"With the Mets in need of a bullpen overhaul, Feliciano would be an inexpensive high-risk, high-reward type of player..."

Actually, if Pedro was inexpensive then it would be 'low-risk, high-reward - right?

I'm sure every Yankee fan thought the Pedro deal was AWFUL, not just because he was injured for the entire time, but because of that lost draft pick.

I'm sure most Mets fans feel Bourn is a bad idea because (1) he's an overpriced BorASS client (2) the Mets lose a first or second round pick for signing him (3) he's 30 and the record for defensive centerfielders retaining their value past 30 is very poor over the last decade or so.

But he's the type of player that is right up Omar's alley, lmao. Omar would probably sign Bourn to a 4-5 year contract at least for roughly 13-15 million per year. He'd become an albatross by year 2 or 3.

Sorry IF,

Thought you were talking about players just outright released by Mets without arbitration or anything. You should, however, get your observation copyrighted so no one else can steal your glory in future times. :)

Sorry, please forgive me - and Joe D. - please don't put me on 30 days probation!!!

Hey IF,

I've got dibs on that one - I was the first to suggest that Sandy released players only so he can then say he came through on his promise and made changes in the outfield and bullpen by signing free agents. :)

"I don’t know for sure, but I believe the Caravan ended in 2006 because that front office didn’t want to bother their big-name talent with publicity at a time of year when they were wrapping up their off seasons"

Matt Cerrone

( completely forgets the fact that the Wilpons gave Carlos Delgado an ultimatum because they had to rush back to the Winter Caravan in 2005...which ticked off Delgado's agent enough that he cut off negotiations immediately )

Doing a winter caravan in January when your son has to personally fly with the GM and sign players is the real reason why we it didnt make sense to continue.

Picture This

2 yeARS from now Fulmer gets called up n he's pitching a shutout vs. the Yankees. The score of the game is 2-0 with Tex at the plate bases loaded 1 out Pedro gets called into the game. Tex grounds first pitch into double play and Mets go on to sweep series for first time. The next day how does everyone feel about Pedro?

Yankee Fans=Lots of Crying and it's not fair.
Mets Fans=Not sure why for days they cant erase silly smile from there faces.

Hi "if" and "is",

If Rauch is re-signed as well, then the addition of Feliciano and Wilson on paper would certainly enhance our chances of improving the bullpen. Francisco moved back to a middle innings guy, Parnell, Rauch, Feliciano leading up to Wilson - would still need help but a whole lot better than last two years (though Rauch had a bad stretch of 17 appearances from late April to early June when he was just about awful nearly every apperance but then straightened himself out until the end of the year when hit hard again five of his last six appearances - so the question is reliability).

But then the Mets would need a top outfielder (or two decent ones) to actually not punt away 2013. Sandy said he has some money but that doesn't mean he's using it - so perhaps this whole conversation goes for naught.
