Why don't you put up wins and losses?

Kidding.

Anyway since these posts haven't gotten a lot of attention let me just say I think you're doing a very good, very fair job with them. None have been overly optomistic or pessimistic and have struck a nice balance between being attainable and the best case scenario.

On Parnell, what's interesting is that after flashing a lot of promise he really put tpgether a fine year. You mentioned the trading of strikeouts for better control, what's interesting was his pitch selection. PitchF/X had him throwing a fastball that they recorded as a two seamer, and throwing more of a curve than a slider and that became a very good pitch for him.

Seems like he's been a pretty damn good 9th inning pitcher to me, in fact was down right dominant last year.

Timing is everything and I think that Francisco's struggles and subsequent injury came at the right time for Bobby Parnell to become the closer for the Mets. He was pretty good last season in general but when Francisco went down, Bobby did a good job as the closer. With Francisco not being able to pitch this spring, Parnell has been the guy which has given him time to adjust mentally. He has always had the stuff to do the job but has become a better pitcher who has learned to change speeds better....

He may not get a load of save opportunities if the club plays poorly...but I think it is his time now to be the closer and that he will do nicely.....

I am 100% in Parnell's corner as a fan....mainly because he is the closer and we have no choice.

Hopefully his mental approach finally catches up to his live arm and he succeeds in the role. Everyone knows the Mets need it.

Here's hoping that closer role won't be a revolving door this season.
