laugh in his face ????? Umm no. Look at what we are offering. I guy who is a 300 hitter and a line drive hitter( goes with there park) and 2 very very good pitchers. And with Jose out they would not laugh at that offer.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

You don’t watch MLB Network, do you?

  • cjr45

Pretty sure other teams can beat your offer

  • TPT

makes no difference on the open market in 2015 when he can be a FA hes gonna want the new going rate 20-25 million per year for lots of yrs and the Dodgers and the Yanks wont blink a eye and the Wilpons will wet their pants just at the thought of paying him that money soooo aint gonna happen their not gonna trade those guys to rent Stanton for a yr

  • WillisReid

I don’t think the Wilpons want Bobby Abreu getting starts while Lagares sits on the bench, same for the Tejada and Flores situation. Winning is a non issue right now,but if they are trying to sell whatever tickets they can, all they have to sell to the fans is the youth.

  • TPT

and pay him to keep him

  • Chris H

It’s been 3 years already I don’t care who’s man TC is we keep losing TC is gone very soon

  • WillisReid

They might have to, they might not. But he will be a very expensive FA soon and the Wilpon’s aren’t handing out 6 figure contracts in the near future. So we give up that much to rent him for a couple years?

  • QueensRussell

This is the lineup but Wright and Granderson should be reversed.

  • WillisReid

They seems to be as well of with pitching prospects as the Mets. Just because that’s all we have to offer, doesn’t mean that’s what they would want.

  • SinHalo27

Better shot at trying to get Goldschmidt or Mauer for 1B- teams that are down & out- the Marlins aren’t having a fire sale- they’re building for the future too and Stanton is a cornerpiece.

  • Jgreen

Is Eric Young and Chris Young “benched” finally?

  • TPT

Monteros stock has gone down a little with his last start and Syndergaard is just a prospect at this point and if we had Stanton and the Marlins offered you A prospect who might be good and Montero and a Daniel Murphy? would you do it?

  • MetsfanInParadise

praise the Lord, Terry has seen the light

  • TPT

lol tell it to SA not me im just a suffering fan here

  • WillisReid

I’d have to think this FO would be very interested in Anthony Rizzo if the Cubs were open to moving him. He walks a ton and hits for power. Power being a relative term if you play 81 games at Citi.

  • Metfan9876

You are really undervaluing Syndergaard. Prospects have a lot of value these days and the #3 pitching prospect in all of baseball is a pretty big piece for just about any deal.

  • Chris H

Yes give up that much to have a shot at Stanton. The 2 pitchers I listed Noah and Montero are talented but haven’t accomplished anything yet. Murphy is very good but with Stanton you will forget Murph. And a lot can happen with the franchise monetary problem by the time Stanton comes a FA. All I’m saying is if it could be done they should do it

  • For today.

  • TPT

any deal maybe but not the Marlins and not for the best young slugger in baseball because to the Marlins hes a good prospect who hasnt thrown one pitch in the majors yet and hate to say this they have more young pitching prospects and young pitchers than we do and most are as good or better

  • Metfan9876

Perhaps. But the Cubs aren’t trading Rizzo and it’s unlikely that the D-Backs are willing to trade Goldschmidt at the moment.

  • Metropolitan

Bob Geren will be our next manager if they show collins the door and that is not a good thing

  • Metfan9876

Not entirely true. The Marlins pitching is close/equal to the Mets and I’d say they are about tied. However, the problem is that because the Marlins pitching is pretty close/equal to ours, they have no reason to trade for any more young arms from us.

  • TPT

well thanks for making my point i appreciate it

  • Chris H

They will never be able to sign Stanton after next year. Stanton is gone from Miami this year or next.

  • TPT

did you ever consider that just maybe Stanton loves it in Miami …dont be so sure he gone and dont be so sure they dont pay to keep their most valuable piece it was only last year that they took on a huge payroll and dumped salary but that doesnt mean their FLAT broke like the Wilpons

  • upandadam

If it’s even possible, the Marlins are even cheaper than the mets. No way they want Murph who’s a free agent after next season. I’d do my best to not trade Syndergaard but im sure he’ll have to be in the deal. BUT if we could get away with not trading him, I’d happily do Wheeler, Montero, Plawecki, Puello/other.

  • Metfan9876

Not really. You said the Marlins had more and better young pitchers than we do, which is not true.

  • Chris H

Stanton loves the money more then Miami. His agent also would tell him kid in NY you would become a king. He doesn’t get that in Miami. Fans still don’t go to their games.

  • WillisReid

Yeah, I know. He’s not going anywhere:-(

  • Chris H

They could sign Murph he is perfect for their park and and with Stanton out it shouldn’t be a problem

  • upandadam

Well Uggla is in Atlanta so IDK where that’s coming from. Murph is a nice player, but if they were going to spend the money to resign someone, it’d be Stanton who is a cornerstone type player.

  • Chris H

I know I was kidding lol

  • upandadam

Bring up Backman! He’ll light a fire under their @sses!

  • Chris H

I don’t think they would have a problem signing Murph with Stanton gone

  • Chris H

    It

  • Waz0787

    He hits only singles

  • Waz0787

    The whole organization sucks

  • upandadam

Wright and Murph should be switched

  • HarveyKsYou

I assume my email was not sent? And how do you guys get permission to interview the players?

  • Benny

No complaints against TC today, just shocking!

  • Destry

You need to get in touch with reality. Stanton will never play here. You don’t trade the farm for one player when you are in last place.

  • You’ve seen Terry’s post game interviews, here’s one of his pre game interviews. The guy in front of us is Anthony DiComo.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeq5XnC0Xdw&feature=youtu.be

  • TPT

well if money the thing he wants hes not gonna play for the Mets because we could never pay him what the Yanks or Dodgers can and will

  • Destry

    Neither will we

  • TPT

my comments didnt start with you they started with Brian and you commented to them and my point to him was they would never make a trade of Snydergaard Murphy and Montero for Stanton for exactly the reasons you stated so again thanks

  • donobrien

This is the lineup I wanted and said so on David Conde’s article about Eric Campbell earlier today. Win or lose tonight, we have our best hitting team on the field tonight. I predict we will have over 5 runs tonight.

  • MikeBedlam

    I think I’m actually drooling.

Campbell in the 5-hole is a strong statement.

BUUUUTTTTT!!!!!! (And I mean a big Kardashian-style butt here, fellas) Any chance that these guys are in the lineup with TC hoping they will fail against Greinke? Or can we honestly believe that he’s trying to ride the “hot hand”? Hot hand is in quotations because I’m leaning more towards the fact that these guys are actually playing far closer to their actual abilities as opposed to being “hot”. Historically, TC has had some pretty strange ideas of what constitutes a “hot” player (eg, Tejada, Ruben).

    /tin foil hat mode

This post is an example of why me posting drunk is better for the classroom.

  • TPT

and you couldnt sign him long term cause your broke so yea hes not about to be traded here

  • You’re Mr. Met?

MMO was the first independent blog that was ever credentialed by MLB in 2009. Other blogs would’t get that privilege until 2011.

  • TPT

he should of given us the line up that made most sense from the get go instead of telling Mets fans we have no clue whats going on…its pathetic we seem to know more then he does..so he gets no credit what so ever

  • Frank Francisco

The fact that Eric Campbell is our 5-hitter says a lot about the talent level on this team.

    …and that’s nothing against Eric Campbell… It’s just… come on…

  • bostongregg

I think the problem is, at the end of the day, whether it’s Campbell or Duda or Tejada or Flores or EY or CY or whomever…..they are all tremendously flawed players (or, in the case of Flores, forced to play out of position)……they would not be on the field for any extended period of time for a winning team…..and, by the way…..i’m two vodka’s behind you but I’m comin’ up fast.

  • HarveyKsYou

No. My email has my name in it. Should I just send it again and you can give me the email to send it to? Sorry for all the hassle. I know you care about the viewers of this site and I found it odd how I never got a reply, so if figured maybe it didn’t send.

  • Shaun

OT, but the Rangers are really taking it on the chin injury-wise this year. Profar out 8-12 weeks with an arm injury and Fielder most likely done for the season with a neck injury

  • Email me directly at GetMetsmerized@aol.com.

  • Russ

Thanks for the videos Joe D.

  • TPT

thank you Joe D that was so interesting and we never get to see this stuff i appreciate it

  • CyYout

Did the official Mets twitter handle just say Lagares has All-Star potential? Talk about sending mixed messages…

  • BarnRat

Flores batting .318. I mentioned this last evening, but I really like small sample-sizes when they support my point of view 😉

  • Joey D.

    Hi Shaun,

    DON’T DO THAT!

Thought the hockey game already started and the Broadway Blues were really taking it on the chin at the Garden in game three! LOL

  • Evidence that Terry Collins isn’t running Mets Twitter. 🙂

    https://twitter.com/Mets/status/469602756114657280

  • Shaun

Hahahah my bad Joey! I’m an Islanders fan so I tend to forget that there are hockey teams that actually make the playoffs.

  • Metfan9876

And my point was that you undervalued one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, and that you were wrong in saying that the Marlins young pitching is superior to ours. So thanks for missing my points, buddy.

  • Destry

    Yep

  • Big night for Jenrry Mejia.

Terry says he will pitch tonight and have back to back appearances for the first time in his career.

If he feels good tomorrow, he’ll be announced as Mets closer.

  • Not4

Why look at an entire career worth of stats, or even last year, when it is much easier to minimize Wright by pointing to his slow start this year and deem it the new norm?

  • MLBGM Fire TC

TC press confrence, ” i called wally” to ask about camble, yea he should call wally every night a few times a game and have wally tell him how to manage

  • TPT

BIG Islander fan living in So. Cali dont worry our time will come again ( ughh sounds just like the Mets) p.s. im ok with the Rangers and Ducks too

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Lolol the kid can hit, he should play every day for the rest of the year. No reason not to

  • MLBGM Fire TC

I think the mets , for now, should not use twitter or any social media.

  • Shaun

Yeah man with the talent coming up the future is bright. I’ll be really happy if the rumors that Wang wants to sell are true. Can’t constantly be at the salary cap floor.

  • Metfan9876

I really, really hope one of Nimmo, Smith or Rosario can turn into a superstar one day. We need a great hitter in our lineup so badly and the Mets have to start developing some good position players.

  • Russ

They are actually a lot worse off. They lost Derek Holland who was their #2 starter, Martin Perez their #3 starter, Tanner Scheppers who filled in for an injured Darvish for opening day, Matt Harrison #5 starter, Figuerora and Ortiz who were in the bullpen, Kouzmanoff who filled in for Adrian Beltre who was on the DL. Soto and Profar, both who were supposed to be opening day catcher and 2nd baseman. There are at least four others and unfortunately most are 60 days to indef.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Islander fan here too, ugh i can say i cant wait for football season! At least i root for one well run organization , big blue!

  • Mejia is really loving his new role and is hoping he could become the closer, but will be happy with setup too.

I’ll have a full post on Mejia in the morning, but it’s clear where this is heading. Mejia has the stuff to become an elite closer.

  • Metfan9876

Great to hear. He’s been very enjoyable to watch in the bullpen 🙂

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Imagine if wong sells and the willpons sell, my god! Will be a crazy happy day

  • TPT

Why is it everything we as Met fans said FIRST are only now be done..??P.S. remember all the negative comments on here when you i and others received when we first suggested this i.e. badbad leroy telling me im ridiculous lol for even thinking about it…NOW THEY ALL LOVE MEJIA IN THE PEN haha wow

  • MikeBedlam

Absolutely. Duda, Tejada, EY, and CY are all bench players on a winning team.
I’ll withhold judgement on Campbell until I see more of what he’s actually capable of at an MLB level. Although even HE seems to know that that is what he is.
Flores doesn’t have enough time yet either to know if he’s truly a difference maker, but I do agree with your overall point.

  • BarnRat

My God, these last few posts, someone has changed the meds being prescribed for the Mets brass

  • MetsfanInParadise

I watch less when the Mets aren’t winning and I avoid Harold Reynolds like the plague. He’s such an idiot he makes me want to throw things at the TV. Plus i don’t usually have time to turn on the TV in the middle of the afternoon. Besides, their sources are no more reliable than the newspaper writers, and we’ve seen some unlikely rumors in print. A couple of times we were reported to be close to a deal with Drew.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

He does have the stuff hopefully the arm can handle it, i hope he can close for us for the next 15 years!

  • 2rings

agree Joe, I think the only thing in his way is his mental roadblock of being hurt as a reliever the first go around

  • TPT

i said it at the start of the season he has the stuff to be a great closer im really happy it turned out this way …LGM

  • For a clubhouse that has been very quiet the first two games of the homestand, lots of smiling, laughing and buzzing going on. Seeing Mejia, Flores, Campbell and Lagares joking around and laughing and it’s contagious, The younger players are generating some enthusiasm. Said one writer, “It’s about damn time. It’s a f**king game.”

  • Taskmaster4450

A “replacing” is more than one game.

Let us see what Collins has up his sleeve next.

