“No field personnel may wear distracting jewelry of any kind. Distracting jewelry includes any item worn or used by a Player which, in the opinion of the umpire, could interfere with the play of the game or umpires’ ability to make calls, or endanger the health or safety of a Player, including the Player wearing the jewelry.”

That must have come out in the 80s when some guys were rocking Mr T starter kits.

This rule is meant to prevent corporations from branding players like a NASCAR. As ridiculous as it might look, I would certainly consider putting a Nike swoosh on my forearm if the price was right.

The only corporate logos that I could see a player possibly having that could fall in this category would be the Playboy and Harley Davidson logos.

Shouldn’t that read while on a base as opposed to while running the bases?
Hard to change shoes while running isn’t it?

Reyes used to pull his jersey out of his pants the second the game ended without fail. Why wasn’t he ever confronted about it? Not that I really care, but if you’re going to have a rule about it shouldn’t it be enforced?

Also, I was shocked that there was no rule forbidding punching out your father in law in the family room. after a game
