I cant remember how many times he said he would start Duda,Valdespin,Ike against more lefty’s when the Mets were out of contention for the playoffs only to see him go back on his word.

They are young and getting there 1st taste of the pro’s if they dont face LHP they will never improve.

Platoons should only be used when you have no other options. I hate platooning young players it is pointless and stunts there growth

Platoons can work but they are only advised if you really have no other option available that can hit both Righties and Lefties.

Your not letting the players carry on thier hot bat and your also wasting a Roster spot as it requires two roster spots to fill one position.

Roster spots are the one limitation a team is FORCED to contend with, You can spend as much money as you want, but in the end you have to put together the best 25 guys you can if you want to win.

a Platoon is a fall back option that exposes the fact your Roster is not built efficiently and for every platoon you use you are hurting yourself at some other position where that Roster spot is needed such as the Bullpen or Bench Depth.

Watching the mets last year i started to hate the lefty vs righty tactic. I understand why i do. but what i hate is you have a player plays that game then maybe not the next two or more. when a player plays everyday he can get into a groove and a hitting streak maybe even hot. I dont like the plattoon idea sometimes i think it doesnt help develop a player. I mean your gonna tell me that its not possible for righty to hit a righty and knock in some runs? maybe im just not knoledgable in the game or maybe its just the mets that frustrate me so, and this works with the other 29 teams. What are your thoughts on this?

I’m sorry but anyone who feels 4 or 5 years of being bad leads to a good outcome is either asleep or hypnotized….

I feel they are about as bright as the characters from that series….