  • Chris H

Didn’t SA say you hope by May/June you have a somewhat consistent lineup card every game? I hope Terry got that memo and sticks with a consistent lineup not flip flopping guys from now on

  • MetsfanInParadise

David Wright has 28 hits this month, the second-most in the National League, one behind Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers.
    Hard to believe

  • I’ll post anything that my guys send me from the game tonight if it’s interesting. Everyone is getting kicked up to the press box as the team gets ready to play the game.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Backman should take them all out to a bar and have some fun!

  • Metropolitan

  • Joey D.

Justin Turner coming up on pre-game show. Wonder if he will be asked about his comments two months ago

  • MetsfanInParadise

Lots of bloops and infield singles, no less. He doesn’t strike one as a hot hitter

  • TPT

    lmao i know right

  • Taskmaster4450

It is the “quietest” 28 hits you will ever see.

  • BCleveland3381

At some point teams are going to start moving in on him and making him hit it over their heads.

  • Chris H

5 games below .500 and counting. It’s getting hard to be optimistic again. Life of a Met fan I guess.

  • NewYorkMammoths

All month, he’s looked like he’s about to cry.

Edit: Which proves he’s a Mets fan.

  • Taskmaster4450

That could mean June 30th….still plenty of time to mess around.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Jonathon Niese has four outings this season where
he’s pitched 6.0 or more innings and allowed one run or less…Only
eight other NL pitchers have more such starts…Niese is 13th in the
    National League with a 2.54 ERA…He is holding lefties to a .185
batting average, the seventh-lowest mark among NL
starters…He has a 2.13 ERA (nine earned runs/38.0 innings) at
night…Since returning from the Disabled List on August 11, 2013,
Niese has gone 7-5 in 18 starts and has compiled a 2.80 ERA (36
    earned runs/115.2 innings pitched).

i hope its true but i do believe the playoffs are in sight again and last year with out JT they played pretty good hockey so im optimistic

  • MLBGM Fire TC

I like wright, i think hes a real good player, glad hes still on the mets

  • Chris H

From your lips to Gods ears I hope so lol

  • MetsfanInParadise

Who are these “in-game hosts” who are judging Banner Day? we don’t get them on the MLB broadcasts online

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Sandy would LOVE that

  • Joey D.

    Hi MLBGM,

I feel the same way about David. But so many are talking about his swing and not hitting with the authority for the extra base hit as we all know.

Anyone think he has adjusted his swing to compensate for Citi Field? I doubt it but it’s a thought that just entered my mind, considering the talk about power hitting being a waste.

  • BurnInHellWilpons

    What did he say joey?

  • MetsLGM

So how long until flores gets higher up in this lineup? I say he and campell should switch up but very glad to see him a lagaras in here tonight. Niese im confident he’ll give us a good outing today. LGM !

  • MLBGM Fire TC

I think he will be fine, i think opposing pitchers know hes the only guy and he dosnt get much to hit.

  • Chris H

His crying making millions a year and my crying are not in the same ballpark lol

  • MetsLGM

hopefully thats the plan lol 🙂

  • Frank Francisco

Yeah he’s been hitting pretty well, just not with the power we’ve all come to expect.

  • Russ

Good stat breakdown. With greinke throwing for the dodgers, sounds like it will be a 0-0 score going into the 9th

  • MLBGM Fire TC

True, but his bosses are tc, sandy and the willpons. Also his baseball life is now stuck and isnt looking like he will get a ring with these fools running the ship. Yes hes making money, but so are other players on playoff teams.

  • Shaun

I think he looks really defensive up at the plate. A lot of his swings he looks like he’s hesitant to take.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

The only ones I take their word for are either Verducci or Heyman.

  • MetsLGM

The mets when we expect them to do bad kinda do good sometimes or just do worse, i hope we surprise grienke with a few early hits the best chance we have

  • About Wright, Terry said….

While Wright is the easy target for blame as the Mets’ captain and highest-paid player, the truth is he is far from the only one responsible for the Mets’ offensive struggles.

The Mets didn’t score in either the third or seventh innings on Wednesday, when right fielder Curtis Granderson struck out to leave the bases loaded and left fielder Chris Young grounded out with two runners on, respectively.

“There’s a couple other guys you’ve got to turn to once in a while,” Collins said before the game, when he wasn’t referring to any player in particular. “That’s why I told David before: Be a good hitter. Just be a good hitter.

“And he is a good hitter. But it’s like he said the other day: There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to be frustrated once in a while. It comes with being in the game.”

Collins said Wright’s problem is two-pronged, albeit simple: (1) He is being pitched to carefully with runners on base because he is the Mets’ best hitter and (2) he is growing increasingly frustrated by it.

“It’s really tough to let the other team’s star beat you,” Collins said. “That was told to me a long, long time ago by one of the great managers in baseball, who said, ‘It’s always easy to explain when the game’s over that someone else beat you but not the best hitter in the lineup.'”

  • wilponzi

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

Backman said he’s a run producer, which confuses me why he isn’t the #2 hitter right now. Move Murph to 3rd and you have a decent top of the order with Lagares, Flores and Murphy.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

Guys are being put in the wrong spots. Personally, Campbell should be 7th in this lineup.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Exactly no protection, no #4 hitter

  • Chris H

Terry said he called Wally to get insight if soup can play the OF. Wonder if Terry likes talking to Wally. Maybe a feeling that he doesn’t want to give him to much credit for anything lol

  • bspo1

there is literally 0 fans in the stands, I love it.

  • Joey D.

    Hi bspo,

That’s because Joe D’s guys have made it back to the press box. 🙂

  • MetsfanInParadise

As far as I’m concerned anyone who blames Wright needs his head examined. If the rest of the team was hitting anywhere near decently all his singles and doubles would have much more a of an effect, “keeping the line moving.” If the only way we can score is if he homers, there’s clearly something wrong with the rest of the offense.

  • Joey D.

Hope this is a good game to watch tonight. Hate it when I’m looking forward to the commercials.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Then all those warning track balls will fall in

  • MetsfanInParadise

If the team brings someone up it’s to play. The defiance is in keeping them on the bench

  • Tonight may be the lowest announced attendance of the season. Not a good thing going into Memorial Day weekend when things traditionally heat up at the turnstiles.

  • Joey D.

Nothing out of the ordinary BIHW. Pie throwing leave to someone else. Loves playing at home, looked forward to coming to NYC and checked the schedule to see.

  • Anthony

With Greinke on the mound all signs lean towards a met loss. But I think we come out on top

  • mets4lyfe

It seems to me that Terry waits for a young player to fail so he can immediately take them out of the line-up the next day. If Wilmer has one 0-3 night, he’s not going to be seeing any action the next game.

  • Joey D.

    Hi Anthony,

Hey we got a chance. THought Greinke was pitching! LOL

  • AJF

Good ! Ownership and the front office deserves it

  • Anthony

    Spell check changed it haha

  • BCleveland3381

Especially considering we have a big name team in the Dodgers visiting with a superstar that might be the most polarizing guy in baseball in Yasiel Puig.

    Wait until the Padres visit…

  • MetsLGM

I was kind of scared he wouldnt be in tonight be being that him and Juan combined for half of our hits last night he had no choice.

  • Anthony

All the old dodger fans are gone

  • Joey D.

Ah shucks, thought there was a last minute change in starters.

  • mets4lyfe

“1) He is being pitched to carefully with runners on base because he is the Mets’ best hitter”

I’m not sure if this excuse has any merit anymore. Pitchers have challenged Wright this year more than I’ve seen them the past couple of years. Wright’s unable to catch up to fastballs belt-high or around the middle of the plate. Sorry to say this, but pitchers are not pitching him any differently than they pitch most hitters in the Mets line-up.

  • Anthony

    Me too

  • Joey D.

    Hi Joe,

I think the “announced” attendance figure will be quite different from the number actually in the stands.

  • All the seats at field level are covered with Dodgers caps.

  • Metropolitan

    here we go

  • mets4lyfe

This was the Wilpons vision; Dodgers playing well at Citi Field. He must be shedding tears right now.

  • Joey D.

    Hi Joe,

Oh, I know that. It’s now a league rule. Decades ago NL announced actual turnstile crowd while AL went on tickets sold. And even with that difference, NL still outdrew the junior circuit.

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

What makes that different from any other night exactly?

  • MetsLGM

Greinke throws first pitch strikes almost all the time. We’ll see how the Mets approach him. The difference between 7 IP 2 ER and 9 IP 0 R

  • Charley’s Twin

    This isn’t changing Saul’s mind!

  • I don’t really know, rarely listen to radio. I’d actually like to know if he has myself.

  • MetsLGM

Need to get hits early on before greinke gets in a groove, or 1 run will seem so far away

  • Waz0787

Wish Greinke pitched for the mets

  • Manager of The Year

Well at least I have Grienke on my fantasy team…

  • MetsLGM

We got wheels though :p haha

  • Andrew Herbst

Great article about Grienke in SI from 2009.

  • Waz0787

I like this young lad.. He reminds of myself reading his comments.

  • MyasDaddy

I don’t get to listen to Howie often. I wish I did. Is that something you can ask others and find out?

  • Metropolitan

perfect spot for wright to get one of his famous cheap singles

  • Joey D.

I’m Jewish and said on our Passover Seder the youngest asks the elders “why is this night different from all other nights?” and that we were going to change the traditional answer to “it isn’t”.

  • George_Theodore

those new animated graphics throw him off

  • Wish Wright would try to pull the ball more, look at that power to left field. Reminiscent of 06-08.

  • Anthony

    I got puig

  • Waz0787

    I know coropal single

  • Charley’s Twin

    Hi Joey,
I’m not Jewish and I feel a spiritual connection with this new saying.

  • MetsLGM

Grienke just throw a slider outside and get it over with lol

  • Manager of The Year

Also got Hanley Gordon and Kemp. I may just be a closet dodgers fan without knowing it

  • Charley’s Twin

I never thought I’d see the Mets go down 1-2-3 to start the game.

  • Waz0787

Joe D. We are stuck with him for looooooooong time sigh

  • Metropolitan

    you suck wright

  • MetsfanInParadise

Now he can double up up and in or go with the slidepiece

  • George_Theodore

    lol

  • Joe

    David Wright is some ass

  • Anthony

Haha I try an spread the wealth

  • Joey D.

    Hi Charley,

Well, David just took a called strike three, so there is indeed a spiritual connection we can all identify with. 🙂

  • PessiMets

This has shutout written all over it

  • MetsfanInParadise

Pretty much EVERYONE sucks against Greinke

  • Metropolitan

take you wright “canvas” print and shove it

  • MetsLGM

Always a called strike 3 with him, just swing more often wright you look like a fool standing there while the dodger players are going back to the dugout

  • Waz0787

That’s right metropolitan let them know.

  • igotadose

Howie points out the Mets failings. Like, Wright with 2 home runs and Levin mentions it was probably the worst pitch Greinke will throw tonight. They’re not kind, started out talking about the blown double play last night. Sure sounds like the stadium’s empty.

  • Metjorge

We should bring the RF fence in for David.

  • MetsLGM

who the hell is this guy?

  • Kevin H

That’s not the Alderson/Hudgins philosophy. You can only swing at pitches right down the middle.

  • Joey D.

    Hi Charley,

Oh, you must have a vintage 1950’s tube tv and it takes a few minutes to warm up so you usually miss the first inning!

  • Mets have to get a couple of runs and keep the Dodgers from scoring any more runs if they want to win this one. When Greinke has a two run lead, he hasn’t lost in almost two years.

  • Anthony

    His pop was pretty good

  • Andrew Herbst

Scott Van Slyke. Son of Andy Van Slyke.

  • MyasDaddy

    It is. Mostly Dodger fans

  • Kevin H

I wonder if Dodgers would give us Puig for deGrom, Montero, and Flores.

  • Manager of The Year

Not even TDA has watched pitches down the middle thanks to Hudgens

  • Anthony

Thanks I got a good book to read

  • MetsLGM

I got the name part lol. just never heard of him before though im confident he is better than someone we are sporting in our lineup.

  • Jgreen

They have to win WS this year.

  • metsfan79

It’s ok boys the young guys don’t know we stink so they will succeed. Lagares, flores and soup they’ll get it going tonight

  • MyasDaddy

Looks like a rerun of big bang theory. Least I can laugh instead of cry tonight.

  • MetsLGM

adding in thor with that and still a no. lol

  • Andrew Herbst

Lol. You are right. I wish we had him in our lineup.

  • Kevin H

Hell, I’ll throw in C Young too if they need an extra OF.

  • Small market Pittsburgh decides that millions be damned, they didn’t want to waste a roster spot on unproductive Wandy Rodriguez.

  • Metjorge

    Maybe if you include Harvey.

  • Joey D.

    Hi 79,

You’re forgetting who their hitting coach is and the GM who is running the show.

  • Nice grab by Grandy.

  • Metropolitan

I doubt the Dodgers trade Puig he is BIG there,i don’t think their fans would be happy, more likely to trade Kemp before Puig

  • MetsfanInParadise

I have a feeling success and the respect that comes with it do a lot for social anxiety disorder

  • Jgreen

    Grandyman!

