Duda Says “Everything’s Good” After Being Scratched Friday, Chance He’ll Play Today
Mets left fielder Lucas Duda was a late scratch from Friday’s 6-2 victory over the Tigers.
Duda left camp briefly to be examined for a non-baseball-related health issue, reports Marc Carig of Newsday.
General manager Sandy Alderson categorized the issue as minor and Duda refused to elaborate.
“Everything’s good,” he said.
Manager Terry Collins told reporters that Duda might also be out of the lineup for this afternoon’s game against the Marlins.

Duda is looking for living quarters in Las Vegas. He also has an interview at a unnamed casino as a bouncer. He is a nice dude though.
Duda is the new Ollie P, Jason Bay and Mike Pelfrey of the team. Even though he is not overpaid there is something about him that concerns me. He has a lot on his shoulders in my opinion and needs to step up.
Cowgill should be given a chance to start with Valdespin playing 2B in Murph’s abscence if it carries over to the start of the season.
Four nice guys on the YELLOW brick road:
Ollie looking for his fast ball
Pelfrey looking to have courage
Bay looking for his swing
Duda looking to have confidence
The Wizard SA sent them elsewhere
It’s not like Duda is an established big league player rehabbing from an injury, and he’ll produce at high levels again once he fully recovers. It’s Duda, still unproven with scads of Q-marks hanging all over the guy–like scales–recovering from an injury and sustaining setbacks in the ONLY part of his game that, potentially, is MLB caliber–his hitting!
The longer he remains a Q-mark, the more i worry.
Lucas Duda concerns me. I’m not so sure he’s up for the challenge of batting 5th and playing left field everyday.
Lucas Duda smiled today.
Good to see Duda’s bat get going today.
