I may be looking forward to see Harvey pitch…
Just not looking forward to checking the standings in the NL East everyday because it will just ruin whatever it was I saw….

The biggest fear is all these guys everyone is looking forward to seeing do well yet we are still last or next to last in the division because the rest of them are not worth watching and might even be painful to watch as they go out there and blow the effort of guys like Harvey every other start.

As I still am generally, and when I first got here I had no problem telling some people the same things they were saying back. I made it a point to treat them as they were treating others, I got multiple warnings about the commenting policy(only me), so I made it a point to link the MMO commenting policy article to anyones comment that was remotely similar to what i was warned for, a week or two later, the bans started, and things have finally seemed to calm down.

All we want is to debate NY METS baseball!! If that’s not why you are here… well then why are you here? (thats rhetorical in general, not directed at you or anyone in the slightest)

Alex, I can gladly admit that I got out of line with you and Bayonne in the past, but we ALL continued to get caught up in that non-sense that takes away from the actual debates, we have different view points on quite a few things which is good for debate, we just, both, need to keep it in focus, and on topic, agreed?

Something like 70% of prospects don’t make it, right? So, obviously there is always the possibility that our prospects won’t make it, we can easily agree here, if the only thing we can agree on. lol

I can absolutely understand not wanting to get hyped on a prospect, We’ve certainly had our fair share of prospect busts.. does anyone remember Anderson Hernandez? lol

Like I said, I am just hopeful that Matt Harvey, Wheeler, D’arnaud and even Flores can all perform exceptionally well for us at Citi Field in the not so far off future, if it doesn’t work out that way, well that’s how it goes sometimes.

I don’t discount optimism and hope (otherwise, why else be a Mets fan). But some folks (not saying you) start penciling in young players to his a certain level immediately when that is just simply unrealistic.

I am a relative newcomer here so I don’t know enough about the backhistory but from my perspective there seems to be a lot of personal attacks going back and forth that are just silly. I cannot believe Joe D has to police grownups (and I’m pretty sure he can’t believe it either), but there you have it.

Random, i usually don’t waste my time with you because all you do is come in here to insult us, but i will take my time to respond because you finally acted civil around us. I will say this, while i understand the excitement of some of you guys, it is hard for me to get super hyped about prospects, based on the fact that more often than not, they become bust, once i see wheeler come up and pitch for us is a different story, it’s not as if we have the next gooden or strawberry in the wings, no, we have decent players coming up, if they turn out to be all stars good for them and us because we have them, if not, i won’t hang my head around and be sad. move on to the next prospect and hope for the best, people killed minaya for his picks and how the farmed sucked etc, but we had guys who were supposed to be good, they just didn’t pan out, i killed minaya for his insane way of spending the mets money, but not for being a scout, sometimes you get a kid who’s supposed to be a stud, then, the player doesn’t pan out, it happens all the time.

No ones carving their cooperstown plaques though. We are simply saying we are excited to see what our prospects may be bringing to the table, because LIKE OTHERS who have succeeded, and OTHERS who have failed, they do have ALOT of potential.

Alot of you guys(and im not saying you, specifically) act as if we treat these prospects like annual all-stars, when we do not. We simply speak our mind about what we HOPE the future will hold for these prospects.

Everyone else has a right to an OPINION also, not just a few specific people who think their opinions are the only things that matter, and that by commenting on their comment you are insulting their views and you should mind your own business, but they have no problem telling you you are an idiot for your views, on your own comment threads.

People take things so personal here in the comments on this site, and instantly feel like they need to ‘defend’ themselves, when really, they are just making it worse on themselves, since no one really reads their regularly childish comments claiming everyone is liars and attacking them.
