Pitchers and catchers are to report to Port St. Lucie on Monday, February 11. They will take their physicals on Tuesday, February 12, and will workout for the first time on Wednesday, February 13.

Meanwhile, the mandatory reporting date for all other players is on Saturday, February 16, and their physicals will be on Sunday, February 17. The team’s first full squad workout will be on Monday, February 18.

The New York Mets 2013 Grapefruit League Schedule begins Saturday, February 23 against the Washington Nationals at 1:10 PM in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Mets, who are celebrating their 25th Anniversary in Port St. Lucie, will play 19 Spring Training contests at home.

The Mets will open their 2013 Major League season Monday, April 1 at Citi Field, with a 1:10 PM game vs. San Diego.

MMO will be giving away a free pair of tickets to Opening Day once again sometime around early March, so stay tuned for contest details.

I think it would be great for the Mets to play an exhibition game in Las Vegas to launch the new affiliate. Lots of fans winter in the west, so that would be a treat.

  Actually Feb is the worst month to go to Vegas….
  The wind storms that Vegas has during that month is almost hurricane strength…

  This team is largely built on HOPE as it has purged pretty much all the known performers from the system that it had….

This is the only month to watch the Mets play when you have hope, they they ruin it by starting the season. I am not excited,about going down to PSL as much as I usually am. This is going to be a hard team to watch. Thank goodness they are only in FL for a month.

They probably can leave the whole team down here after March, as they have a minor league team that plays here as well. If they raise ticket prices like they did last year I will not be going.

Flights to Florida at that time are cheaper this year because all the schools here burned their winter break vacation during the storms, if that entices anyone further.
