If SNY had a half a brain in thier head they would broadcast 2 Hrs live everyday from camp and show the workouts, Pitchers, Hitters with some Inteviews…even mic up a coach or two to see what they talk about and take advantage of the long thirst of people who want to see baseball regardless of it being a game or not and are just curious as to what goes on in Camp.
At least until the actual games start.
Sure would do better ratings than Beer Money and yet another talking newspaper heads discussing the same 10 issues…
AGREED!
I like the idea. If they do it, it’s your idea Metsie.
They can have the idea for free as long as they Hire me to be the EIC of the shoot! LOL
Hi Metsie,
Your show business experience comes through. Great idea.
SNY might as well give us something more for our money, anyway. Cablevision announced it is going to add a $2.98 per month sports programming surcharge similar toVerizon FiOS and DirecTV. Some of those extra monthly nickels and dimes I’m sure go to offset increased charges from SNY and others while keeping the remaining few coins themselves for their own pockets.
Just shows there are ways the Wilpons can make more money even from us career-long couch potatoes.
Most of that is to offset the cost of ESPN while also creating a second tier for Sports which is the major driving force in the high cost of Cable these days.
At some point ALL SPORTS will be a second tier option outside of basic cable. (Fox, ABC, CBS and NBC Excluded)
You have a sports network you won’t get a deal that includes payment for every subscriber just the ones that have the Sports Tier subscription.
The sports networks keep raising the bids to get the rights and then charge extortionate amounts to carry them to make it all back. And they hold the cable companies histage over the loss of coverage of games.
This is the response the cable companies came up with now only the subscribers who actually want the sports package will have to pay for it.
Also expect to see more TV Networks removed from your cable system this year than added…
Time Warner has already started declining to renew some network contracts over price and lack of ratings.
IFC may bite the dust soon on TWC. And AMC is even considering moving Walking Dead to IFC to save the network and force TWC to carry it.
How right you are. I never turn to SNY unless it’s Mets related. I want to see the outfield competition and the the new relief pitchers, also Buck, and Flores, etc. Hell, I need my baseball fix and would watch every one of the Spring games. What’s the motive in only televising half the games?
I want to see den Dekker, Brown, Cowgill and of course Wheeler.
There’s about 21 available for anybody else who has mlb.tv
