Off Topic: Just finished watching the WBC Championship game. Gotta give props to D.R. they ran the table going undefeated to win it all. The pitching was just too too good. Props to my land of birth P.R. who can hold their heads high going further than many could of realistically expected. They upset Venezuela, USA and Japan. Nice gesture at the end by the players coming out and congratulating D.R. on the field.

Harvey takes no prisoners and asks no quarter. He has the attitude of a big time pitcher. I like pitchers who are never satisfied.

the mindset and approach is the most impressive thing about Harvey. Plenty of guys have “stuff” and never manage to accomplish much (or what you think they should) with it.

He also developed tremendously since he got out of school and turned pro. Whether from the coaching or his work ethic, it was noticeable. Again, plenty of guys figure they are “the man” and don’t want to put the work in (party time instead).

it was basically classic MC. a valid, rational point, horribly worded so easily misinterpreted.

it is true that a lot of extremely good pitchers never win a Cy Young. and Harvey could easily have a career that would make him one of the all time great met pitchers and not win one, because it is really hard to do.

so the point being that he could be a cy young level talent and still not win a cy young. Heck, Koosman never won a Cy.

Every time I read a Harvey comment I am always impressed. The kid talks how I would expect a seasoned veteran to talk.

I would agree. With Harvey, Wheeler, and Niese, the Mets have the making of an excellent starting staff. They key is if they will be able to stay healthy or not. That is what usually derails pitchers with that much talent once they get to this stage.

Harvey has looked like a future ace and if Wheeler is can be just as good or even better, then we have a serious rotation in the making. Hopefully Niese can take the next step as well.

2014 is looking very bright if those three are anchoring our rotation…

well the probability of him (or any stud prospect) doing so is very low, but it was a stupid comment nonetheless.

I mean Matt Cain has never won a CY Young (and might never do so) and he’s been one of the best pitchers in the game the past several years…
