Yawn…the beat goes on..The Giants and Cardinals have won the last 2 years with the payroll we now have.As Joey D, said the real problem is the FO and the owners are a bunch of clueless arseholes.Most of the fans have known it for years.I hope they lose another minimum of half a mill customers next year.Raising prices and not adding players should do the trick.I have to give them credit for that

Until Met all fans send a message by not showing up this will continue to happen. It needs it get so bad that when the TV cameras pan the seats that it looks like a ghost town.

Than the Mets can promote 1) each fan gets his own section night 2) personal vendor night 3) friends and family night 4) every fan gets a foul ball

Don’t buy advance tickets!… Wait them out and get them from secondary markets for el cheapo

I wouldn’t put it past this organization to purposely leak out rumors left and right regarding R.A. Dickey and drag it out for days – only to find out there was little conversation at all – just so that it takes away from news about the increase in ticket prices. How many are going to subsequently recognize there was an actual increase from last season if the story is buried by the media due to the R.A. fiasco?

I’m sorry to use such language but these people are all ass-holes. They played in a half empty ball park (how many no-shows included in those attendance figures?), couldn’t give tickets away (children free, half-price for a Pepsi can, etc) and can’t be ignorant of the uproar appearing on Met blogs and the negative posts appearing on the local web-based sports pages. And on top of treating a man with the rare attributes of an R.A. Dickey as if he was a piece of meat they then have the nerve to raise ticket prices – and to make it appear as if this is a good will gesture because it enables fans to afford to go to more games buying multi-packs at cheaper prices?

Repeating myself as I again say this ownership, instead of recognizing that it was the loyal Met fans that made rich, is only spitting on them. They’ve ruined a great franchise much more than what merely happens on the playing field. They ripped the heart and soul of what the Mets once truly were – a team that was an integral part of the tri-state area. Now, who really gives a damn? We have gone from fans to followers and the only way to reverse that is to tell them to take their tickets and shove it. It’s just a shame that those like Wright, Davis, Murphy, Tejada, Neise, Gee and others will have to play in front of mostly empty and unenthusiastic crowds. But if that’s what it takes to force the owners to sell, then there is little more we can do.

Truth is it won’t be any clearer then either…

I think all of this is just leaks from the FO to try and get Dickey to give in and they aren’t getting what has been proposed because lets face facts it sounds like a rediculously bad return for a guy who just won the Cy Young!

If Sandy does it he won’t make it past the trading deadline.

That’s part of the Wilpons’ ponzi scheme – develop a batting champ? Let him walk… Luck into a Cy Young winner who climbs his own mountains, and trade him as fast as you can.

The Wilpons equate talent with cost, which is not good in their book.

So, they’ll bring in younger, less experienced ball players, reduce the likelihood of competing and then raise ticket prices.

encourage people to buy ticket plans, so mets get money in advance to make interest on, or pay more for single games in case the team falls apart in the 2nd half like last season. either way mets make money, and more than likely wont see much of a drop off of their 28,000+ average last year.
