He was brought in on a minors deal and they are uncertain if LoMo will be ready so they may need a temporary 1B. Then after that Kearns likely becomes a RH pinch hitter.

I still think Loria’s plan was to get the stadium built and then to sell the team. The team is worth over $100m more than when he bought it, even without the talent on the roster.

I think he’s just a flipper of franchises. He did it with the Expos when he deserted Canada and he’ll do it again with Miami.

Something is probably up and it probably involves Stanton.

Lets not forget that Selig almost pulled the plug on the toronto deal due to the number of talented players that would get sucked out of the Marlins roster….

My guess is he if he gets wind of Stanton going to he will have enough evidence to take some action against them.

Stanton may be the straw that breaks Loria’s back and he knows it so keep any conversations hush hush until it happens so he will at least get one owner (whoever gets stanton) to help sell the deal.

Stadium deals are about making money for owners, and making legacies(however fraudulent) for politicians.

Frank McCort, wherever he is, should be upset with himself and Selig. Sure he made a boatload, but it could have been much more had he only fallen in line with the powerful Selig.

I would imagine that Marlins fans hate Selig just as much as Met fans should.
