and not surprisingly…when Reyes fought to play in the game….the reporter makes HIM out to be the villian

So, Did Reyes throw a haymaker at Ray? Nope…he did the same thing any athlete does…he tries to compete

Maybe he had to use the bathroom? maybe he had the runs ?

and Reyes missed most of Spring Training with the thyroid condition…missed the beginning of the 2010 season…

started out by hitting .238 in April… .278 in May… .314 in June… .308 in July ( playing injured )… Still INJURED, he hits .302 in August
Removed from a game on Aug. 26 after aggravating oblique injury. Does not return until Sept. 10.

So yeah, its safe to say, he had an injury filled 2010, hit 1st-2nd and 3rd…stopped switch-hitting at one point…and STILL

From May 19th – August 24th hit .330

So, you are saying Reyes put his entire career at risk and that Alex’s comment about irresponsible play applies more to Reyes and Beltran then?

Or are you agree with me that Wright did NOT put his entire career/contract at risk since previous players played hurt?

And even though 2010 was one of the poorer offensive years of his career, you say he hit pretty well?

It’s not like he’s never played hurt for the Mets.

So what would you conclude from that fact?
He wanted to continue to play when he reported the Injury it was the Mets that said NO MORE….
That tells you he wanted to play in those games more!
Cause now he isn’t playing…Maybe thats by force (of the FO maybe not)

In the end he played THROUGH an injury for a week instead of resting and now he seems headed to missing the first week of the regular season….

Whatever the motivation involved Wright screwed up….
All I insinuated was WHY he might have done what he did!

It’s like I had opined, that if Wright didn’t initially report it it was because he did not feel it was an issue. I do not believe he would purposely do something to jeopardize his season to participate in the WBC. These things just happen just as it did to him last Spring when there was no WBC and just as it has happened to other players during Spring Training.

He just didn’t think it would effect his season.
