They most likely could have used Isiah as they had some injury issues at guard. As for the arse Laettner was only there to represent the college players.

I don’t mind Wright going, it’s a nice way for some of the tweeners like Lutz or Satin to get a few extra at bats this spring, but I agree on Davis. After his start last year it is important for him to have all the time he needs to put together a good start this year and have that great complete season that he’s capable of having.

Well, i won’t say he wasn’t as good, arguably isiah was one of the best if not the best PG in the game at that time, but he had an issue with the best player in the world in jordan, and the committe made a choice, who do we wanna have, Jordan or him? They made the correct choice. also, dont’ forget laetner was on that team

The players didn’t want Isiah on the dream team because he was a dirty disrespectful player, not even close to the same situation.

On top of that, Isiah wasn’t really on the level of any of the other players ( because of his attitude.)

Call me selfish but I’m glad he isn’t going….

I wish Wright had not gone as well…
We never seem to gain from these Extracuricular baseball activites (I include the All Star game in that) and usually when the player gets back he slumps or is not as good as when he left…

I know it’s an honor for the players and one they probably deserve…
But if it were up to me I wouldn’t let them go because I would rather if something bad happens it’s on OUR time not some useless game that has no benefit to the Mets.

But like I said I’m being selfish in that thought.

Exactly, he needs the reps and a good start to cement himself as the best player on this team. defense, power and a good avg will shut up lots of critics. Like i said, this guy will be in some type of MVP discussion imho….

I hope not! I see Ike as a big key to any possible success. If he turns the corners and can become more consistent and stay healthy he will have more opportunities.
