Jeurys- Familia

Despite reports that right-hander Jeurys Familia could return this season after undergoing surgery to clean loose bodies out his right elbow on June 5, manager Terry Collins sounded less than optimistic.

“I heard — now this is only hearsay — that there’s a possibility he may pitch again this year, that he’s really made fast strides after surgery,” Collins told reporters. ”I wouldn’t count on it, but they did say there was a possibility.”

Adam Rubin also added on his blog that Collins was skeptical about the internal reports of a rapid recovery.

“I’ve heard that before,” the manager dryly said.

Wow… Isn’t he just a big bundle of joy…
