You can say a lot of things about Valentine both good and bad….
But there is no denying he is a guy who keeps stirring the pot and sometime you just need a little stirring to get the results you want.

If he had replaced Willie I bet 2008 goes very differently. Maybe 2009 too!

That team needed a bit of stirring….
But that said he was the wrong guy to take over in 2011. Not the right mix for him…And in his case it is always better when he has managed a farm team before taking over to get some kids that are his own for when he comes up.

One of the funniest moments in Mets lore.
Saw an interview a couple of years ago where Bobby V. talked about that game. Pretty funny interview.

I’m sure those umps in that crew that day were not amused that they failed to notice his disguise, even thought the media picked right up on it.