  • Manager of The Year

Sigh if we only we did that with someone. Hint Hint

  • MetsLGM

That was close.. granderson going to stop being able to make routine plays too?

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Hint, hint

  • George_Theodore

    Thor & Wright

  • Manager of The Year

Grienke has more power than Tejada!!!

  • Jgreen

    More power than Wright?

  • MetsLGM

Grienke would bat cleanup in our lineup lol

  • Kevin H

    A guy can dream, right?

  • while holding Polanco back to avoid Super 2

  • Metjorge

My feeling is that these “small market teams” always have money to spend, they just choose not to. In our case, the Wilpons are just broke.

  • Niese isn’t fooling anyone right now. Dodgers are getting some good rips. Second time around the lineup could get ugly if Niese doesn’t adjust.

  • Andrew Herbst

I’d take Grienke in our lineup.

  • Metropolitan

true I dream of us getting Stanton

  • Charley’s Twin

    Go Rangers

  • MetsLGM

Yeah he just takes those pitches and grounds out to shortstop or something.

  • Joey D.

I think he might have more hits too…..

  • MLBGM Fire TC

    Tc is the manager

  • Greinke’s first 5 seasons: 4.28 ERA 1.388 WHIP

  • MetsLGM

can we sign dontrelle willis to hit for us? 😛

  • Anthony

I didn’t need to see that double play blunder again

  • MetsLGM

I dont want to see duda hit, his passiveness at the plate is going to annoy me.

  • Trust your feelings.

  • Charley’s Twin

    seriously

  • Metropolitan

someone should let them know the horse is in fact dead already ..

  • Joey D.

Yeah, I was wondering why they were showing that again, not because it wasn’t worth discussing but because that they didn’t get a memo from the front office or owners telling them not to!

  • MetsLGM

Is what im saying, maybe he gets his control down and becomes our version of him 🙂 but for now he is a 3 on his best day at this development so far

  • Anthony

I lost sleep over that play it’s still painfully fresh

  • With Jeff Wilpon assuming some new editorial responsibilities at SNY, look for them to torture us more often than usual.

  • mets4lyfe

Greinke used to sit 94-97 mph back in the day

  • MetsfanInParadise

Keith REdundantly REemphasizes and REiterates, but it’s OK with me. Hey, he’s Keith Hernandez

  • George_Theodore

    I hope that’s a joke!

  • Grandy working him

  • MetsLGM

Granderson hanging in there why not? lets get this guys pitch count up !

  • Greatest player in Mets history. Just ask him

  • MetsfanInParadise

Yeah, but Ronnie made the same point I made last night. The coach goes out and makes absolutely certain the pitcher knows what to do.

  • Joey D.

Now you see Soup is doing something all wrong. He’s studying Greinke from the on deck circle, practicing his swing and judging how he will then “hunt” for his pitch to hit. He should practice just keeping the bat on his shoulders as taught by Hudgens and Alderson.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    and my ATF

  • Manager of The Year

Seaver ain’t got sh!t on Grienke

  • George_Theodore

greatest announcer.. besides the original 3

  • Metropolitan

    Grandy!!!

  • Charley’s Twin

    Nice!

  • MetsLGM

He can just leave his bat in the batter’s circle lol

  • metsfan130

    Wow Grandy great AB.

  • atta boy Grandy! I hope Juan is taking notes. THAT is when it is worth taking the risk going for 3

  • MetsfanInParadise

Darling is a better analyst, AND he has a better vocabulary

  • Anthony

Kemp is shaky on that one

  • Charley’s Twin

    1. Great job by Granderson
    2. Wow Kemp is really not the same anymore

  • Jgreen

    Grandyman!!

  • and he talks about himself less

  • George_Theodore

    i coulda caught that!

  • Joey D.

Great Grandy Come on Soupy Sales

  • Manager of The Year

    Watch Grandy not score…

  • iwamofo

    Lagares catches that ball easily

  • soup time!

  • MetsLGM

Nice AB ! Now whatever you do dont strike out ! which grienke can easily do to a mets hitter

  • SinHalo27

    Epic AB by Grandy!

  • jason bay

    Can’t wait.

  • mets4lyfe

I remember when Greinke would hit 99 mph with his fastball.

  • George_Theodore

he stopped.. he only went to 3rd because Kemp screwed up

  • Anthony

    Easily

  • MetsLGM

epic fail by kemp when you look at it again :p works for me though !

  • MetsfanInParadise

2 chances for a sac fly

  • Joey D.

    four stars!

  • Tommy

Best AB of the year so far for Grandy!

  • sure – but the situation warranted it

  • SinHalo27

    a little slippage, E8

  • MetsfanInParadise

It looked like he was seeing the ball well

  • George_Theodore

    Soup!

  • Metropolitan

    productive out

  • nice work Grandy, nice work Soupy

  • MyasDaddy

    Back to back good ABs

  • With that hit, Granderson is now over .300 in May with a .395 OBP and .530 SLG.

  • Metjorge

Campbell fought a very well pitched at bat by Greinke. Nice job.

  • Jgreen

    Great soup!

  • MetsLGM

Oh goodness, my heart was in my throat when it landed in puigs glove. Lagaras is betterrr 😉

  • Quick trade him! 😉
    kidding. Love Grandy

  • Anthony

    Soups on

  • George_Theodore

finally we score a run from 3rd with less than 2 out! not rocket science

  • Andrew Herbst

    I like that idea.

  • MetsLGM

Best part about this, duda will get a hit because no one is on base. Or a walk lol

  • Me too. We have lots of problems, Granderson ain’t one of them.

  • donobrien

Give me a break, sonny. Born in May, 1934, and a huge Brooklyn fan before I could walk. All of Brooklyn loved the Bums. But the Los Angeles version was never my team.

There are still plenty of Brooklyn Dodger fans around, but the Mets became our new team in 1962.

  • Andrew Herbst

    Nice ab by Soup.

  • Joey D.

I felt that Grandy would be able to beat that out because Soup did lift it deep enough.

  • MetsfanInParadise

I’d really like to see us break Greinke’s streak tonight

  • Charley’s Twin

pitch count creeping up for zack…

  • You know who is? Tejada and CY. You heard it here first

  • Anthony

    A clutch walk

  • MetsLGM

Loved it when the cubs of all people broke tanankas streak.

  • Wolfmicky21

Scoring question – if duda and Flores both struck out, would the run be unearned to the pitcher. The run wouldn’t have scored but for the error…

  • George_Theodore

    Greinke’s a little cranky..

  • metsfan130

To all those who were upset about missing out on Grant Balfour… He is currently sporting a 5.71 ERA and just blew another game for Tampa Bay. I’m good with Jenrry.

  • MetsfanInParadise

I was just thinking that. Good spot here for a Flores blast

  • Joey D.

Wonder if Grenike is just bored having to pitch against the Mets – which is our secret weapon – lull the opponents to sleep.

  • MetsLGM

I thank baseball for the cubs everyday, we arent the worst because of them 🙂

  • Flores getting benched asap swinging at first 2 pitches lol

  • He’s hitting .326 with runners on and .375 with RISP. Last year wants its busted criticism back

  • SinHalo27

    TC’s world famous: rope-a-dope

  • Charley’s Twin

OH MY GOD WHAT A CATCH

  • FU PUIG

  • George_Theodore

    OMG!!

  • Joey D.

WHAT A CATCH! wHAT A CATCH

  • MetsLGM

    He did not .-.

  • metsfan79

    Wow.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Good. Put him off his game

  • Charley’s Twin

as great a play as you’ll ever see

  • Metropolitan

    screw you puig

  • Andrew Herbst

    What a catch by Puig!

  • SinHalo27

    Puig making highlight films everywhere!

  • Anthony

    Robbed

  • George_Theodore

    great catch! Lagares-like

  • mr mojo risin

    Puig’d

  • Jgreen

    i hate you puig

  • nice almost hit Flores

  • everybodysbuddy

    Wow

  • Taskmaster4450

    Flores robbed. That hurts.

  • Joey D.

    That’s a swoboda catch

  • MetsLGM

Terry will blame flores for that ball not landing faster

  • Metjorge

    Thats an outfielder.

  • iwamofo

Hey Sandy, when can we get our own Cuban star?

  • MetsfanInParadise

JEEZ. Can’t blame Flores for that. He hit it well. Good opposite field power

  • MetsLGM

Lagaras says to himself, eh i can do better :p

  • Sure was.

  • metsfan79

Poor wilmer hes going to the bench now. Too much contact

  • IfYouSheaSo

Glad he dropped that throw to 1st or we’d be watching that play for 10 years

  • MetsLGM

duda must be out of breath running back

  • SinHalo27

Not to be overlooked- Flores is starting to tattoo the baseball. TC should take note and not pull a…well…not pull a TC move and make Flores disappear for a week.

  • Taskmaster4450

“I wouldnt have had to dive” -Juan Lagares

  • Greinke is a whiny bimflatch

  • MetsfanInParadise

Wonder why the lefty Centeno isn’t starting

  • Andrew Herbst

I like how Flores is swinging the bat.

  • everybodysbuddy

And how about Flores! Nice knock, bummer Puig is so good!

  • MetsLGM

    Ahaha true that 🙂

  • Jgreen

I just like that he is swinging the bat

  • because he’s a terrible baseball player

  • Despite the out that at-bat by Flores was the hardest hit ball by the Mets that didn’t leave the ballpark in this homestand.

  • Frank Francisco

Tough luck for Flores, Puig really is an outstanding, MVP caliber player.

  • metsfan130

If only our slugger DeGrom was up right now.

  • Andrew Herbst

Same here. He’s more aggressive early in count.

  • Metropolitan

i hate when the pitcher is up to bat in these situations…

  • MetsLGM

Flores telling wright hey look what i can do ! didnt you used to do that wright? wright says yeah but then i got paid..

  • Anthony

He has been butchering the catching position

  • Joey D.

I have a feeling since we didn’t get to Greinke this inning because of Puig, he will settle down now.

  • George_Theodore

    cause he sucks?

  • of course you do, Joey. Of course you do.

  • jaygreen55

Got Greinke up to52 pitches after 2. He’ll be lucky to make it to the 6th

  • MetsfanInParadise

Recker’s batting .193 and Centeno is 3-10 so far

  • metsfansince64

Flores looking very good with the bat. And at least we’ve driven up Greinke’s pitch count.

  • AlexHZ

And he was chocking up on 2 strikes

  • Captain America

    Ask #centenofanboy

  • everybodysbuddy

well at least he won’t last too many innings!

  • Joey D.

But this time it’s not because of us – Puig did it.

  • MetsfanInParadise

True-his fielding has been shabby, at best

  • Nimmofan25

Hey guys how good was the Pug catch? I’m at the garden for game 3 didn’t see it.

  • someone should tip Castro off to Puig’s whereabouts.

  • George_Theodore

    amazing!

  • Captain America

    50+ pitches through 2

  • have you watched the supposed defensive wizard Centeno behind the plate?

  • Charley’s Twin

    amazing. Go Rangers.

  • MetsLGM

It’ll be there on the highlight reel for the next year or so it was that good

  • Metjorge

Bring in the fences some more for Flores.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Swoboda-esque

  • laid out, parallel to the ground. Took away what would’ve easily been a run scoring double if not triple

  • Brian Regan

Amazing play, was bummed out for Flores. Dude hit that well and he needs to keep hitting to stay in bigs

  • Hotstreak

    Cuban Cigars He has plenty.

  • Charley’s Twin

    wasn’t even his ball too

  • George_Theodore

    as good as it gets

  • Nimmofan25

Wonder if Sandy will finally figure out these guys coming over from Cuba are worth the money.

  • sperry

Stick to fellating our own players, guys

  • Metropolitan

lagares could do what puig did but blindfoled

  • Charley’s Twin

    what a tool!

  • mets4lyfe

Yasiel Puig is a 6 tool player

    Hit
    Power
    Arm
    Defense
    Speed
    Swagger

  • Nimmofan25

I did see that soupy got himself another RBI.

  • MetsLGM

Its not if they are cuban or not its if they are over 35 year old and that they had a bad few years or career (see CY) and then sandy will run up to sign them 10 million for that “bounce back” year

  • MyasDaddy

    Puig is special.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Puig can bunt all night

  • Anthony

    Stay thirsty

  • Metjorge

    Sit down.

  • MetsLGM

Maybe lagaras will rob puig as a revenge like with jason werth, and in turn showing terry again

  • MetsLGM

lol look umpire did it for us 🙂

  • sac fly to right

  • George_Theodore

“I’m Juan Lagares.. I don’t always choose to make amazing plays, but when I do I blow away Yasiel Puig”

  • Swagger sometimes substituted with “crappy attitude”. Or maybe that’s just what is called swagger if someone is awesome at something else

  • Captain America

When will Lagares get an assist?

  • Chris H

Please Puig’s catch wasn’t that good if Duda was playing right he wouldn’t have to dived to make that catch lol

  • Nimmofan25

My point being at least get some damn scouts out there to watch these guys. Unlike Japan there is no posting fee. Hey Byrd worked, if it worked once why not try it again. Kinda wish now that Byrd would’ve been a bust.

