As you know I was fine with Wright being traded and wrote a few pieces of my own but I did want MLB ready talent in return for him. That being said, I do believe the deal he signed is far from handicapping and I can see why they believed it was necessary to extend him and at worst he was signed at fair market. That’s done. Can’t change it. However, keeping both Wright and Dickey and being competitive would only have been possible if they were willing to bump payroll back to 140M and that wasn’t happening.

Listen, “Buddy” i was in full on board in trading BOTH wright and dickey, we are not gonna contend in 2013, why pay $20+ million for them if we are not gonna compete? Get as much as you can for both, reload with talent all around and go from there. but instead, inexplicably we signed wright to a long term while rebuilding.. Makes sense. SMH!

Ok, now flip it the other way around, what if he’s yet again a CY candidate? What if he does have an awesome season? Again, this deal needed to be made, it was done, we’ll be able to know who got the better of the deal in 5 or maybe 6 years.

Holy Crap! This is getting to the point of insanity. I loved Dickey and I’m sad to see him go but I love this trade. Yes I understand that there is a huge risk with dealing in prospects but the reward is also pretty large. All “experts” (and I know that they are wrong more than the average weather man) agree that the Mets got a great package for Dickey and now we need to further develop these players.

I wonder, for all those who are making a big deal of loosing RA, I wonder how they would react next year if he went on say a 4 or 5 game loosing streak were his era jumps to over 5 for that time frame. They would be the first ones kicking and screaming that we should have traded him for anything.

Umm…. Ok, first of all, i’ve been reading how sandy just made a great move for the future yada yada.. With that being said, is it fair to say we are punting 2013 just like we did 2011 and 2012? Once again, 2 moves all offseason around david wright and dickey, other than that the mets have been sitting on their hands in terms of adding talent to the team to improve. Let’s hope this trade works out for us, i have been reading good things about this kid d’Arnaud, he’s not a superstar but a good player who can hit 20-25 HR for us while calling a good game, let’s hope this trade works out better than that famous trade we did with TOR for another pitcher back in 1992 or that this prospect turns out to be better than the last prospect we acquired from them 2 years ago in the rule V. Good move for the future, but let’s focus on 2013, we have not made a single move to improve this team and most likely we won’t. 2013 will be another wasted year under sandy while we wait for Nimmo, Wheeler, d’Arnaud to come up and save the franchise..
