Mr. Met Rocking A Hawaiian Shirt, Sunglasses And Flip-Flops
The St. Lucie Mets unveiled their new logo on Monday in an afternoon full of pomp and circumstance. Okay, you can ditch that last part, I just always wanted to use those words in a sentence about the Mets.

“It’s a fresh look. We thought it was a good time with our 25th anniversary coming up in 2013, and it was a good opportunity,” said Paul Taglieiri, the New York Mets’ Director of Florida Operations “We wanted to stay with what the big club was doing and also add our own touches to it.
“I love the orange. We moved the black away from the uniform, and it really has a Florida look to it. And I love Florida Mr. Met — it gives us our own identity as our own team.”
Mr. Met in a Hawaiian Shirt, sunglasses and flip-flops? You gotta love it…
I like the new look, it’s kind of fun and you still have the Mets colors, but now with more orange… Hey it’s Florida… Oranges over there are like bagels here in New York.
Okay, I’m ready for breakfast…

So this is why you were ignoring my texts…
Are we just posting articles at 2 AM now? Is that our new thing? You get points for using pomp and circumstance.
Heh. Nice logo, though. I’m down with it.
Sorry, where Mr. Mets is concerned, there are no rules. I have him on speed dial.
Welp, you missed two people complimenting you in the other thread for Mr. Met.
Priorities, my friend.
Go back to bed, Fred.
Just so happy we acquired a top catching and pitching prospect in the RA deal. AND got rid of Nickeas. I’m glad for Thole, of all people. Thought the Mets lopped too much on the young man, and he kind of got overwhelmed. He’ll do better in Toronto in a platoon situation where he can revert to being a solid contact hitter.
Damn – really going to miss RA, though, who emits fine character with every breath.
Santana, Harvey, Niese, Mejia/Wheeler & Gee
Francisco, Parnell, Familia, Ramirez, Hefner, Carson, Edgin
2015 will look something like this…
Harvey, Wheeler, Niese, Fulmer, Syndergaard
Parnell, Mejia, Tapia, Montero, Familia, Carson & Edgin
The Outfield:
Don’t be surprised to see Kirk, Valdespiin and Lagares patrolling the vast expanse at Citifield next year. It’s an ideal time to break these guys in at the major league level. I’d like to see Hairston return.
The absence of Jason Bay. If ever there was addition by subtraction.
Here’s my opening day roster, if we re-sign Hairston:
rf -Lagares
2b Murphy
3b Wright
1b Davis
lf Hairston
cf Kirk/Spin
c d’Arnaud/Buck
ss Tejada
Bench: Buck, Valdespin, Cedeno, Baxter, Zach Lutz
Ok, so, we’re still punting 2013 right? Good that we extend wright, traded dickey…. But then what else? It’s not as if we improved by extending wright, and on the dickey trade see me in 3 years so… We’re basically got worst for 2013 and sandy STILL is sitting on his hands in terms of acquiring talent .. Keep drinking this man kool aid.. MEts fans are all giddy but about d’Arnaud and the other kid, but again, this team lost 88 games last year while everyone was having a fantastic first half but we all knew it wasn’t gonna last, how about doing something to improve the roster sandy? 3 years, all we are excited about is 3 minor leaguers.. Amazing.
Never seen any other GM gets this kinda of past from the media and the fans.. SMH
So the mets are trying to get an OF, and rumors has it, Coco Crisp is one guy we might acquire, but here’s what almost got me dying… The Executive Director of MB had this words to say about the OF: “Crisp does make sense for the Mets. He’s only a decent defensive center fielder at this point in his career, but he’d add a nice element to the top of the team’s lineup (since he still draws enough walks and he’s still pretty quick), which would also allow Ruben Tejada to move back to batting second. I also like that he’s on a one-year deal (at $7 million) with a team option for 2014″
So, How does a guy that had an 325 OBP draws lots of walks or gets on base? Ohh, He meant walks? Ok, he walked 45 times in 500 AB. Ohh, but he steals bases? I thought according to the sabergooner #1, SB are a foot note no? And, If Ike davis who’s job is to hit HR and Drive runs got murder in here for his low OBP then i want the same treatment for the guy we might acquire, it’s only fair no? Or would the people treat him differently because it was SA who acquired him??
He’s dressed like my dad when my folks go to Florida for the winter.
Hell, throw some black socks on with those sandals and he’ll fit right in with the locals.