  • Captain America

Likely to be arrested for doing something stupid

  • MetsLGM

Probably not many coming this year, people are smart now to know not to test him

  • Nimmofan25

Time for the Anthem later guys

  • Metjorge

Good thing the fence is where it is.

  • George_Theodore

I’m still trying to understand Bartolo Colon poster night

  • Taskmaster4450

You are correct. Duda would have picked the ball up when it was done rolling.

  • MetsLGM

Ill take it any day, he knows he has got talent so why not have fun ?

  • Joey D.

You know, all those in the Pepsi Porch not only missed seeing that catch but had bad angle watching replays on video boards.

  • Chris H

That wouldnt be a catch then lol

  • He used to inform on other potential defectors when he was still in Cuba. Apparently he’s a scumbag too

  • mets4lyfe

How exactly does he have a ” crappy attitude”?

  • George_Theodore

    #ourstadiumsucks

  • Taskmaster4450

Valdespin had swagger and it got him playing in the minors without even a ST invite.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

I see the Grandy man is still hitting the ball hard 😉

  • Captain America

    Complain less

  • Taskmaster4450

For those Nimmo lovers, he hit one out tonight in St Lucie.

  • MetsLGM

We shoud have resigned byrd from stories ive heard he helped teach lagaras a thing or two. He is definetely doing better than CY at a similar salary

  • Charley’s Twin

    Luckily nobody is sitting there!

  • George_Theodore

    post less

  • MetsLGM

Valdy sucked though even with steriods lol. Mets cant juice right haha

  • Charley’s Twin

    we can always dream, right?

  • MetsfanInParadise

They’re making good contact off Greinke

  • MetsLGM

    Woo ! ^_^ Nice to hear !

  • Joey D.

    LOL

  • Wrong video…

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Is there such a thing as a Nimmo lover. Or is that referring to the new bandwagon jumpers?

  • sperry

Drama queen is probably more accurate

  • MetsLGM

That. was. down. the. middle… and you wonder why you get in unfavorable counts david? ughhh

  • Charley’s Twin

    is that real?

  • Metropolitan

    single!!!!!!!!!

  • BarnRat

    It was pretty good though

  • Chris H

Wright with another non power hit lol

  • Kevin H

Home grown talent. He’s been with the team for years and will be for years to come. What Mets fan wouldn’t want a Bartolo Colon poster?

  • I’m a Nimmo lover.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Its a big poster,,,,Its helps w/ weight loss…..whenever youre hungry look at the poster and itll prevent you from pigging out

  • BarnRat

Better than air conditioning the stadium

  • MetsLGM

If wright cant hit Hr’s anymore i would love to see the wright that hit 356 before the break of some year. I cant remember when .-.

  • Metropolitan

u suck wright trade that bum

  • well, he’s been benched about 4 times already. He’s been arrested twice and he used to inform on OTHER people trying to flee Cuba. What would you call that?

  • George_Theodore

    good fundies, capt’n crunch

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

I thought you were an EY lover 😉

  • MetsfanInParadise

It took me to a list of videos I’ve seen recently. Here’s one of my faves:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9T1vfsHYiKY.

  • Chris H

Just say Greinke was pitching for the Mets tonight. Do you think the dodgers would have only scored 1 run ? Lol

  • MetsLGM

Ill admit i hopped on the wagon when i saw how he looked in ST thats when i knew he was going to do good things. I wanted the pitcher from miami though but we got who we got and im glad he is doing well

  • Charley’s Twin

where did you hear that informant story? I’ve never heard that. That’s nuts! Not that I don’t believe you.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

David Wright should bat leadoff….he has no power since he stopped juicing with his best friend Paul Lo Duca

  • Chris H

Don’t like the side arm throw DW

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Im not mad at that. At least youre honest

  • saturn

Adrian Gonzalez has 12 home runs on his own…how many the mets have collectively?

  • MetsLGM

I dont think wright ever juiced maybe bobby can be useful to us and sneak wright to the back of the dugout and stick him with that steriod needle

  • BCleveland3381

    32

  • MetsLGM

    A little over 30 surprisingly

  • Captain America

    Good one zippy

  • Umm sorry definitely not. LOL As long as he’s a 4th outfielder I’m fine with him., but otherwise…

  • Kevin H

    Not enough

  • MetsfanInParadise

Not enough pitching inside, says Ronnie. Gee, where have I heard that before?

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

No one thought Braun was either 😉 til he got caught

  • saturn

    i think 3-4 dodgers have 30 as a combo

  • saturn

i found worst announcer than the braves….the dodgers…oh my. need to watch in mute. tools

  • Charley’s Twin

that’s just because vin scully doesn’t travel with the team. that’s not their real announcing team.

  • Kevin H

If Abreu is using steroids he must be doing something wrong. Maybe he is injecting them in his gut. That would explain the unusual size.

  • MetsLGM

Niese is pitching well again, all for naught it seems. Dang it puig be a stud against another team. Those cubans.. can we get a superstar one for 500K? Oh they cost more than that? Oh well..

  • BCleveland3381

We should all be Nimmo lovers…..Or at least Nimmo supporters. He was a project pick, which was tough to swallow considering he was a first round pick at a time when we needed a lot of help, but he’s been progressing very nicely. Still waiting on the power to come around, but he’s still so young. I’ve been saying his ceiling could be John Olerud offensively. Unfortunately, his floor is probably Mike Baxter. His future is still wide open to me.

  • saturn

“wright left graderson standing at the altar on the bottom of the third”

  • Joey D.

Turner says “guys having fun” on Dodgers.

  • BCleveland3381

Does anything show a complete disconnect with your fanbase like Nobu night at Citi Field?

  • MetsfanInParadise
  • it’s going to make an awesome movie one day. Cartels, murder, kidnapping.

    http://www.lamag.com/features/2014/04/13/escape-from-cuba-yasiel-puigs-untold-journey-to-the-dodgers/page/1

  • bspo1

gotta say, Grandy is having some really good at bats lately.

  • Charley’s Twin

thanks. will be sure to read this later.

  • MetsLGM

Lol his knees must get tired

  • MyasDaddy

    I miss that guy.

  • Chris H

The mets are afraid the Cuban they sign will be like Kaz Matsui of Japan so they stay away lol

  • MetsLGM

    whats the umps name?

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Maybe pyramid scheme Wednesdays hosted by Bernie Madoffs accountant 😉

  • Chris H

Greinke is starting to figure it out games over

  • just another fan stating his heartfelt opinions, eh BBLB?
    Filthy, dirty, pitiable attention whore.
    Love,
    Your Shadow

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Is there really such a thing?

  • MetsLGM

What the hell kind of thing is that? sounds lame

  • MetsLGM

    lol thought the same thing

  • Joey D.

    Well, we’re back to normal.

  • Joey D.

    What’s the Ranger’s score?

  • MetsLGM

Niese is looking smooth out there too, love a pitchers duel though not every night.. if you know what i mean

  • Alwayzamazin

Hi Joey, did you hear him on the radio pre-game? he’s happy there…good for the Petite Orange!

  • Anthony

    No score real chippy

  • Taskmaster4450

Seems like the Phillies are in rough shape. They have a roster of older players and their high A ball team in Clearwater is 9-34. 9 AND 34!!!!! How is that even possible?

I guess they have no talent coming in the future.

  • MetsLGM

I smell a justin turner homer just for trolling purposes

  • Taskmaster4450

He is starting to put it together.

  • Joey D.

Thanks Anthony – midway through 2nd period?

  • Anthony

    First

  • Shaun

    He’d pie himself rounding second

  • MetsLGM

cant wait for that bartolo poster ! :).

  • BCleveland3381
  • MetsLGM

hahaha you won all the laughs from me 😀

  • Joey D.

Late start tonight. Probably due to national TV. Thanx again.

  • Alwayzamazin

  • Chris H

    Game started at 8

  • Anthony

    Eight

  • MetsLGM

I hope he saved one for terry though

  • Metropolitan

oh wait,i thought that was suppose to be murphy……….

  • Waz0787

    Soup has more than coropal

  • MetsLGM

Ok so i was wrong about justin turner, maybe grienke hits a homer to show wright how to hit one.

  • MyasDaddy

    It’s still Murph’s play.

  • Joey D.

    LOL, Greinke wanted a challenge.

  • 94SupraTT

    You really are a dumbass.

  • MyasDaddy

Come on bro. You’re 17. Go out and chase some tail. Leave the trolling and bitching to us all old timers.

  • Anthony

It’s 1 to 1 why does it feel like we are losing

  • Still get sad when I recall the day Hodges passed away. Heard it from Roger Grimsby who teared up.

  • Charley’s Twin

when I was 17 the mets were even worse then they are now, somehow.

  • Brian Regan

Looking forward to Flores at bat. I am sure grenkie will try to pitch him inside this ab

  • MetsLGM

Ah, ive heard that one before. lol i like staying inside though its fun

  • BarnRat

    BB 101 — lol

  • Taskmaster4450

I missed it…Turner walked…then what happened…did the Mets turn two?

  • George_Theodore

    yeah, i was 9 or 10 & i cried

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Same reason it felt like we were out of it opening day

  • BCleveland3381

Because they have the better pitcher on the mound with the better lineup, better manager, better GM, they spend more than double our payroll on talent, and they even have our pie guy now. 🙁

  • Anthony

    Arguably our best manager ever

  • MyasDaddy

When I was 17, 15 years ago we all know what happened. The best trade in Mets history

  • Charley’s Twin

damn man you said it lol

  • Charley’s Twin

my 17 year was 2003! Now that one was hideous.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

When your married you will be staying in alot go out now!

  • donobrien

    Funny!

  • MyasDaddy

    Ugh

  • Charley’s Twin

    luckily, i went out!

  • MetsLGM

xD them women steal our souls and feed it to the dog

  • Metfan9876

Good nights for Herrera, Nimmo and Smith so far.

  • MyasDaddy

Staying inside and being “inside” are two separate things.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Haha. Me, too. Cracks me up.

  • NewYorkMammoths

No — Roger Grimsby was a newscaster.

  • BCleveland3381

  • Anthony

    He could type to

  • MetsLGM

Ive seen my parents married life, it looks unappealing dont think its much worth it. just ask david

  • MLBGM Fire TC

    Those were the days

  • Alwayzamazin

    is david your brother?

  • I am switching between the Mets and the Rangers and my 2 year old is running around the apartment screaming “HOCKEY HOCKEY BASEBALL” over and over. Lil sports nut 🙂

  • MetsLGM

thats exactly wright ! lol i have no brother i got a sister though

  • Metropolitan

those Dodgers throwback road grey alternate with team name, are dope I wish the Mets would do that too, might force me to put some money in the Wilpons pocket

  • MyasDaddy

Man you ain’t kidding. When HS was your biggest worry. I would trade with him in a heartbeat

  • Charley’s Twin

Teach your kid, “I hate Brandon Prust”

  • Joey D.

    Hi Joe,

I remember hearing the news from my father when he came home that Sunday. I was in total shock. Put on the news and it was the lead story of course. Sal Marciano was doing the story and I do not recall if he was on Eyewitness News at the time (later on was with WNBC) but do remember him closing with a tearful (paraphrasing) “say a prayer for Gil Hodges, say a prayer for all of us”.

  • BarnRat

My wife is saying the same thing but with adjectives

  • MetsLGM

Hes gonna wreck it ! 🙂

  • Kevin H

Why did I expect Puig to magically appear from the right side of the screen and snag that?

  • Ted Danson

    WOW !

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Your fathers a dumbass for not pulling out and spilling you on the white castle bathroom floor when he was w/your prostitute mother

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Dont forget we, also pay tribute to there team on our home stadium. Wtf

  • MetsfanInParadise

Where was Puig that time? Bum

  • MetsLGM

uhmm idk, you expect the worse as a mets fan?

  • Taskmaster4450

Kemp doesnt really move that well out their in CF.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    RYAN BRAUN!!!!!

FYI DONT RESPOND IF YOU THINK I AM LOOKING FOR ATTENTION…HOW HARD IS THAT???

  • Brian Regan

That shocked all of us!!!! Need at least 1 more

  • saturn

Impressive. Same pitch, Same OF location. Same spot.

  • heh. We’re a casual hockey house. He already hates Gattis and LeShawn McCoy though 🙂

  • Jgreen

    Niese for our shortstop!

  • Alwayzamazin

ohhh got it! hey don’t blame david’s wife for his decline…this is all on him, it’s been going on for longer than one season (ducking)

  • MetsLGM

Niese saying if you want it done right you got to do it yourself !

  • Surprised they haven’t moved him to a corner yet.

  • saturn

I saw it coming from his bat and im like…uhh…whats this??

  • Chris H

Then Find a girl that loves the Mets like you and take her to the games lol I wish my wife loved sports

  • MetsfanInParadise

Niese went to deGrom for pointers

  • MyasDaddy

Did you read up last night?

  • Brian Regan

Watching other outfielders really makes me appreciate lageres

  • Andrew Herbst

Niese knows what he’s doing at the plate.

