Honestly, I thought it would the other way around.

The good news is that despite attempts to circumvent the ban by two of these in the past, our new firewall is doing it’s thing.

There are some things you say publicly and others you say privately…

You will get as much respect as you give!

And if the upper management feels it is fine and dandy to air family arguments in the press then why did they get so bent out of shape when Dickey did what they did and just answered honestly without thinking an edit of the mouth was reasonable or needed?

You know that MEDIA as a phone thing cuts both ways…

If you communicate with your players via the press they will will respond to you via the same press!

Honestly, St. Augustine once wrote that you should never use the truth to injure. Not sure that applies here but I’ve been dying to use that quote. I’m not even sure that’s a true statement – I just remember reading it somewhere.

But I digress.

Sandy, in my opinion, wanted to send a message to Johan through the press. Johan, again in my opinion, is a warrior. I get a little queasy when I read that a Mets official has said something about a player that really should be a private conversation with the player.

Throwing around the “disappointment” word is something the press will jump on. Sandy knew this.

I’m sure that Johan is disappointed over how the team has been gutted over the past two years. I’m sure that Johan doesn’t want to be on a team which arguably won’t contend for another two years – particularly at his age.

I’m sure that Johan is proud enough to know that it’s very disappointing for him to be on a team that can’t wait to get his salary off the books.

But, you don’t hear Johan speaking about how disappointed he is with the Mets.

I suspect that Sandy’s playing a bit of a game with his comments.

That’s my opinion – that’s what I read into it.

Greetings Mets fans, this is Adam Rubin and I’m here to tell you to start saving up your Benjamins for those 2013 Mets playoff tickets.

Took an honest look at the Mets outfield and they stand up well to the the Braves’ Justin, B.J. and Heyward trifecta.

I would say the Mets bullpen is now the best in the NL East, better than the Nationals or Braves.

I’d take the Mets big three in the rotation over anyone else the Braves, Phillies or Nats can throw at us. Who do they got? Non-talents like Strasburg, Halladay, Medlen, Lee, Gonzalez? We got Marcum, Johan and Niese.

Plus we have our secret weapon, Terry Collins. I;d take him over Davey Johnson any day.

So Mets fans, this is your year. Nobody in the NL East measures up to the Mets. The Mets will win the division while the other four will battle it our for last place.

WHAT is playing the OUTFIELD!

You know it makes a ton of sense to have a positive outlook if your facing Cancer or some other life threatening issue….

But this is baseball!

They can’t win every year….
So accept that and move on!
And if you don’t want to accept that then don’t argue against the implementation of things that can make your dream come true!

But don’t go around writing hate mail to a guy charged with reviewing the team for saying “Not so good!”

No one had a problem accepting Jersey Girl was an awful movie even though most people love Kevin Smith as a director!
You accept it and just move on and hope (not fight against) something that can change it!

I do Miss signman!

Omar’s shot to discredit Rubin was more or less a standpoint to call out a writer who had been calling for heads for a particular incident, and questioning his staff and his decisions altogether. I would have been angry if I was Omar.

As going for what I thought of the article, I don’t like Rubin’s criticism, but I believe he is very right in many contexts. I am a super-positive fan, and continue to believe almost blindly, but what he did was put enthusiasm in check, which is something any fan needs to do.
He’s right about the outfield,
He’s right about the rotation everyone has been excited about.
He’s right about the bullpen that has been pieced together,

Having said this, I don’t like the was he went about it. I value his opinion, but his delivery upsets me.

There was bigger Mets fan than him and he killed the Mets with his placards as much as he praised them. And if you saw him during some of his many interviews he pulled no punches.

If he were alive to day, you’d know he had have a back sign with neon letters that said Exit Sandman.

Then someone from the dessert of the brigade here would have him assassinated. lol

Two weeks ago Bourn was not worth the money and he would not have put this team into the playoffs…

Now that THAT fire has been extinguished we are back to being a team that can make the playoffs!

I mean really folks…PICK ONE!
