Upton is crossing over into a pitchers division, and a pitchers park. Braves are trading away steals and average for power. No one knows how that will turn out.
Haren has lost potency, hence the 1 year contract. Nats also lost their power 2B to get Span.
Marlins need nothing to say.
Young is almost done with his career.

Anyone feel better?

I am glad there is at least 1 other person that looks at outflow not just inflow.

You can’t get all excited about the Braves getting better (upton) without offsetting that by getting worse (Bourne). At best, you are getting the delta between them, which in this case, could go either way.

Oh, the Mets also trade bay for empty space. That was probably the single biggest improvement move in the division!

Why would Pierre want to come to the Mets? Everyone presumes that a player is there for the taking because he signed with XXX team for XXXX dollars. Pierre already did a tour of S. Fla and, evidently, liked it there.

The Phillies have to make deal because this is their last go at it before they slide down the scale. An aging team can wake up one day very old.

The Braves, I question how they improved. Upton for Bourne is not a good swap in my opinion so there is a step backwards. Also, I question a team who has an ace who will be 38 next year and doesnt throw a knuckleball. And the signing of Laird was because their starting catcher is out for the first part of the season.

The Nats are the class of the division at this point so everyone is playing catchup.

because their scouting system allows them to trade off guys in their late 20′s and replace them with productive players in their early 20′s.

The Mets. Boring on the the field and off! They have become the laughing stock of baseball and their inability to spend any money has become a huge issue. Alderson is hand cuffed by the Wilponzi’s who want him to find super cheap quadrupale-A type players to fill a major league roster. The sooner the pull a deal and get some decent young hitters for Dickey or Niese, the better off they may look this off season. Empty seats galore!!!!

On your questions, about Ross, Sizemore, etc, I agree completely. Now there may be things going on behind the scenes that we don’t have the knowledge on, but it certainly seems that they are not able to multitask and look to add some viable bodies that would make this team better. Frustrating, for sure.