  • MetsLGM

hard to find a mets fan in Louisiana. It’ll most likely be a relation with the saints. people love the saints down here lol. It makes taking the pain of being mets fan easier. with football i can see some a winning team on the field lol

  • Anthony

    He should be playing left

  • 94SupraTT

LOL…how much of a loser are you? All you do is post. Just kill yourself alreqdy, nobody cares about you.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

A girl who likes the mets would be miserable all the time, not good

  • Alwayzamazin

they all should…just don’t tell Hudgens

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Our pitchers all of a sudden hit better than our hitters

  • Charley’s Twin

    GOAL!

  • On ABC they did a moment of silence and Grimsby said he was the best of us. Remember when the local news would do moments of silence on some occasions?

  • Charley’s Twin

    THAAAAAAA RANGAHS

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks! Was able to switch to catch the replay

  • MetsLGM

If you dont get a walk bench for you, get a walk still bench for you lagaras :p

  • Joey D.

    Charley,

    We ahead of the Canadians?

  • BarnRat

You know Greinke is thinking this isn’t a problem. That’s what the LA line-up will do for you

  • Charley’s Twin

1-0 NY. 3:45 to go in the first.

  • Waz0787

This is impossible mets leading against Grenkie.

  • He might be concerned about his streak though.

  • Alwayzamazin

Irish Hammer Time!!! lets go Daniel!

  • Chris H

How are you a met fan in Louisiana? Were you from NY?

  • MetsLGM

Stat: niese with more doubles this month than wright. Jk lolololo :p

  • Haaaaaa. Really Turner??

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

  • Kevin H

Turner doing his old buddies a solid.

  • saturn

Justin’s pie to the mets. Helping them win

  • Andrew Herbst

    Bad error by 3.14.

  • Metropolitan

turner thought he was still playing for the mets for a moment

  • Great time for a long overdue ding dong dirigidoo, Captain

  • MetsLGM

    Doh ! :p

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Talking about hitters/ pitchers anyone see tex 1b last week , moreland pitching?? The guy was damn good

  • George_Theodore

    No pie for you!

  • Joey D.

    Thanx Charley

  • NewYorkMammoths
  • MetsfanInParadise

    is he one of those?

  • BarnRat

Maybe that’s “the Plan”. Get more of our players on other teams.

  • MetsLGM

mets used to be the zephrs major league affilate and thus i choose the mets, worst decision ever lol and at the same time the best decision ever haha

  • MyasDaddy

Fyi- no one likes red heads Turner.

  • Waz0787

    Booooooooooooo at wright.

  • This is why you play the games! LGM

  • Jpoo

Not that any one will care, but I just traded away D-Wright from my fantasy team, i feel so much better.

  • Chris H

The way Niese is going 3-1 don’t look to bad tonight

  • Metropolitan

useless wright, this line up just can’t come up with the BIG inning, had Greinke on the ropes

  • Andrew Herbst

    I think he is.

  • metsfansince64

    Bonus: Greinke at 101 pitches.

  • MLBGM Fire TC

    What u get for him?

  • Joey D.

    Hi Joe,

Don’t get me started – you know that will make me bring up 2011 all over again! LOL

  • Jpoo

Machado, Starlin Castro, and Alfredo Simon

  • NewYorkMammoths

But why do we have to play the second half of the games?

  • Kevin H

I never draft Mets. Kiss of death for both the player and my team.

  • Joey D.

    HI Mammoths,

    Hey, I like that!

  • Jpoo

Yeah I must be a masochist, I do it to myself every year.

  • Ahhh the riddle of the Sphinx… 🙂

  • Metropolitan

the dodgers once strugglin pen is no more since they came to Queens of course,

  • MLBGM Fire TC

Interesting , mschado started off slow too, gl

  • 40oz to Freedom

Wow good trade for you. Machado alone will probably outproduce wright then to throw in castro is crazy

  • MetsLGM

Omg wright, you know idk if i would be heartbroken to see him traded as long as its for something really good. Flores has the look of future 3B on him

  • Chris H

    Oh ok just your luck

  • Jpoo

Figured the risk was worth it, I have Matt Carpenter to play 3B and Dozier to slide into 2B… I just wanted Wright gone. Thanks!

  • Jpoo

thanks, I did have to throw in Joe Nathan, but I discount Closers heavily.

  • ALL for Wright?? If so, you just robbed the other player.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Really? lol that would be a shame

  • Jpoo

Well it was Wright & Joe Nathan

  • Waz0787

He sucks…… His wife took all his powers lol

  • Kevin H

You jinxed us man. Is this Gary Cohen?

  • Charley’s Twin

Who just heard Keith scoff as Niese walked Figgins? I have to agree with Mex.

  • Metropolitan

stop tryin to jinx the rangers Gary…

  • Andrew Herbst

We’re pitching Figgins like he’s Puig.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    turn two

  • Yup. You still win by a lot.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Yup. Mets pitchers pull this crap constantly after getting a lead. Can’t walk the leadoff batter EVER especially after you get a lead.

  • Jpoo

    I concur.

  • Joey D.

Maybe the mud effected Greinek for it’s now possibly doing same to Niese.

  • Wow.

  • good job Murph you fecking dope

  • Anthony

    Wtf

  • Charley’s Twin

    And now this!

  • Ryan Bauman

    Leave it to murph

  • Charley’s Twin

    Oh god it’s always something

  • Waz0787

    Smh at Murphy

  • Metropolitan

again Murphy is a losing type ball player get rid of him

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Wow. This team really loves to SUCK.

  • Shaun

Phew! Mets are back! Thought maybe they figured out how to play this game or something.

  • Charley’s Twin

    WHY MAMMOTHS? WHY?!!!!

  • MetsLGM

Run terry ! dont get a heart attack on the way there :p

  • Joey D.

I think murph was trying to take it out of the glove

  • bspo1

    big inning time.

  • Waz0787

    That’s right.

  • MikeyT

Murph is a lock for one boneheaded screwup a game

  • Andrew Herbst

It’s so typical. Get a lead and then Murph makes an error.

  • And now Terrible Terry makes the bad play worse.

  • Charley’s Twin

“It spent more time in his armpit than in the glove”

  • Joey D.

    So they are challenging.

  • why the hell is he challenging this?

  • Charley’s Twin

Just making us wait for the inevitable. What a lunatic

  • HarveyKsYou

    Typical mets meltdown!

  • Ryan Bauman

The game will be tied momentarily

  • bspo1

    what an idiot.

  • Jpoo

He never even looked into the dug out for confirmation!

  • Anthony

    Nightly we blow routine plays

  • Waz0787

TC is going to blame Flores for not covering 2nd

  • Jpoo

Nope, Geren is just a retard

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

The dugout gave him the thumbs up. Can’t blame TC on that one.

  • Jgreen

    Fire the camera guy

  • Geren gave the thumbs up. Perfect. SMH.

  • So that was a challenge??? WTF? Geren???

  • apparently the dugout gave confirmation anyway

  • 40oz to Freedom

What happened? Gameday not telling me much.

  • Metropolitan

mets can’t do anything right not even challenging plays now

  • Charley’s Twin

He gave the thumbs up! This organization sucks so bad! Top to bottom!

  • Jpoo

Yeah I have a comment awaiting moderation for some reason. What a moron.

  • “Brain trust” lives on old pal.

  • Murph just botched the catch to start a probable double play so no out, runners on 1st and 2nd

  • MyasDaddy

FIVE idiots and they still can’t get it right.

  • Chris H

What’s the names of who Bob Geren is talking to is the guy an idiot or what

  • Taskmaster4450

    Thanks Murphy.

  • Joey D.

Yes, the angle was deceiving. Clearly rolled up his arm. From middle of the diamond was deceptive.

  • Andrew Herbst

    Way to waste a challenge.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    LOL!

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Tag him!

  • You can’t make this stuff up. Wow.

  • Chris H

    OMG

  • Charley’s Twin

    This is crazy

  • Shaun

    LOL this is amazing

  • Ted Danson

    This game is hilarious.

  • MikeyT

Get murph off the damn field. What a clown

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Holy christ is this team a hot mess.

  • 40oz to Freedom

    ok thanks

  • that was horrific. Pull Murph immediately

  • Metropolitan

    Benny Hill music please

  • Jpoo
  • mr mojo risin

what the F is going on

  • MetsfanInParadise

What’s the name of the guy on second. Who’s on first.

  • bspo1

    Murphy is a joke tonight.

  • Charley’s Twin

“I don’t believe what I just saw in a major league game” –Mex

  • and now I have no idea what happened

  • MetsLGM

uhm.. lol the mets showing me new ways to play bad fundemental baseball everyday

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

I have free range to criticize ANY PLAYER on this team that is SUCKING but one guy….DAVID WRIGHT.

You cant say anything about him when he is blowing except

    1. David must be injured, hes too good for this
    2. David is trying too hard to carry this team
    3. Davids struggling because he has no protection
(FYI Grandy hits behind DW and Grandys slashline for May is:.299/.365/.552/.917 w/5HR, 13RBI)

    Yep no protection.

Wright is stinking admit it like we do every other player on this team.

  • Wow, just wow, just wow, just wow….

  • Ryan Bauman

    What just happened

  • BCleveland3381

Murphy is still a mess on defense. He’s not at bad fielding grounders, but just the same bonehead plays he makes on the bases.

We’ll see how worth the headaches he is now that is bat is cooling off a bit. He’s 7-30 in his last 7 games with ZERO extra base hits. When Murphy is ripping it at the plate, he’s worth every miscue. But he’s not when he’s cold, and it looks like he might be cooling off.

  • Kevin H

That was insane. Only the Mets.

  • MikeyT

This is the majors? What the hell are these teams teaching in the minors that these players play baseball full time and are this freaking clueless

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    This team’s fundies are terrible.

  • jombee227

    This friggin’ team.

  • Metropolitan

murphy got bailed out there he is still a knucklehead ,please package that loser in a trade …

  • Anthony

    Sheer brilliance by murph haha

  • goorru

    Murphy is a genius lol

  • yeah. It’s not like the guy has a history of being great or anything.

  • Andrew Herbst

Why can’t we ever act like a ML team out there?

  • whew

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

The only good thing that came out of that is that it was a double play…and they got out of the inning! Hahahahaha!

  • We should trade him for someone who’s third in the league in hits. Oh, wait.

  • MyasDaddy

Come on bro lets be real here. The Mets got bailed out because of terrible base running.

  • Murphy needs to be traded for Joc Pederson tonight. Give them a pitcher too if they want. Heck give them a good pitching prospect if they’ll take CY $7.25MM also.

  • metsfansince64

    That says it all.

  • bspo1

he is second in hits in the month of may…not a lot of power but still.

  • MetsLGM

Im warming up to the idea of trading wright for what we can get and flores at 3B to jump start our future

  • MyasDaddy

    Damn… sarcasm, my bad.

  • George_Theodore

Puig took baserunning tips from Murphy

  • Maxxy

Murphy is the absolute WORST second baseman I have ever seen, this guy sucks. Two absurdly bad plays in one inning!!!

  • mr mojo risin

nice job Niese, somebody has to act like a pro out there

  • Kevin H

At least he knew enough to tell Flores to tag Puig.

  • bspo1

    he has a no trade.

  • Waz0787

    Murphy deserves a raise

  • MyasDaddy

Rules may be different in Cuba.

  • mets4lyfe

Murphy keeps proving why he’ll never be an average defensive 2B

  • MetsLGM

you think he would object to going to a winning team? i wouldnt

  • Charley’s Twin

I’m at a loss to describe it actually.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo
  • Joey D.

I’ve always said the infield fly rule is flawed. It should be that if fielder does not make catch, then batter is safe and runners automatically advance one base. This way not free out and base runners are protected.

  • The ship sailed long ago…while some of us were screaming for it.

  • metsfansince64

What about the Dodgers players not knowing the infield fly rule?

  • NewYorkMammoths
  • Tommy

Murphy has made 3 horrific plays out at 2B in the last 2 days! Not sure what is up with him? That being said, you people are amazing! As soon as someone screws up, they need to be traded, cut, benched ,etc! Murphy has arguably been our best player this year thus far! You want him benched or traded? LOL

  • Makes too much sense.

  • Charley’s Twin

it was astonishingly bad baseball for everybody.

  • George_Theodore

would Murphy have realized that if he was running the bases?

  • Hotstreak

Is this game fixed at Vegas?

  • Metfan9876

Well maybe Dilson Herrera will turn into a stud and they could move Murphy to upgrade another position

  • MetsLGM

So at least puig returned the favor for balancing the runs he saved through his runs taken away from such a blunder

  • Waz0787

Anyone thinking about going to Sundays game for colon poster?

  • MyasDaddy

Dude. Murph is overrated. The blunders and bad fundamentals cost this team as much as he “helps” this team.

  • Charley’s Twin

I’m going to get there 3 hours early to be sure I get mine.

  • the same people who scream at clouds and dandelions too

  • mr mojo risin

C’mon guys we’re struggling to turn Double Plays. Nice to see we’re being creative, thinking outside the box

  • goorru

Let’s see who can have the best Murphy hyperbole.

