Where did I even mention the METS at all except were they the guys who looked at his medical records?

He’s a met now and therefore they have all the power in the world to suggest Surgery don’t they?

I am glad this latest injury report found it’s way onto the site today.

I am once again perturbed by a player who was sat down in early September with elbow soreness who all of a sudden 3 months later needs surgery. As mentioned, this is reminiscent of the Beltran incident that cost the team more than half a season!

It is time that a new medical staff is brought in and that more attention is paid to what players are doing in the off season. Most surgeons are usually quick to operate but it
seems that our players are allowed and prefer to take off 90 days after the season to do whatever they want until they suddenly decide to go ahead and admit that they need a procedure.

For the money that these guys are making they should be made to be more responsible to their team. While they can’t live their lives in a cocoon player during the off season there seem to be so many accidents and injuries then years back.

Players with injuries should be monitored by having mandatory exams and the same type of mini camps that include rigorous physicals to insure their health and ability to be ready for spring training

Finally, once again I want to say to the other folks here I have come to accept the fact that we as fans are unfortunately stuck with the same owners. I do however support their decision to accept the terms of having to bring in Sandy Alderson to do what he does best. It is my contention that by next year when they will be free of more bad contract money that they will be able to use that money to invest in the free agent market to fill the remaining holes we have. And despite losing him. I think the Dickey trade has a tremendous upside for the future for the Mets…..

I wonder why the mets medical staff in a number of cases keep pushing off surgery until mid to late part of off season. I understand nobody wants to have surgery its a last resort. Oh and then if the player has any kind of set back or complication will not be ready for start of the season. I would like to see the Mets sign some insurance like Brian Wilson to a one year deal with option mybe. Should the mets bring back K-Rod as insurance? But Mets owners need to look at the medical protocal about surgery procedures.

Yay, more drama for Frankie 2 times,, the real bad thing is this was his worst statical year. If he can get his ERA back in the 3s where it is every year should be ok. In hindsight he only blew saves last year, and 2 of them where back to back in May. Even if he was perfect in save opps Mets win 3 more games. Still I’d rather see him in a 8 or 7 inning role, I’d hopeif Mers are out of it in early August that they give Famillia a chance to close.

If I were the Mets, now would the time to sign a closer. A REAL closer like say, Brian Wilson. I’d say Valverde for 1 year as well, but after last season, I’m a bit skeptical.

I cant stand Francisco. Hard to digest that he’ll make more than Dickey this season. And speaking of Dickey, the Mets made it clear they never wanted him back when their only official offer to him was just $1,5 million more a year than Francisco. That’s a kick in the ass.
