Following up on what I reported earlier this morning, Jordany Valdespin is uninjured and was suffering from cramps after an 18-inning Caribbean Series game yesterday in cold weather, according to ESPN Deporte’s
Enrique Rojas. Good news.
Original Post 9:00 AM.
I was just notified by one of my writers that Mets outfielder Jordany Valdespin hurt himself swinging in the Caribbean Series.
Spin decided to stay in the game to complete his at-bat and grounded out. But he hurt himself further by running it out to first base and had to be helped off the field.
Valdespin was having a solid season in Winter Ball for Licey in the DR, batting .280 with a .402 on-base in 93 at-bats with three homers and 16 runs scored.
I’ll have more on this as I try to get more information on the severity of the injury.