  • MetsLGM

Leads the league in garbage time hits

  • Jpoo

Who in gods name would want that monstrosity on their wall? THAT is the stuff of nightmares.

  • MetsLGM

swim towards it dang it !

  • If it’s for Joc Pederson, you’d get over Murphy quick.

  • TheMetsMachine

Anyone still wondering about why the Dodgers are a 3rd place team, just look at their lack of fundamentals.

  • metsfansince64

    And Puig.

  • Hotstreak

Murphy is my favorite player but will be at .280 in two weeks. He is falling apart on defense too.

  • that ball clearly bounced

  • MetsLGM

What if it was a shirtless bartolo poster? There could be worse lol

  • Anthony

    This is real life comedy

  • MikeyT

Keith wants to get this show on the road. Haha

  • mets4lyfe

I remember when people would question Jeff Kent’s defense at 2B.

  • MikeyT

Did he even foul tip that?

  • MetsLGM

Grandy gonna drop that ump on his butt lol :p

  • Jpoo

    He wants to beat traffic!

  • That second sentence was the Daniel Murphy of sentences

  • Anthony

That’s a reason why we are in last

  • Jpoo

    You, you monster…

  • TheMetsMachine

    That, plus less talent lol

  • Metropolitan

Murphy is just a bonehead ….

  • Jgreen

I think I understand why people are less attracted to baseball these day

  • MyasDaddy

Ball was dropped. No tip. He’s out.

  • MetsLGM

I wonder what duda would be like when he is mad.. hmm :p

  • MikeyT

Not much eastbound traffic on the LIE at 11pm

  • George_Theodore

    we call them “fundies”

  • Kevin H

If he did, he barely touched it.

  • Joey D.

Come on Curtis, you should know by now about you’re striking out all the time so why try to delay the invevitible even if you did tip it. And that looking at the ball for dirt? Now with Puig catch we got games four and and five. Now we need an Agee catch and an Al Weiss ninth inning hit.

  • MyasDaddy

    My point came across.

  • donobrien

    10 yards for piling on.

  • mets4lyfe

    Duda…..

  • and the Mets were in the situation because of terrible ball catching. Baseball gods giveth and taketh away.

  • Anthony

    Keith fired up

  • Hotstreak

    Like Ike.

  • MetsLGM

    Such a power hitter !

  • Charley’s Twin

I’m wondering what kind of stat the eggheads can come up with that accounts for the type of insane mental errors from both teams that just unfolded in front of us.

  • very much so since you repeated it twice 😉

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

Remember when I tried to tell y’all before the season on the importance of middle infield defense? PRIME EXAMPLE!

  • Mcgrupp81

Got distracted. What was Keith yammering about at the end of the inning?

  • MikeyT

Ball doesn’t look to change direction. Doesn’t even look like the spin changes

  • MyasDaddy

    LOL 🙂

  • Metfan9876

Probably has something to do with the increasing number of people with small attention spans from all kinds of things lol

  • Let me know when you find out. I got nothing.

  • Kevin H

You won’t like him when he’s angry!!!

  • MyasDaddy

He makes me mad! Gets me all flustered.

  • Anthony

    Is he wearing a wig

  • MetsLGM

I was thinking he turns into the hulk and does his patented DUDA SLAM ME CRUSH YOU

  • infuriating but lovable

  • Shrek

  • Charley’s Twin

the lion from wizard of oz

  • MetsLGM

Looks like the dodger hitting caught a case of the mets.. :p

  • MyasDaddy

Not lovable to me. Makes me sick to watch bad fundamentals. Especially in MLB.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

People really want Matt Kemp? Lazy and injury riddled player if you ask me.

  • Anthony

    Dodgers must be hung over

  • Or the people that realized that there was a dearth at MLB 3B, Wright was elite at the position, and teams with elite position player prospects would’ve all been in on Wright. Oh and money freed up from not locking up Wright could be used to bring in more talent. You know…an actual rebuild done well.

  • not sure why they were even talking about that foul tip on Grandy. It wasn’t a foul tip. The ball clearly hit the ground before the catcher even got the glove on it – not to mention the fact that he dropped it afterwards anyway

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Flores…no range. Can’t get to anything.

  • SinHalo27

    Flores is covering it…

  • Charley’s Twin

definitely not interested after getting to watch him play. he’s not that great, past accomplishments or not.

  • bspo1

flo looks alright at SS to me.

  • Metropolitan

the worst I have ever seen since Collins has been here

  • Haha. No way man. Can’t catch a ship that took off a year or two ago.

  • MetsLGM

I never want to see tejada out there again not even a screen shot from the dugout, if flores can do the basic plays he is good to go !

  • jombee227

Pretty much that the Mets sucked in Washington and are sucking in this series and that they have to get their act together.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

He most likely would…Winning doesnt seem to be a big deal with Wright he just enjoys NYC life

  • goorru

Who can hit, we have plenty of boneheads that can’t hit.

  • George_Theodore

can be the ss on a WS team

  • Anthony

    He is no center-fielder

  • I like watching Mets get hits. He’s one of the only one who seems capable of getting them. He’s also a gamer and a half. Just a dumbass

  • Kevin H

Flores looks better than I expected in the field so far. Hopefully he keeps it up.

  • George_Theodore

    looks fine

  • There used to be this magazine called Baseball Digest, and each month they had a feature where they would detail some bizarre play like we just saw, and the reader had to figure out which baserunners end up where, how many outs, etc,

I think it was called “So you think you know baseball.”

  • MetsLGM

We want change from being force fed this lineup day in and out. Maybe he is one of those change of scenerary players, he has lots of tools to help us and maybe at a small cost since the dodgers are loaded

  • Metropolitan

He is a losing ballplayer period low IQ prone to mental mistakes

  • FU Turner

  • Frank Francisco

There hasn’t been a single play since Flores has taken over where I thought to myself “Tejada could’ve got that”.

  • George_Theodore

    get the BP up terry!

  • Joey D.

    Give him the pie

  • You can not make this stuff up. Wow.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Justin F’in Turner. Are you kidding me???

  • MyasDaddy

I think he is a product of our management. From Willie, to Manuel, to TC. There is no accountability.

  • Ryan Bauman

    Saw that coming

  • Anthony

    Unreal

  • Joey D.

    Look at that smile!

  • mr mojo risin

HR to Turner ? Come on, I just ate

  • Jpoo

This game has circus written all over it.

  • Metropolitan

Turner was gonna get us sooner or later…come on guys we all knew it

  • IfYouSheaSo

the clown giveth, the clown taketh away

  • MetsLGM

LOL i knew he would troll us with a HR ! i just called it a little early ;D

  • NewYorkMammoths

Good night, everyone. See ya tomorrow.

  • El_Verdadero_Presidente

Last lots of tools, change-of-scenery guy we rolled ’em on was CY.

  • Destry

Of course Turner hits a game tying 2-run shot

  • BarnRat

    How f’ing annoying was that!?

  • Kevin H

    Turner giveth, Turner taketh away.

  • Andrew Herbst

TC: That’s the Justin Turner I know. He’s a true professional.

  • Turner looked lazy rounding the bases.

  • Jgreen

So Mets sucks against Cowgill and Turner.. brilliant

  • Waz0787

Only the mets. That’s for sandy

  • Joey D.

It’s that Sadaharo Oh batting stance ala Mel Ott

  • metsjetsfan

i met turner last year. nice guy.

  • Destry

That he did. We should keep Tejada instead

  • Anthony

I’m gonna go have a good cry

  • MetsLGM

Turner with a pie to Sandy’s face lol

  • bspo1

    the mets really battled guys.

  • George_Theodore

    jesus christ

  • saturn

Bring the fences in!! No one on the mets can hit it out, but some scrub with no power can!!

  • Novito

Someone please hit justin turner with a “john buck” pie to the face!!!

  • saturn

    I did too.

  • Metropolitan

did I see collins give a fist pump when Turner hit that home run…

  • HarveyKsYou

Yet we released him in favor of some career minor leaguer.

  • bspo1

hmm we could really use Turner right about now. Too bad he wasn’t to Sandy’s liking.

  • keith

Mets pitchers should be ashamed of themselves. Cowgill and Turner for MVP. Saw it coming last nite. Scrubs getting the last word.

  • jaypayton

    Choke on it sandy #jturner

  • Hotstreak

I felt Dodgers would tie but Mets win it. I did not want to be negative so I did not post it. Now I will. Lagares I felt and stll do will get the game winner not necessarily a walkoff.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Anyone for trivia?

  • jjong

    I just came here…what happened?

  • mr mojo risin

so wait, Wright only has 1 more HR than Turner ?

  • Destry

He has just as much range as Tejada. Problem is, Tejada doesn’t have any range

  • Andrew Herbst

    Sure.

  • MyasDaddy

Been thinking about for a while. Im blank.

  • Met lifer

This team is so snakebit. Just terrible karma. What can go wrong, does. Depressing.

  • jaypayton

    J turner rocking shitt

  • Andrew Herbst

Turner hit a 2 run homer.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

How dare you call out the Captain???

  • MetsLGM

    Turner with his pies 🙂

  • Frank Francisco

    Premature Ejaculation is no joke.

  • tacknaf

yo what was up with those fans who caught the ball celebrating… they just tied the game dumbasses. im not saying throw the ball back but stop cheering

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Pedro Guerrero or Steve Garvey

  • MetsfanInParadise

I had a subscription for years

  • jjong

    Ok, thank you

  • MetsLGM

    :O treason !

  • Joey D.

You’re right, you did call it a while back!

  • jaypayton

    More dodger fans there anyway

  • Destry

Neither can Tejada. Flores isn’t the long term answer at SS, but Tejada is definitely not

  • bspo1

Imagine what can happen when you have good players on your team?

  • Andrew Herbst

    You’re welcome.

  • TheMetsMachine

The Mets need the Hulkster to come save them! Hulkamaniaaaaa, where are you!!

  • tacknaf

    they all had mets jerseys

  • MyasDaddy

Garvey was one of my guesses for sure. Would not have said Guerrero.

  • SinHalo27

Turner was dreaming about that moment all off-season.

  • TheMetsMachine

    base hit

  • BarnRat

You’re doing better than we are

  • jjong

I meant to say that I just came to the site but thanks for the joke

  • MetsfanInParadise

I looked it up-do you want the answer?

  • Wow a laser by Flores!

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Phew…almost robbed again.

  • MetsLGM

It just had to happen, its an aura of bad karma that surronds the mets

  • MyasDaddy

No. Let me think about it.

  • jaypayton

    LA taking out the trash

  • Chris H

He pulled an EY move there but stopped the ball

  • AJF

Never like Turner and his dumb pie throws

  • Andrew Herbst

    I missed the question.

  • MetsfanInParadise

I was thinking Garvey or Cey

  • metsjetsfan

    Let’s go Canadians!

  • Destry

Not for 25mil per season. No way. His contract is a sure fire way to sink a franchise that can’t afford a $230 million payroll

  • NO BUNT!!!!!

  • MetsLGM

Flores aint gonna take it ! no he aint gonna take it ! he aint gonna take it anymoreeee 😀

  • TheMetsMachine

    pass ball

  • Chris H

    Wow this guy sucks lol

  • Joey D.

Now Van Slyke did what EYJ did not last week – he decided to let ball drop in front of him and stop ball from going past him.

  • saturn

didnt see, did turner get a pie??

  • and a BA .080 lower, OBP .080 lower, 40 fewer hits…

  • Novito

Lmao wow LA broadcast just kept it all the way real. Said “Turner was basically let go from the Mets. Not because of lack of talent but to save money and be cheap…” Lmao sheesh. They even mentioned the whole Lagares scenario. Lets hope all broadcasters bring this to light to alllllll mlb fans, media, & personel.

  • Brian Regan

    Pinch run ey!!!!!!

  • TheMetsMachine

Recker will hit a 2 run home run, I’m calling it now!

  • Metropolitan

    no bunt now

  • HarveyKsYou

    Pot head shmuck pitching.

  • Charley’s Twin

    booooooooooooooooooo!

  • George_Theodore

    bunting with Recker..genius!

  • Met lifer

He has smoked 2 tonight. Means Terry sits him tomorrow.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    All-time LA Dodger HR leader

  • jaypayton

Flores after his idiotic play last night which cost a game

  • no way

  • donobrien

Just please shut your damn pie hole. You never, never shut up.

  • Novito

No. TC views him as a starter only. Remembah?!

  • Charley’s Twin

LOL did they really? My heroes!

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Chris Perez – full weed mode out there. Definitely looks like a blazer.

  • Joey D.

Dodgers now playing llike Ebbets field team of the 30’s – the daffy dodgers.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    that’s what she said

  • MyasDaddy

Maybe it’s someone more recent like a Mondesi or a Karros? Maybe Piazza?

  • Brian Regan

Not sure why he is saving ey? We need this run. Bunt!!!

  • Destry

And just happens to be the best player on our team

  • MetsfanInParadise

    One of those 3

  • goorru

    I was just kidding, he’s a knucklehead

  • jjong

Is both having an off day…I guess the Mets is freely giving away their karma to the Dodgers!

