MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Detroit Tigers

Anthony DiComo is reporting that Travis d’Arnaud has been cleared to begin a running program, after he saw doctors today. That’s great news, and now you can get your minds running about the possibility of Travis d’Arnaud catching Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler in September. D’arnaud should be heading to Port St. Lucie to get his rehab started.

I’m sure all Mets fans are hoping that his rehab goes quickly and successfully. The acquisition of a potential star catcher threw most Mets fans into a frenzy when looking ahead, and I ranked him #2 on our MMN Top Prospects List in the off-season. D’arnaud was only able to accumulate 49 plate appearances before his injury in 2013, but he already racked up five doubles and a home run. He’s coming off a ’12 season where he posted a .333/.380/.595 line with 16 home runs, 21 doubles, and 52 RBI.
