Cyclones Wear Special Jerseys To Honor Areas Affected By Sandy

An article by posted on June 19, 2013

Even with the new turf field, Brooklyn Cyclones’ opening night was postponed due to rain.

But even so, the players wore special blue jerseys to honor the area of the metro area affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Instead of the player’s name, the words “Breezy Point,” “East Rockaway ” and Coney Island, as well as the other areas, appeared on their backs.

Some of the jerseys were raffled off to fans after the game was called, and the others will be raffled off at a later date.

Check out the photos below, and stay tuned for a few feature pieces on the start of the season.