  • Andrew Herbst

Thanks. I’m thinking either Garvey or Guerrero.

  • SinHalo27

Don’t look now but Flores is hitting .320

  • keith

    The dubeman!

  • Joey D.

    Looks almost like Brian Wilson

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Forgot about Karros…

  • The one time I want to see Eric Young and he’s sitting in the dugout instead of second base.

  • Brian Regan

Would be even better if not for puig. He has hit the ball great. Huge upside

  • Charley’s Twin

Brian Wilson looks like Bluto from Popeye

  • Novito

Yes lmao, but they’re horrible casters.

  • This game could go 15. We need Wilmer’s bat.

  • jaypayton

Dodgers are playing down to the competition. This is what happens being on the field with the mets for 3 days

  • MyasDaddy

Well. Piazza had 220 HR’s as a Met. He hit over 400 for his career? So that means at least 180 came from the Dodgers, I don’t think that’s enough.

  • George_Theodore

hwy the F would you have Recker bunt???

  • But that’s the winning run.

  • konyc

“The Dodgers have three men on base.”

    “Oh, yeah–which base?”

  • metsjetsfan

    UGLY swing

  • Andrew Herbst

    Awful at bat by Recker.

  • tacknaf

    Recker WTF come on dude

  • Anthony

    Maddening swing the fing bat

  • MyasDaddy

Karros was there more than 10 years. He had some good seasons early on..

  • George_Theodore

he should not have been bunting

  • mets4lyfe

Why the **** would you bunt with a man on second and no outs? Jesus christ, collins is a moron.

  • saturn

recker swinging for the 18th hole?

  • George_Theodore

    Terryball

  • Charley’s Twin

with this bullpen? I think not!

  • IF the bullpen holds, or if we even get the run in.

  • Kevin H

That was either the greatest slider of all time or…Recker stinks.

  • Andrew Herbst

Agreed. You have to let him hit there.

  • jaypayton

    Recker is scrub

  • MyasDaddy

If its one of those 3, than I am going Karros.

  • MetsLGM

EY would have been nice in that sistuation for once as a sub on the bases to steal it or maybe a hit and run

  • Who needs to preserve outs? Not us. SMH

  • George_Theodore

if it was the 9th inning

  • bottom of the order. Not worth it

  • Brian Regan

Tejada should have been up to bunt and ey should have been running. Collins sucks

  • goorru

    a?

  • Metropolitan

that yawn had to be keith

  • mr mojo risin

    yeah, but still …

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

I see Turner just threw a pie in Sandys face with a homerun.

WAIT someone hit ANOTHER HOMERUN in CITI FIELD!!!!

    IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

  • MetsfanInParadise

Our backup catcher has lost his e-Recker-tion

  • muskytoes

    Terryball, lol. That’s Metsed up!

  • Charley’s Twin

didn’t you hear? the air’s too heavy

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

That’s a professional flyout right there.

  • hey now wild pitch whaddya say now wild pitch

  • AJF

Because Collins is clueless The time Collins would outsmart another manager would be the first time

  • Chris H

    Let’s go Juan

  • Kevin H

    LOL

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Ahhhhhh Makes sense (NOT) lol

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Correct-220 also

  • jaypayton

Tc on his last legs. The end is near

  • Duda and Granderson both hit one last night

  • Joey D.

    And we’re mostly all Whimpy.

Especially Sandy – I’d gladly pay you Tuesday for a hitter today. 🙂

  • Collins is such an idiot, He’s out-managed no matter who’s in the other dugout.

  • mr mojo risin

this handful of fans really gets excited by contact

  • MetsLGM

Juan is gonna have to do this himself should be no biggie for him 🙂

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Art Howe would battle him to the death. Manuel would out gangster him no doubt.

  • MyasDaddy

Ding Ding Ding! Wow. Eric Karros.

  • no, it does. Cold air is denser. More air resistance. Simple science.

  • because Recker is a terrible hitter

  • Novito

Abreu is basically on a retirement bonus yr right now. What? Get paid to do nada at age 99?! Thanks Fred, Jeff & Sandy.

  • Joey D.

Juan, your job is on the line right now

  • JL!!!!

  • Metropolitan

    juan!!!

  • Chris H

    Nice clutch Juan

  • Jpoo

    SOME KIND OF JUANDERFUL

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Lagares…again..and again. And again!

  • Charley’s Twin

    HA!
Sandy might be Whimpy, but I’d say we’re all Olive Oil. Screaming for help and hoping a new owner will eat his spinach and save us 😉

  • MyasDaddy

    Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

  • DON JUAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mets4lyfe

    Flores and Lagares coming thru

  • jjong

    Nice hit by Juan!

  • George_Theodore

    J-Lag defeats TC strategy!

  • Flores and Lagares producing. Shocked….should say no Mets fan ever. Now Terry on the other hand??

  • Frank Francisco

    #benched

  • MetsfanInParadise

And I’ve never thought of Mattingly a particularly deep thinker

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Shadow.

  • metsjetsfan

    Juan drives juan in!

  • mr mojo risin

    slide on THAT, Perez

  • tacknaf

BULLS*** EYJ would have gotten a double

  • #CRIPES

  • MetsLGM

Well look at that the combo of flores and juan are helping us win games for the second night in a row 🙂

  • regardless of this game’s outcome… this is our lineup

  • Wolfmicky21

    Flores + lagares = future

  • igotyourbackman

lagares and Flores saving TC’s job

  • donobrien

I wonder if the Murphy lynch mob ever played the game.

  • metsfansince64

    Love Lagares in the clutch.

  • Andrew Herbst

Juan!! I love how he shortened up.

  • And you still have Wilmer in the game haha.

  • Joey D.

AND HE WENT FOR A PITCH OFF THE CORNER THAT WAS NOT A STRIKE. HE’S IN THE DOG HOUSE FOR NOT TAKING IT.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Terry is pissed.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

How many freakin’ web gems do the Mets have against them this season. Jeez.

  • George_Theodore

    Lagares gets Niese the W

  • Chris H

Terry really wishes either Young did what Juan did though

  • mets4lyfe

Bunting with a runner on 2nd with no outs is a terrible play no matter who’s batting.

  • jason bay

    Binghamton

  • Wolfmicky21

But he was 0-2 at the time, just like he’s taught

  • Met lifer

    Way to go Juan!

  • MetsLGM

Is murphy the irish hammer anymore? that man has been having too much bad luck to qualify for being irish

  • HarveyKsYou

This is seriously overblown and getting annoying.

  • figured a little education would upset you

  • prosoundz

    Lagares does it all!!

  • mr mojo risin

I wasn’t expecting Figgins to get up there

  • George_Theodore

more bad managing from TC.. put the old man out to pasture

  • Sometimes things work out despite Collins’ absurdity. 🙂

  • AJF

Terry and Sandy are going to have to sit down with Juan and go over the hitting philosophy again

  • keith

At least Turner didn’t have to bust it down the line. Lazy A@@!

  • Now that I think about it…Terrible Terry feels great. You know his letting the kid ssit was what set them both right…right?? SMH.

  • metsjetsfan

About as many as Juan has alone!

  • Kevin H

Lagares swung at a bad pitch to get that hit. He’s expanding the strike zone. Needs a few days off to clear his head.

  • MyasDaddy

@metsfaninparadise:disqus Who were the Dodgers 5 straight ROY winners from 92-96?

  • bspo1

    Lagares is the man.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Thought Murph had a knock there

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    EYjr, Tejada = no future

  • goorru

    Mr potato head

  • Joey D.

And he would have been 1-2 just like he’s taught instead but as Keith said, he instead put the ball in play and when that is done, anything can happen.

But as we know, Met batters hit .200 on pitches on the corners.

  • after 800 years of occupation, famine, nuns and sunburn, I think Luck o’ the Irish is a cruel fable

  • igotyourbackman

I came in late what did he do?

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Sandy and his “lieutenants” are all huddling together somewhere re-crunching their numbers because their metrics show that it’s impossible Lagares and Flores are better than CY and Tejada.

  • Frank Francisco

Abreu gets a lot of hate from Mets fans and it’s completely unwarranted. He’s batting .250/.333/.429 which is fairly decent for a PH.

I disagree with his spontaneous starts but that’s not his fault.

  • Novito

Terry is furious right now. He probably told Juan and Wilmer, “The fugg are y’all doing out there?! #4 sitdown. Tejada you’re in. You’re the starting SS. Remember 2011.”

  • BarnRat

With Terry that could mean several things

  • Andrew Herbst

    Hollinsworth, Piazza, Nomo, and Karros

  • what did he do now?

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Wilmer Flores
    Juan Lagares

    THANKS OMAR MINAYA!!!!!

  • George_Theodore

making Recker bunt with a runner on 2nd & no outs, tie game

  • prosoundz

How the fu ck does a major league manager get to be a major league manager when he misjudges a decision so bad? A blind man could see that Flores and Lagares are light years ahead of EYJ and Tejada.

  • Brian Regan

Shit, not that confidant in dice k
Have other guys ready!!! If he has no command get him out!!!

  • Jpoo

Jenrry available for the save if so?

  • Met lifer

    Hold your breath everyone.

  • I’m laughing. But still unsure if what you say is false or not.

  • why? You saw the result. K, no advance.

  • igotyourbackman

    Oh geez.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Chone Figgins resurrecting his career against the Mets.

  • Joey D.

    Is DyceK ready yet?

  • metsjetsfan

Off topic: Chris Sale is filthy.

  • MyasDaddy

    94 was?

  • There is a God.

  • prosoundz

    You called it!!

  • George_Theodore

    yeah

  • Chris H

Let’s go Dice K get it to mini Rivera(Mejia) in the 9th lol

  • Andrew Herbst

    I think 94 was Karros

  • tacknaf

    you’d have to think, yes

  • MetsfanInParadise

I knew Karros and Mondesi, don’t know how I forgot Piazza ’92. Also Nomo ’95.
    Same question, same team, ’79-’83,

  • MetsLGM

Hope we can keep this lead into the 9th this would be a perfect growth oppotunity for mejia

  • Metropolitan

well then he should take a shower

  • George_Theodore

They said he was pitching tonight

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

LOL….Unless youre talking about Jose Abreu we dont wanna hear it Bobby sucks 😉

  • Jpoo

I think/hope so, TC on the other hand…

  • MyasDaddy

    Karros was the first.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Mondesi

  • MyasDaddy

    Correct

  • Andrew Herbst

    My bad.

  • elsid1986

Pretty sad that the most exciting thing about the Mets on May 22 is what’s going on in the minors.

  • Johan, Bay, Pelf, no Gomez. Thanks Omar!

  • Anthony

I hope we don’t see rice

  • Andrew Herbst

    I forgot about Mondesi

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Are you really 17? I like the fact that you said “growth opportunity”. They must be teaching you kids different stuff nowadays.

  • Joey D.

That was not a swing, agreed.

  • Met lifer

    Angel Hernandez is so bad.

  • MetsfanInParadise

Who were the Dodgers 4 straight ROY winners from 79-83?

  • Anyone else shocked he didn’t catch that??

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Love the bat flip on a double…kinda like that Japanese dude who did the bat flip and it was a warning track out.

  • Joey D.

I never thought I would see a ball hit over Juan’s head!

  • Metropolitan

    DICE -K

    THANKS SANDY……….

  • BarnRat

    Duda would have had it

  • mr mojo risin

    ‘a 2-Iron’ lmao

  • Frank Francisco

That’s gone in 90% of parks

  • Jpoo

You’re kidding right? He’s been great this year aside from the Marlins game

  • Anthony

He just missed tying this game

  • good thing we play in the 10%

  • jjong

I think he thought that it was going to be home run which surprises me,,,,he goes after everything.

  • bspo1

    someone needs to hit Puig

  • they don’t even try

  • Metropolitan

no i am not kidding,he just gave up a 1 out double when we have a one run lead

  • MetsLGM

Pull the fences in guys.. endanger our good pitching for the sake of our terrible hitters. Citi is fine how it is, in fact move the fences back

  • saturn

Someone needs to bean Puig. Soon. Punk. Flipping bats over a double and staring at it. You might have a had a triple there punk

  • For Wright’s money we could have had Puig and Jose Abreu. #justSAYing.

  • Hit too hard, Lagares played it right.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

If he crushed that ball 450…I can appreciate the bat flip. It didn’t even leave the park. Drill that bitch in the ass next time we see him.

  • Novito

Geez this site on my phone is tripping! Too many comments! Lets Go Mets!
Shoutout Joe D, the game threads always going hard!

  • mr mojo risin

Pieces starting to fall into place for next year DESPITE Sandy and Terry’s best efforts to obstruct such progress.

    Mejia Closer
    Lagares CF
    Flores SS
    Grandy LF (where he belongs)
    Wright 3b
    Murphy 2b
d’Arnaud (needs to pick it up and show why he was traded for 2 CY Young winners)

Now sign a RF and 1B (Kendrys Morales) til Nimmo and Dom Smith are ready.

  • Joey D.

