On Friday night, Curtis Granderson ripped a ninth inning walk-off single to beat the Miami Marlins 4-3 on Friday night at Citi Field.
Facing Marlins closer Steve Cishek, Granderson lined a two-out single under the glove of Marlins first baseman Garrett Jones, driving in Omar Quintanilla with the winning run that capped the Mets’ two-run rally.
It made Granderson the first player in Mets history to have two different walk-off RBIs in the month of April.
Hopefully this was exactly what Granderson needed to get his bat going and break out of his season-long slump at the plate.
The Mets have now won 13 of 20 games since they were swept by the Washington Nationals in their season-opening three-game series.
