I like the Marcum signing if he can stay healthy he should do well for us. I don’t know enough about Lyon except to say that based on what i read and hear he sounds like a good pickup. I believe the Mets are still keeping tabs on Brian Wilson if so I’d like to see them get him in here at some point in the near future.

Ok, so we lost out on Bourn. And Lyon’s contract has bonuses for saves. And we hear that the bullpen is much improved. I am not yet buying that. I think FF will have a better year in 2013 than 2012, mostly because 2012 wass real bad and he wasn’t very healthy. Still, Alderson has not provided Collins a reliable closer for the 2013 team, someone with proven MLB closing high-level pedigree capability. There is absolutely no excuse to take a gamble on Wilson. None. Sanddy, spend some of those precious dollars burning a hole in your pocket on a Wilson incentive-laden gamble, yes gamble. Maybe he isn’t ready by April 1, maybe he never returns to his 2010 form. But, maybe he does, and if he does our pen gets really deep. God knows they will not be scoring many runs, being that we have no proven leadoff hitter and the worst on-paper OF in MLB. Wilson costs no picks, does not compromise the future in any way, so there are no excuses. Or, will the Mets lose out to the Padres or Astros on this one?

That contract says otherwise. Frank Frank will also prove otherwise. So I think otherwise.