Not to try and dig this into anybody, but it’s another guy from the farm system signed by that “other gm” that is making us cheer more than the ones we traded all stars and cy young award winners for. Or the guy we paid $7.25 million for whom anyone who avoided saber stats could not understand why.

Just a bit of getting back at ya on the virtues of conventional wisdom.

  • MetsLGM

funny how it was all rookies and younger guys making this win happen (if it holds). Terry needs to play them everyday, period.

  • BarnRat

He dove = laundry expense = bench

  • Frank Francisco

Puig has been a clown base runner since he’s been promoted. It’s the only real flaw in his game. He has been caught in 11 of his 26 career SB attempts.

  • prosoundz

    ME LIKES!

  • Mejia not only has the stuff to be a closer, kid’s got the attitude. Hope he succeeds there. And by hope I mean Kimbrel good. Lord knows we’re due right??

Kemp should not be in CF though

  • George_Theodore

    Dudie.. fly ball!

  • davidizwright

I would love kemp. His stock is low , a trade for him in the summer wouldnt be bad. LF grandy CF lagares RF kemp

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Grandy in May–.310, 5 HR 14 RBI, .964 OPS

  • Frank Francisco

Granderson has looked a lot better this past month. Batting .300/.365/.552 since May 1st (not even including tonight). Is it possible he’s finally getting back to the type of hitter he was in Detroit?

  • prosoundz

He is a REAL first baseman. We don’t need GG defense at 1b. He just has to catch the fu cking ball.

  • Anthony

    Clutch walk attempt coming up

  • Metfan9876

I really hope d’Arnaud can pick it up when he returns. He struggled out of the gate, got a little hot and then started struggling again.

  • TheMetsMachine

I mean his hitting he will be a .270 hitter at Citi with at best 15 HR’s

  • MetsLGM

well put. I love me some switch hitting power !

  • konyc

Yet the team was 5-14 in May before tonight–go figure.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

He’s looking much better. Way better ABs and he’s laying off a lot of the junk. Glad to see him hitting the gaps again like he did in Detroit.

  • George_Theodore

Thor, Wheeler, Flores & Lagares for Kemp

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

His stock is low, but his salary is high. Would take him if LA ate a crap ton of salary.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Sign me up for that….

    Zack Wheeler for Matt Kemp

  • prosoundz

I think if we sign Morales and allow d’Arnaud to bat low in the lineup without expectations to be the savior, he will slowly adjust and start squaring up the pitches. He has a nice swing and seems a tad late. But I think he will be a beast real soon.

  • mr mojo risin

    they already lost to Miami

  • Brian Regan

Have to score this run. Majolm is not a fireball thrower. Granderson looks much better. Flores on deck!!!

  • Joey D.

I’ll give that to ya cause I knew I was leaving myself open.

But I posted in the CY thread this morning a long article using saber stats justifying the wisdom of CY’s signing and found several others. You can go back to find the link. A lot of them were relating it to the contract amount.

  • MetsLGM

Duda will get his walk and flores will get his rbi’s 🙂

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    😉

  • it was definitely a Moneyball move. Looking for the value and that sort of thing but his advanced stats have been terrible recently, his splits are pronounced. I think SA was gambling, not playing the percentages

  • Skip

    Makes that “worthless” single BIG.

  • Andrew Herbst

Grandy is hitting much better and getting more line drives.

  • I can feel it. DUDA!

  • MyasDaddy

It was never hard to not root against the guy. Class personified.

  • TheMetsMachine

Oh how I wish Sandy was a smart GM and signed a real 1st baseman like Jose Abreu!!! We need a home run hitter on this team!

  • Kevin H

Sadly you are right. Great organizational hitting philosophy.

  • MetsLGM

Duda using a balloon animal up there instead of a bat, swing get that single ! Power !

  • Joey D.

That’s easy – there are eight others in the line up so two or three more who can hit does not make up for the others who cannot.

  • prosoundz

Last years stats: 30 years old btw. Prime years.

    167 hits, 34 dbles, 23 hrs, 80 rbi, .277 .785 slugging

  • TheMetsMachine

Sandy convinced the Broke owners to pay 7 million annualy to Chris Young, 10 million to Colon and 16 million to Grandy…Abreu cost 11 mil annually. It was all on Sandy. Ho chose Ike and Duda

  • Metropolitan

that must be embarrassing for the catcher

  • Joey D.

Though it’s a tough ninth coming up, with Mejia and a two run lead, I feel more confident than I have in a while. I mean, if Duda can steal a base, what else does one need to say?

  • Kevin H

Can he steal bases like Duda?

  • Anthony

    A clutch stolen base duder

  • prosoundz

    Murphy-Wright-Morales-Grandy-Flores?

  • MetsLGM

Lol in what universe can duda actually be fast enough to steal a base? This truly is opposite day..

Mejia will take him. And I am sure Bartolo will get in there and Squash puig up

  • Anthony

Terry gets a plug for this line up as much as I don’t want to give him credit for anything

  • Skip

Maybe were actually upside down…ever think of that?

  • MetsfanInParadise
  • Metsfan27

Not if Terry has anything to say about it!

  • BarnRat

Have to say, it’s very pleasant not to feel sarcastic

  • Dio

    powerful stuff. lol

  • Ted Danson

    Wonder what he does tomorrow.

  • metsjetsfan

I need to try In-N-Out Burger one day!

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Bartolo is the King Kong Bundy of the Mets. Mejia is a little dude but maybe he will Rey Mysterio him.

  • MetsfanInParadise

    Success is fun

  • prosoundz

    Mejia is good at closing.

  • welcome back 😉

  • mad met

He pitched well just got rattled when a call or two did not go his way.

  • saturn

That would be a humungous task to ask of Terry Collins. Tomorrow he would have everything switched in the order

  • Skip

    Oh yeah!!!!

  • everybodysbuddy

it really was the best line-up he’s posted so far. And like Metsfan27 says, probably Tejada and the Youngs tomorrow. Blech………..

  • prosoundz

Mejia’s gonna moonwalk his way to the hall of fame!

  • Abreu playing short

  • Anthony

    Let’s just enjoy tonight haha

  • Joe

Mejia brings alot to this team, especially as a closer. Citi field was LOUD before that last strike. It’s amazing how his energy / personality can change the entire aura of the team.

One word to describe Mejia is ELECTRIC.

  • Chris H

Mejia with the spin move after the strike out. Add that to the moonwalk kid got some moves lol

  • MyasDaddy

Pedro Guerrero, Steve Sax, Fernando Valenzuela and…

  • Skip

Still not at 100? What the heck? Come on people sign up!!!!

  • BarnRat

Looking forward to a good nights sleep!

  • Alwayzamazin

terry will do the opposite of the right thing unless there is a #hashtag riot, this is what it comes down to

  • sperry

I guess with the embargo steroids made it to cuba a decade later

  • MyasDaddy

Wait… Steve Howe was one of them right? No Guerrero

  • Duda would nonchalantly pull the bit of straw out of his teeth and gobsmack him with a big ol’ hillbilly hand

  • Hitmanᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ✔

    Save Wheeler for Profar.

  • saturn

Dont worry tomorrow he will have everything in a different order. You can scream at him then.

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Hahaha @ #hashtag riot

  • Duda would nonchalantly pull the bit of straw out of his teeth and gobsmack him with a big ol’ farmboy hand

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Flores
    Lagares
    Mejia

    THANKS OMAR MINAYA

  • Alwayzamazin

    it worked 🙂

  • Skip

This team just felt good tonight. It’s good to have this excitement around it. Love it!

  • prosoundz

    Mejia IS the Mets!

  • Kevin H

Dice K would use some ninja sh!t on him and knock him out with a pinky to the temple.

  • Cesaro

Need this lineup everyday! D’Arnaud in when he gets back.

  • mad met

    Juan- derful game

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Where is justdadamaja…latino connection, hombres.

  • prosoundz

Ahhh can’t wait til we see a Harvey to Parnell to Mejia game!

  • burnindaylight

I would have been too if I was him! Tell you the truth if I was worried that working a almost-random schedule like a reliever was responsible for my injury, there’s nothing the Mets medical staff could do to calm down my fears!

  • Met lifer

Soup had a better game than it seems. Drove in run with sac fly and had big catch. You know EY muffs that ball.

  • Manuel1991

    Jenrry Swag Mejia

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

    Hahahaha! Nice!

  • Dio

cant wait to see mejia closing a syndegaard game.

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Mets would have to callup Puello as a designated brawler

  • goorru

He’s busy building a Juan Centeno shrine.

  • Skip

Don’t give him any ideas!!! Atleast you didn’t hashtag it…

  • Alwayzamazin

post it when you get it!

  • mad met

Zero chance of seeing that same lineup tomorrow

  • Met lifer

    amen.

  • saturn

Hahaha. I am so picturing this. Or polite manners. He seems like he would be a polite farmboy. lol

  • prosoundz

    Very deep.

  • Alwayzamazin

duda could just push him down and squash him!

  • mad met

Zero chance the same lineup plays tomorrow

  • Met lifer

I like this lineup. Just TDA for Recker.

  • Skip

Bring on the future. Nimmo playing out field along side Lagerus

  • Kevin H

Don’t make him angry. You won’t like him when he’s angry.

  • AJ NISBETT

I’m glad we finally won but we had r ace going I gotta c the rest of the rotation start pitching good but def great win didn’t think we had a shot agaisnt grenke

  • hehe I had to look it up. Duda only has 1 ” and 10 lbs on Puig

  • MattHarvey’sEgo

Puig is a big dude. He’d be a hell of a running back.

  • Met lifer

Me either. He looked off though.

  • Alwayzamazin

right…btwn the medical staff and sandy/tc they did all they could to ruin him. Go Meijia!!!

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    TDA???

    Hes been brutal

  • Dio

our rotation has been pretty solid aside from a few starts. that has def not been our issue which is great. def thought we would never beat greinke. really happy about this win.

  • El_Verdadero_Presidente

Jenrry already mastering that cold closer’s glare at the catcher, just before somebody gets blown away.

  • prosoundz

    Who’s Ruben Tejada?

  • Skip

Oh I get it now….that’s why Terry hates those guys so much…he’s a true Sandy Lover. Now it all makes sense!

  • BarnRat

Let me the first to say that the T Mobile commercial is way too on-point to last….

  • yeah he’s got the size and speed. Duda is definitely more of a fullback/TE

  • Met lifer

Did everyone see Juan’s avg with risp? .335 with 11 RBI. League avg .240

  • AJ NISBETT

Ya he couldn’t spot his fast ball but we also had great at bats a lot of pitches he was hopeing we would swing at nd we didnt

  • Dio

our catchers have been pretty bad lol. it really just comes down to who has sucked the least which is pretty sad in itself. it isnt play the guy who is hot its play the guy who doesnt suck more than the others.

  • saturn

There is really nothing to pick from. I take my chances wih TDA actually tagging runners out than Centeno or Recker. Not that TDA is any good, more like they all suck

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

    Agree….

But TDA has gotten the far majority of that playing time.

  • Met lifer

    And Recker has been special?

  • AJ NISBETT

There should be no case with juan anymore he is our cfer

  • I take TDA’s impressive upside over Recker’s 0 upside and .193 BA

  • he got you to respond, didn’t you? All he cares about

  • Dio

id love to see the tda everybody has been raving about. maybe the concussion knocked something loose and gave him some clarity in healing

  • BadBadLeroyBrown

Wow thats horrible he needs to be benched for EYjr ASAP….Who wants production when you can have a few SB’s

  • Skip

He should ride this lineup out for a long while!

  • Met lifer

    Ahhh! My bad.

  • Bobby O

I concur. I love the swagger of Mejia and when a closer has such. I think confidence and swagger of a good closer can help lift and propel a team as it did for the Mets in 1973 with The Tugger.

  • AJ NISBETT

Does anyone kno how black / thorton r pitching rite now

  • saturn

Mike Vorkunov :Terry Collins has seen decades and decades of baseball. He says the Puig catch was the second best he’s ever seen.

<<<— HOPE TC THE PUNK HAS SEEN LAGARES CATCHES. Maybe he hasnt been looking and thats why he doesnt play him.

  • 2rings

TC very snippy in post game

  • AJ NISBETT

Btw granderson batting .214 I believe great to c he’s hitting again

  • Skip

Maybe he’ll forget everything hudgens has been spewing at him.

  • Anthony

    I can’t listen to terry

  • saturn

He does not have the first or second best catch that he has ever seen. So he is going to be benched.

  • Alwayzamazin

    nicely done, skip!

  • BarnRat

When he has a decent chance to walk he gets a hit. It’s subversive and needs to be investigated.

  • AJ NISBETT

I agree even after a win he sounds like an ass

  • saturn

TC is a first class jerk- cant handle the NY media. Dont coach in NY

  • Skip

    The leash is getting tight.

  • AJ NISBETT

    Wat do u mean?

  • saturn

TC says he will spread soup all over the infield now..hey why not? Hey kid, get a catcher’s glove and see if you can catch too

  • Kevin H

Does TC have a bad coke habbit? The guy is constantly sniffing and touching his nose. It would explain some of his managerial decisions.

  • why the hell would you start Soup at short?

  • Anthony Delgado *17
